I watched your videos a few times and had no idea what you were talking about but the more I follow you the more I see you had some specific expertise that majority of us don’t even know! Fascinating
I belly laughed so hard when Alyona did that. I don't know if it was just an accident of her Google search, or she just made a wry comical moment? But the pause and blank look on her face before she said "lets go" was priceless. I love Aly...
I detected a slightly homophobic vibe in that moment. The look of revulsion on her face, the wave of dismissal. Kinda ruined the comedy for me (even though he was obviously dressed for comedic effect). Also, her repeatedly calling some of taller, wider women "drag queens." A lot of eastern European countries are still quite LGBT-intolerant, so that might be what's at play here.
I wish you would include a video where fans can send in pictures and you give them an evaluation of body type and proper makeup/hair/fashion! That’d be so cool!
I don't know why she didn't include Anna Nicole Smith and Madonna. In the 90s they were trying so hard to look like Marilyn. Although I think they were both a bit more masculine in that.
She should make part 2 for sure. Gwen Stefani also tries the Marilyn look but her bones are also bigger as Aly has said. These people definitely tried to do Marilyn more than someone like Rachel McAdams.
She could probably do a part 2, what with all the Marilyns out there. Britney has done Marilyn, J.Lo has, Jennie Garth, Ashley Judd, Kelly Osbourne, everyone. Everyone.
You really hit the nail on the head... I always wondered what it reminded me of when women had excessive makeup, very ornate, but that actually made them look less feminine!? It’s a drag queen look. Finally someone said it.
Also, I think with Marilyn was that her neck, wrists, elbows, were very small and petite. Which added to minimizing her size giving her that as you say "smallishness" and making her appear so delicate in contrast of her curves. She was so pretty.
I used to go to church with the "other actress" standing next to Marilyn. Jane Russell was her name, coolest person in the whole church! Even at that advanced age she really fit in most with college age members. Had this energy and wits of someone in their 20's.
Yeah, she said I was adorable. And "where were you when I was 30!" She was really close to this girl that had a huge crush on me, playing matchmaker & breaking the ice for us. Jane was like her surrogate aunt, and helped their family out as this girls twin brother had a lot of surgeries for cancer. Jane taught this girl how to raise money and awareness, paying off all the medical debt and saving her brothers life - all before her senior year of high school! The local news covered their story. Jane was an amazing woman & helped a lot of people
myugenjin wow! That is so incredible and fascinating! I have been a fan of Jane russel since I was a little girl and it's so cool to hear about her as a person!
I adore Marilyn and am constantly disappointed when I see celebs try to be her but with the worst hair and make-up. Marilyn's makeup was always quite natural yet the celebs or their make-up artists think layering on more and more makeup is what the Marilyn look is. Ironically the only alright lookalike for Marilyn, that I've seen, was a drag queen, Jimmy James (check out the Phil Donahue interview on here).
I agree with you - ends up with too much make up every time. Just checked Jimmy - wow ahahah really looks like her! I should have include him into the video too ))
She should definitely have a shop or some kind of business to make use of her knowledge of fashion, make-up, etc. But she seems so busy. With this channel and her music channel which is way harder and more time consuming to create videos. I think her real talent is in performing. She has to find the right agent and backup band. She could breakthrough in a big way. Hey, if Haley Rienhart could do it, she could. Aly has a better range and voice. She should get in touch with Scott Bradlee, the mind behind "Postmodern Jukebox". Quite a few singers made their jump off to successful caress from his influence.
