In my opinion, its crazy and nostalgic seeing the Minecraft community thrive after all those years, going from the aquatic update to the trails and tales update, I'm thankful that I've witnessed the 2010 Minecraft era and hope the best for the future of this game.
It's also crazy that some old knowledge, systems etc. are now rediscovered by current "big fish" and are presented as something new to those younger players.
I know you get this all the time, but thank you so much for not being one of those youtubers who has some overly long intro and spends the entire video being zany and high energy and yelling constantly. As a person in his late 30s, I just can't stand that. You provide useful relevant information efficiently and in a calm voice. And you even break up the video into helpful chunks so I can find exactly the relevant information if I'm looking for something specific. You are truly the gold standard for how youtube should be done.
The only thing I'd like to see going forward is maybe the ability to to dyes in the empty center square, I'd love some colored vases Or maybe placing a banner to add a paint design, much like with the banner/shield update
For anyone like me frustrated that the Decorated Pots cant hold plants, this time stamp is for you! 15:09 Thank you for this little tip! Saved the Decorated Pot for me
You always give the best guides for stuff like this, and the Banners one is really helpful too. I'm way into the customization options that Trim, Banners, and Pottery brings.
Wouldn’t it be incredible if you could store objects in the pots, but could only get them out by breaking them? Like, you craft the thing like normal, but place the items you want to store in the center of the recipe, and the result would contain those items. You could break them open to get the loot out, like in Zelda games.
@@outcast4087 But it would be really boring, if it just was another Chest, we have many of these. I think such a mechanic could make it way more interesting.
the cherry tree and torch flower really gives decorating with pots a whole new level of fun 😊 Also you can place a flower pot on top of the decorative pot to put flowers in the decorative pot!
The Warden pottery shard being in the cold ocean structures, makes me think that this anchient society was building an underground city, to escape a big flood. Or maybe the other way around, where the remaining people in the ancient city escaped the warden's grasp to tell the tale.
@Master Brutus That's supposed to be its mouth. The line underneath it is used to separate the head and body from looking weird. And I was implying that the anchient society were humans
Now that you can store stuff inside decorated pots, these pots can actually be really useful in adventure maps. Maybe you can have a pot with a diamond symbol representing that there is loot inside. Or perhaps a pot with a sword symbol representing there’s a weapon inside.
As cute as it is im never using this feature along with archaeology as a whole. Most people will do it at first in their world then realize how not fun it is. So much of a process for such little turn out. Tho the pot as a whole could be a nice building block, the shards just seem very tedious
They SEEM tedious find a desert biome and tell me HOW COMMON DESERT TEMPLES AND WELLS ARE!? Before this update wells didn’t even have a use, And EVEN A BRAND NEW STRUCTURE
Thanks for another great video! And, although unrelated to this video, will you PLEASE do a video on the Minecraft Dungeons & Dragons crossover once it comes out? I'm having a hard time finding information about it, and I bet that having someone with your experience go through and break it down would be immensely helpful. Thanks again!
You do get exp from smelting clay tho. Also 4 dried kelp bricks will smelt one stack. So fuel isn't an issue. Its basically unlimited free fuel. Just dry the first stack, then use kelp to dry kelp. You'll get exp, plus a chest of fuel for free.
It would be really appreciated if there is a way to duplicate pottery shards. I am suggesting to use clay balls, the same way armor trims use diamonds to be duplicated. But it may go in the same scenario as with the Allays, that a method of duplication may be added in a future mini-update
That's the biggest issue with "sherds" no reason to duplicate if they are reusable. Like if armor trims were reusable they wouldn't have a recipe to duplicate them.
Thank you for a lot of great videos! Do you have a video with a pottery/trophy room or so where you have all your 20 dedicated pots and pottery/terracotta related items? If so, I would love to see it
You can get bricks faster if you spread them among multiple furnaces and use lava as the smelting source. Especially with the option to now allow a 2x2 lava hole to be an ultimate source.
You've given me so many good ideas with this video. Consider that like button smashed but I can't hit the sub button because I'm already subscribed. Love this channel.
One Thing Mojang Should Change About The "Decorated Pot" With No Shards On It Is The Name "Decorated Pot" To "Pot" Because The Default Pot Has No Decorations On It
Oook, so the flower pot bubble elevator is great. I'm going to mess with good ways to multi-floor it. So far the top is easy if you nix the pots (exit is far side so it's not really easy to exit) and open trapdoors give you a ledge for lower floors. A bit of water in the travel section suspended by a sign makes going down simple enough. So... 1 corner is up, another is down, and the other side is exit. I'll look into a possible improvement though.
I was actually wondering why they didn't make it so that decorated pots could hold flowers but if you can just place a flower pot in there, that changes the function all together. I definitely was not aware of this
Now unlike the Armor Trims I am not one who is looking for every single Potterysherd and most of these I already know the information cuz I've done my research beforehand, but I will say so far I've probably gotten all of the ones in the cold ocean ruins warm ocean ruins, a few from the desert temple, basically everything from the trail ruins, but I haven't encountered all the desert well ones. I think I have gotten only arms up. I remember going into this I was saying that I wanted just one pot in my house that would represent me as a player and the four designs I was thinking about were the blade Potterysherd or archery Potterysherd, explorer Potterysherd, Brewer Potterysherd and for some reason I just chose the mourner one because I like the way it looks and most of these can be found in the cold ocean biome. But seeing as how I've been to a lot of these places now I just have plenty of decorated pots all over my castle. If you were to enter my world my castle would be like a hallway and you just see pots being shown off to the side like item frames which I also have of souvenirs throughout my adventures from the beginning of my Minecraft career.
That's crazy, instead of smelting clay balls you can just sell them to a mason and then buy the bricks with what he paid for the clay. Its basically free brick cooking!
The mourner is not exactly the warden but rather a warden prototype. I still think Mojang could have added all the different concepts for the warden if they wanted to I mean I was literally just reading about how each of them worked and I was like "dude they could do something with this" I also heard that the warden was initially supposed to be like a Piglin that was blind in other words as well the nether could have also had a similar Warden-esque ancient city structure with its own Piglin version of the warden. And the whole time I'm thinking more than likely the Minecraft dungeons would implement them.
The Mourner Pottery Shard is very mysterious, it depicts a mob we havent seen before. And before you say its the Warden, just want to let you know that Wardens dont have eyes.
for now i have to say that i find the pottery stuff pretty useless for now, yea cool some decor blocks that only fit into specific themes but idk, theres something missing to make them interesting for me... i mean, you can't even use them as storage as far as i know

The decorated-decorated pot could also be used in map making to show shops.

Third way to get clay/bricks. Drain mud using drip stone which can then be mined into clay balls and smelted into bricks

I dont think this will happen, because it defeats the purpose of telling the stories with the things that are given by the structure a bit.
