I love the stories with Boris, he has been one of my favorite driver since the Trans-Am series in Detroit way back in the day. Him and Pual Gentilozzi would go at it. I even did the graphics on Paul’s jaguar but was cheering for Boris.

I always hated people criticizing Junior for not winning more races, not winning a champtionship, etc., and not stopping to comprehend the traumatic experiences he'd been through, not to mention the horrifying incident with his family in the aircraft accident. I will always be a Junior fan for the person that he is, not his accomplishments on the race track. I'm grateful that he's still with us to tell these stories.

I witnessed a CH-53 crash in 1984 at Camp Lejeune and we couldn’t get any closer then what seemed like 100 yards due to the incredibly intense heat. Horrible feeling not being able to help my fellow Marines but like they said the heat was hotter than anything you could imagine.

If you watch Jr come out of the car, its super awkward. Like he doesn't use his upper body at all. It really looks like an invisible person is pulling him out.

I was at the go kart track at the top of the hill above turn 3-4 I remember seeing the black smoke in the distance as we were getting ready for morning practice, and it took 30 mins or so for everyone to realize that was Jr. We were all going to sit on the edge of the hill to watch the race, instead we all watched the helicopter take off with Jr in it.

I remember watching Jr's fire on TV. But this is the first time I've heard both Jr. and Boris talk about it.
The wife and I, as well as some friends) thought that how he got out of the car was really unnatural.
After watching it many many times from the different angles the network had of the crash and fire.
I'm convinced that he had help getting out of that car. There's a camera angle that's looking at the back of the car. From that angle it looks as if someone picked him up from under both arms, pulled him through the door and dropped him just outside the car. Crazy!!

Having crewed on a number of race cars, including a Daytona Prototype, I can only imagine the awful feeling that crew must've had when that incident happened. Whether a crew mistake or just a manufacturing defect or something, that's gotta be a horrifying feeling, especially given how this was a pretty uniquely huge fire, when there is the rare fire these top level race cars just tend to not go up in a giant ball of flame like that.

I’ve been following nascar for 30 plus years but one never learned all these little nuances till the recent years with utube, and podcast such as yours coming out and available to the general public.
Now,I’ve been in fires as a volunteer fireman so I know exactly what you mean about the intensity that a fire can burn.
Keep up the good work….all of you.

"When I wrecked in the Corvette in 2004 at Sonoma and it caught fire, somebody pulled me out of that car. And I thought that it was a corner worker because I felt somebody put their hands under my armpits and pull me out of the car. I didn’t get out. I don’t have any memory of myself climbing out of the car. And I remember sort of moving like in motion, like going to lean forward and try to climb out of the car, and then something grabbed me under the armpits, pulled me up over the door bars and then let go of me.
"And I fell to the ground, and there’s pictures of me laying on the ground next to the car. I know that when I got to the hospital, I was like, 'Who pulled me out of the car? I gotta say thanks to this person,' because it was a hand! It was physical hands grabbing me! I felt it. And there was nobody there."

Wasn’t this posted a while back? Those two do a damn good impression on how gasoline explosions sound. I remember Jr’s crash and thought to myself that wasn’t that hard of a hit for it to flame up, but also realized simultaneously that don’t have any facts about it to make that assumption. Boris experience makes me wonder if there was a design/assembly flaw in the car

What is it with Corvette fuel systems? I put out a substantial fire aboard the #4 Corvette being driven by Tom Milner at the Roar before the 24 several years ago. First day, first lap. I believe it turned out to be a bad check valve. As an aside, we corner marshals had-45 minutes earlier-been told in no uncertain terms not to do so, unless the driver was trapped. Fortunately, Tom knew where to stop and was ready to bail before he got to us at T7. Yeah, we got in trouble...

DALE JR. JUST WANTED TO TELL YOU THIS. I was leaving the master tourney in Augusta in 2007 i believe on Monday, tiger and Phil played together it was there and tiger's last real tourney. BUT i was going thru Statesboro i believe and stopped at a Wendy, i let someone in in front of me in drive thur line. COOL VET WITH USA 1 i believe hope i didn't dox you . BUT I WAS BEHIND YOU AND i like dude this guy i recognize and i staring and staring ...and you looked in your mirror and laughed at my gawking. So anyway you get to the window and get your food and you pull up. THERE WERE THREE GIRLS ACTING LIKE THE BEATLES JUST PERFORMED in the drive thur. and finally after this moment calmed down. I ASKED THE OLDER LADY WAS THAT...? SHE SAID YES THE WAS DALE JR. i got down the road and reached in the bag and had like three doubles and three fries, and i only order one. SO I GUESS I OWN YOU TWO WENDY SINGLES WITH FRYES...you're like a rock star....good for you... thanks for the funny moment.

I fully believe your Daddy helped get you out of that car. 🙏💞🙏 There are human ANGEL'S among us and I know this is true because one saved me in a wreck where I had been unconscious and was trapped in the car as the frame bent and the driver door would not open ,yet a little female with an orange reflective vest came over, she may have been 5ft. 2 or 3 inches tall and possibly weighed 90 pounds soaking wet, came over and she snatched the door once and and thr squeaking and creaking of metal rubbing together seemed so loud but it didn't open, so she reset her hands and when she snatched the 2nd time, the door miraculously opened. She told me to put my arms around her neck and she slid her left arm under my legs and her right arm around my back and she lifted me up like I was a feather and she carried me singlehandedly to the gurney for the paramedics and she disappeared as quickly as she appeared. It still blows my mind that she was able to open the door of that car as the firetruck with the jaws of life hadn't arrived yet. GOD IS GREAT AND I KNOW THERE ARE ANGEL'S AMONG US. THIS VIDEO WHILE SCARY WAS INSPIRATIONAL BECAUSE Y'ALL BOTH SURVIVED 🙏😇🙏💞🤗💞🙏🙏🙏

I had a bad accident with black powder and fireworks couple years ago and my entire body was engulfed in flames. My hands and arms got it the worst and all the skin from my finger tips to me elbows was falling off like a melting candle. Just huge pieces of my arm skin falling off and so i stuck my arms in bread sacks full of dirty pond water because that's all we had at the time. My arms felt like they were still on fire for a week. I refused to go to the hospital so we went to Walmart instead and bought every tube of burn cream they had and covered my arms in the cream then wrapped them with plastic wrap and put socks over that. We changed the wrap everyday and started mixing in this pain relief spray in with the creams and wrap and after a couple of weeks I started growing new skin and believe it or not my arms completely healed with no scars. I showed the pictures of my arms to my dr and he couldn't believe the arms in the pictures were my arms because there's no scarring or signs i was burnt. My full beard protected my face from burning up but it melted my beard down to my skin and i could just wash my beard off in the shower like washing off dirt.