Finally a detailed Marilyn video! I've always wanted you to make a video about her. Bc you are the only person on UA-cam who can truly understand what "Marilyn Monroe beauty" actually is. Her makeup wasn't just a "glamorous black eyeliner and bold red lips" makeup , it was an absolutely matchless, perfect art that it took many years for Marilyn and her makeup artist to decide what looked the *best* on Marilyn's face. Every single detail on her makeup was perfectly adapted on her face. Every shadow, every line were designed for her facial features. Her hair, her clothing, her speaking, her gestures , her behavior ...all were perfectly designed to create *Marilyn Monroe* . I know i seem like an obsessed crazy but the art of beauty she performed on herself was incredible and so inspiring. She knew so well of herself, what was the best for her. Norma Jean was not only a marvelous woman with natural beauty, she was also an amazingly creative artist..She created the only "real perfect" woman on earth : Marilyn Monroe 💖
@@dia.96 That is *such* a great watch! I was absolutely blown away by the shadow technique her MUA used to give the illusion of even wispier lashes. How he would create a "shadow" below her lower lashes almost like a cat eye, to create the illusion of a shadow from long top lashes. Just *incredible* ! Great comment
your scientific approach to the body types makes me love my body type so much. You don't disparage any body type - you talk in terms of angles and what is more flattering to that body type. You never imply that someone's body structure is wrong or ugly - you simply show how to emphasize it in the most flattering way. You're probably the best beauty youtuber I've ever seen on this platform.
When the picture of Drew Berrymore came up I thought it was Marilyn, so I think she nailed it. You're so right about the (flamboyant) naturals looking like cross dressers. I noticed that myself a long time ago, and I categorized women's figures just as "manly looking" or more "feminine looking" and that's why they looked like that. But they CAN look feminine too, that's so intresting. Can a "hardcore" romantic also look more manly?
I'm not an expert but I have a romantic type in my class and she looks just...awkward in manly clothing lol. Not more masculine, just awkward but I bet it's different for everybody. So I don't know what else could they do to appear more manly. Here's a "romantic" celebrity dressed in men's style: i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2017/05/20/00/408E490C00000578-0-image-m-118_1495234851571.jpg celebmafia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/gemma-arterton-the-escape-premiere-in-toronto-09-12-2017-2.jpg celebmafia.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/gemma-arterton-the-escape-premiere-in-toronto-09-12-2017-18_thumbnail.jpg
A bit of a late answer, I’m a romantic myself and my teenage self had always admired rather chic, androgynous styles (monochrome, blocking, blazer styles pretty much. Yes it was a phase.) I’ve tried to imitate that sort of vibe, I’m a business student, so dressing professionally basically came as a requirement for the degree, but I’ve come to the conclusion that if I wear any clothes with a lot of yang in it (vertical lines, tailored cuts, contrasts, geometrical) the roundness in me just shows up more. With a straighter cut on the trousers and the sleeves, the shortness of my limbs and the flesh on them become so much more prominent. Even in just a simple straight cotton button down with no silhouette and straight jeans, my bust, arms and thighs pop, the fit didn’t strain, it was the loose boyish style that I wanted, but I looked bloated, and you could really see the fleshiness of my arms and legs and the fullness of my bust. And I photographed really awkwardly, like someone took the time to stretch out my face into a circle in Photoshop. This confusion was made worse since my mom is a natural, and she looks really good in loose shirts, straight jeans, even in blazers, boxy tees and all the cool stuff I wanted to wear as a teenager. I wrote it off as teenage baby fat and being horribly unphotogenic, now I know better.
Kinda late to this, but I think romantics can skew, not manly exactly, but "butch" pretty easily. In outfits and hair that would make the other 4 types look "tomboyish chic," or "elegantly androgynous," but not necessarily gay or straight, just... women's mainstream fashion, romantics in the same outfit can read as classic butch signaling. (... not that there's anything wrong with it, lol) Maybe butch women with different body types have to put in more effort to achieve the look, idk.
silvermoon hardcore romantic here and I tend to just look chunky and awkward in yang lines. If you’re super round and feminine you’re probably not going to be able to bring much masculinity out because there’s not much there to begin with. As a teen I would try to tone down my femininity to avoid unwanted attention and it just made me look puffy and uncomfortable... but there was no hiding it. I’m not even just talking about my large breasts and small waist i mean its in my face as well. Whereas dramatics still have feminine qualities to bring out because they are women so they can’t be 100 percent masculine.
I'm a Romantic too and I've found I look fatter (I'm slightly overweight) and wider in yang lines because all of the roundness pops out and makes me look even rounder, especially in the face. I would say I look butch in these types of clothes as someone else pointed out. I spent years in masculine type clothing, because I had the "wrong" body type that wasn't fashionable at the time and wanted to look like the elegant tall ladies who looked effortless in their boxy styles and straight lines, and often found I ended up hating myself even more because I looked the opposite of how I wanted to look. Now that I've come to know I'm Romantic I've realised that those lines made me look odd and now when I wear more Romantic clothing I look more like I should do: delicate. I have a boxy coat, that has sharp lapels and shoulders, and whenever I put it on I can instantly see the negative change in the way I look yet when I put on a coat that has wide and curved lapels, one that drapes across my shoulders, and waist definition, I look glamorous. It's amazing how the clothes can make or break how you look.
wish i had heard all of these tips while growing up. i am also a romantic body type and if i had known this in my teens i wouldn't have had as much of a struggle dressing myself up like i did. thanks so much, aly, for this series!
all are beautiful , yet not one of them looked better as Marilyn. IMO they look best as their own look. Aly you have a fantastic eye and don't miss a trick!
I love your channel! Not only you give us good tipps and tricks where we do not need 100 products but also you let us embrace the different body / face types that everybody can be beautiful in their own unique way. Most woman nowadays just compare and copy and become frustrated because they will never look 1:1as their Idol. You spread the right message and we all can become "our own Marilyn Monroe" ♥️
I've picked 3! Nicole Kidman adapts this look to her flamboyant natural frame so beautifully. Ethereal and natural and no drag queen vibes at all. Rachel McAdams and Rhianna pulled it off the Marilyn glamour vibe too but a pixie mischevious like way. Marilyn was more dreamy.
Tom Jones this is where I get soooo confused🤦🏼♀️ Nichole is 2 meters tall(6ft).,,how can she not be dramatic or soft dramatic? It's so hard to figure bc I'm also tall like Nichole but my body is small boned and fleshy, not broad or blunt shoulders, just tiny small ones... I wish Aly would figure peoples body types for them...I'd def pay cuz I got no clue🤷🏼♀️😂💗
Denise Herud flamboyant naturals have blunt bones and muscles, dramatics don’t have that musculature, they’re really thin and have pointy bones, soft dramatics are tall big and curvy.
I liked this video so much that I didn't want it to end! I also agree 100% with the ending, this is exactly what David Kibbe's system is all about, loving yourself, being with harmony with yourself and showing your light to the world. I think that all the R/TR girls looked best in the Marilyn look, although Scarlett Johansson looked quite nice, too.
Drew Barrymore looked so much like Marilyn! I wasn’t expecting her to. I love your videos so much! They’re really helping me embrace my body type and be more confident.
You really have a way of conveying truth without being rude and obnoxious. Perhaps some people call it shade, but you're not being critical to tear others down, just giving your aesthetic opinion on which kinds of looks work best for different people. It's just as important and fascinating to know why something doesn't flatter an individual as it is to know why something else does. The contrast is very informative. Even "perfect" models can't pull off every single look. Honestly, your insights and observations are things I've spent years trying to figure out for my own style. If people don't care, they don't have to take your advice. For everyone else, we can sit back in awe and gratitude that you're providing this information for free ;)
I have been a huge Marilyn Monroe fan since as I was a Child so this was a extremly interesting video for me. I Think Drew Barrymore comes the closest to her of the women you mentioned in the video. I would love to hear your opinion on Gwen Stefani, Madonna, Anna Nicole Smith imitating Marilyn. Could you please do a similar video like this with Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot and Elizabeth Taylor for example.
I really LOOOOVE your videos! I am so impressed with how when you do look alike videos that you concentrate on not only doing the same makeup on your features, but you also pay significant attention to the shapes of their faces and features, in that way you are able to transform your face amazingly to look like who you are trying to emulate!!! I just found you and already I have learned so much!!! Thank you from Santa Cruz, California!!!!💕❤️
Drew Barrymore in the 90s was very close to a vulnerable/ childish Marilyn but not as stunning/drop-dead gorgeous diva like Scarlett Johannson is, for example.
I think it would be really cool to make a video series out of this. The most iconic look for each body type. Maybe helping us have a place to start with our own signature looks? :)
Wow fantastic video. You describe hair, makeup and bodies in a way that I've never heard anyone else. I agree with everything you said. It really breaks down why some looks just don't look as good on some people. I think these days everyone wants to promote the message about wear what you want and it all looks good. But when you are trying to truly find a look that works best for you, these are the kinds of videos we need. Truth!
I'm a short romantic body type bleach blonde and I was born with a similar beauty mark as marilyn. I've always wanted to be a tall dramatic body type but honestly your video made me really happy and content with how I look thank you :)
Well done as always! These “who wore it best” videos really reinforce the body type series and help me learn. And I love your voice and sweet personality! Thanks for helping us to learn and love ourselves!
I LOVE your reviews !! You should do a series on viewers for makeovers or how to do the best makeup for our face shapes & body types that would be awesome. I never know how to do my hair or makeup.
I will tell you who nailed it. Drew Barrymore! O-M-G! If you had not said that was she I would have never known! She has all the aspects that made her to look like a siren! This was a perfect video to explain the body types and why certain looks do not work for some women. Another thing in the picture Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russel. I think Jane could have been a Soft Dramatic. From what I remember she was tall and broad in the shoulders but a tad soft. She was sexy and had a huge following of admirers too. I think why paired her with Marilyn Monroe in that movie (it is a good one by the way). But if she tried to be sexy like Marilyn it would come off wrong!! But when you see photos of her looking sexy it fits her just like you say. This is amazing to learn.
Cannot stop watching your videos all evening. Agree with everything! 8:11 - your comment about Scarlett Johansson natural soft image, not imitation, more resembles Marilyn Monroe is FANTASTIC ! Grateful for explaining about the art of overall harmonious and authentic image VS. simple copy. Вас очень приятно и легко слушать. И видеть тоже. ✨✨✨✨✨
You are probably the only person in the world I would actually pay for style advice. I do not know my body type, the test did not work for me, but I guess you could tell anyway. Awesome Video!
Love it! It makes so much sense when you compare the different types and why things work for them. I'm currently sewing/making myself a wardrobe and I've used your videos as reference for what works for me! I'm pretty sure I'm theatrical romantic but I'm not sure. Thanks for another great video!
Of all the videos you have done I have to say this was by far the best. So easy to understand and wow does it give the viewer a lot to think about and easily relate to. Thank you
Great video! With this one signature look comparison, body types theory is much clearer. I always thought Scarlet Johanson is quite close to Marilyn, she has some similar soft feminine vibe in her... But Drew Barrymore - wow... Dramatic types look so dangerous with MM look. And TRs have modernized MM look...
Love this! So interesting and love the in-depth analysis. I’m surprised you didn’t include Dita Von Teese or Miss Mosh (who are burlesque stars that have tried the Marilyn look)
Dear Alyona, watching your analyses is pure pleasure. So clever, so well prepared and always strait to the point. Your Channel stands out between all the other UA-cam beauty channels I recognize. I love your attitudes, I admire your skills (as a makeup artist and as a singer as well) and I wish you long and fruitful career (not only on UA-cam).
;I've watched several of your videos and now I'm sold. My personal story is that I went from a very athletic, tomboyish build (most of my life, until I hit my 30's), to a "softer" version in my mid-30's, to today. Until I hit 30, I never had soft hips or any curves to speak of, with the exception of a shelf for a backside - not wide, but definitely a bubble-butt. I struggled with dressing my "new body." Now that I'm 40, I'm struggling yet again with a new shape. I've had to completely reassess what I'm working with. Your videos have helped guide me toward success; sometimes reaffirming what I already knew and sometimes showing me some new new tools to help me look and feel my best. I've enjoyed your work so much - thank you!
It's almost impossible to emulate Marilyn look decently because the secret of her success was her inner light, her childlike quality, her natural femininity, nothing vulgar about her. While all those lookalikes apply vulgar makeup (nothing delicate like Marilyn's 50s' makeup, it's always tons of eyeliner, dark brows and super overlined lips, her hair seems totally impossible to recreate, it's always something "similar"). About her figure, it was always different, in 1953, for example, she was a pure perfection, in 1959 in Some Like It Hot she gained weight because she was pregnant (so now many people think she was "fat"). So there're many Marilyn looks: Norma Jeane, Marilyn in the 50s and in 60s are totally different. I think only Michelle Williams was bearable as Marilyn in a movie about her because she tried to play her inner qualities, all the rest are just horrible: vulgar makeup and vulgar behaviour.
She had a certain something, that's for sure, but she also wore a ton of makeup and looked very different without it. Her look was very studied, a creation. Actresses back then did not experiment with their looks as much as they do today, they stuck to a practiced formula tweaking it a bit to remain modern (Sophia Loren is also an example). The lesser quality of photographs also was a plus when it came to looks. And back then she was considered far from classy, and frankly she was quite the floozy, lol.
The actress January Jones resembles Marilyn quite a lot, however she is much more of a Grace Kelly, in fact she is almost a lookalike! I don’t think anyone really comes close to looking like Marilyn.
This was incredible! I learned so much about how to apply this to my look. That mass comparison really made the most of sense to me. I feel like I finally really understand it. And you are teaching a class! You are a great instructor on working out the best of what you’ve got. Thank you Aly!
I'm so in love with you and your videos, they're amazing and the thing i love the most are your message of how all women are beautiful in their own way and how we should find our own signature look and stop trying to look like someone else and be always our selfs, please keep uploading this kind of videos because they're so interesting and amazing, greetings from México ❤️
Great video, loved the idea behind this video, comparing and contrasting one iconic look against all body types. And I really loved your message at the end, about individual self love. You always have something wonderfully positive to say and say it so inspiringly.
Do more videos like this please! It was very helpfull to see different bodytypes in one bodytypes signature look. I feel like I understand the bodytypes better now.
Just firstly need to say, you look beautiful in this video Ali. You were absolutely right. So observant. I love this type of video from you. It helps me understand why some looks are more harmonious and suit a woman better than others and why dressing for your body type is best. I’m learning a lot from your observations! Thank you.
You look stunning with your signature makeup, hair, with the whole look/outfit! It's just stunning! That sophisticated glamorous commercial-looking makeup(as though you pose for a makeup-campaign, in some beautiful poster, enchanting people into buying the beauty goods), the color of your hair and how it's styled, that dress is so unique and stunning on you!
Thank you, great overview, even though I have studied your previous videos on body types it is wonderful to have more information and examples to clarify your classifications. Very well done, you really know this and convey it expertly.
This video ideas are so cool and informative ^^. Honestly nowadays it’s really hard to find a iconic look for yourself, cause there are basically millions of other girls who do the same makeup as me. But I’m trying to find something that suits only me
Just something about Marilyn is so entrancing. There are definitely women who have a more beautiful face, but Marilyn just had this aura that exude feminity, sensuality, and yet innocence. I have never seen a woman who naturally was so enticing, truly was the most beautiful woman alive.
This video is amazing! It totally unveiled the mystery of the body types to me. So explanatory and well made. Thank you Aly for your work and for encouraging us all to understand and embrace our own unique features! Greetings from Sweden!
I can’t believe how much I love your videos! I have been a no fuss, Low maintenance kind of gal my entire life and now I am enjoying learning all this girly stuff! It is intensely interesting and a lot of fun! I wish I could get the Kibbe book but I can’t find it except used on Amazon and eBay for over $100! Your videos are great, highly technical but you explain things so well! You are chic and adorable and I really appreciate you! Thank you!!
I have to disagree with alot of your opinions. A lot of these women look amazing! Catherina Macphee does not look like a man at all, I think she pulled off the Marilyn look better than anybody!
Your channel is the BEST channel of entire UA-cam, I’m finally learning how to be my best self, how to love my body and what makeup/clothes look best on me ♥️ (But I’m still unsure if I’m a Soft Classic 😂🤷🏻♀️)
I love your videos so much! They inspire me to do my makeup and clothing even better and since I've seen all your body type videos, I buy different clothes and already got a lot more compliments! However, I'm a soft classic (I guess) and with that pretty average. Not that I'm looking too average overall, but my height, face shape and so on are always average. I would love to hear more of classics as sometimes I feel like they're brushed off pretty fast because they are average as well. You are btw the only UA-camr I clicked at the bell icon! Greetings from Germany and lots of love :) xx
as always, I love your conclusions, and I would love you to make more videos around the idea of "signature looks" and how to find our own. Also, videos on men from time to time would be quite interesting ;) because when you talked about all the different body types for women, I couldn't help wonder, what's the equivalent for men ? might be stupid but are there some men/women bodytypes that go especially well together ? these could be interesting topics for future videos ;)

Can you make a video on posing for your body type?
Could you plz do Brigitte Bardot???!!!
The blue eyeshadow she uses to me was a very white powder blue that had a lot of white and it looks like to help bring the eyes forward
I watched your videos a few times and had no idea what you were talking about but the more I follow you the more I see you had some specific expertise that majority of us don’t even know! Fascinating
You should make a video on how to pose for your body type!
Venus Zambrana this would be so lovely!
and what make up to wear for your body type
Venus Zambrana that would be very helpful
Genius suggestion!
YES PLEASE
"James Franco.. he's a man. Let's go." 😂
Frances hahhaha i mean why did she include him ahahaha
I think it just popped up on the Google search.
I belly laughed so hard when Alyona did that. I don't know if it was just an accident of her Google search, or she just made a wry comical moment? But the pause and blank look on her face before she said "lets go" was priceless. I love Aly...

This video should be called “Aly roasting celebs trying to be Marilyn for 20 minuets”
But it's a gentle roast xD
More like a light toasting
Emerald light toasting😂😭
And I love it 😄
I wish you would include a video where fans can send in pictures and you give them an evaluation of body type and proper makeup/hair/fashion! That’d be so cool!
Yesssssssssssss
Hayley Sullivan yesss
Yes please
I was literally just thinking that!
Yes please please please 😍
I don't know why she didn't include Anna Nicole Smith and Madonna. In the 90s they were trying so hard to look like Marilyn. Although I think they were both a bit more masculine in that.
Well, Alyona said a few times in the video that she simply googled "celebrities looking like MM" and these are the results. Blame google.
I thought exactly the same thing, I was hoping for it
Wotcher Anna Nicole was spot on
She should make part 2 for sure.
Everyone.

Also, I think with Marilyn was that her neck, wrists, elbows, were very small and petite. Which added to minimizing her size giving her that as you say "smallishness" and making her appear so delicate in contrast of her curves.
She was so pretty.
When she joined the Emmeline Snively Modeling agency age 18 they had her as 5ft6 and 35-23-35. That's a UK size 10 which is very slim.
@@sarahholland2600 nothing heavy about her except when she was pregnant. It's her tiny waist that makes the chest and hips appear bigger.
I used to go to church with the "other actress" standing next to Marilyn. Jane Russell was her name, coolest person in the whole church! Even at that advanced age she really fit in most with college age members. Had this energy and wits of someone in their 20's.
myugenjin wow really?!! Did you ever speak to her personally?
Yeah, she said I was adorable. And "where were you when I was 30!" She was really close to this girl that had a huge crush on me, playing matchmaker & breaking the ice for us. Jane was like her surrogate aunt, and helped their family out as this girls twin brother had a lot of surgeries for cancer. Jane taught this girl how to raise money and awareness, paying off all the medical debt and saving her brothers life - all before her senior year of high school! The local news covered their story. myugenjin wow!
I should have include him into the video too ))
I do not approve of males dressing up as MM. It is so Unmanly.
Everything u said makes sense til u mentioned Jimmy James who is a man still not the same. Marilyn was a woman.
I always thought that christina "looked" like marilyn but after I saw draw barrymore I think she is one of the closest.
Solution i agree!
Except drew does not have the amazing curves
You should offer consultations on this, you seem to have a very fluent grasp on the whole body types thing! Love all your videos 💖💖
Michael Badger YES!! A great buisness idea for Aly.
She's actually a talented musician, which makes her a double threat!
Omg yes!!! 💗💗💗💗💗
Yes she should totally help us haha
She should definitely have a shop or some kind of business to make use of her knowledge of fashion, make-up, etc. But she seems so busy. With this channel and her music channel which is way harder and more time consuming to create videos.
I think her real talent is in performing. She has to find the right agent and backup band. She could breakthrough in a big way. Hey, if Haley Rienhart could do it, she could. Aly has a better range and voice. She should get in touch with Scott Bradlee, the mind behind "Postmodern Jukebox". Quite a few singers made their jump off to successful caress from his influence.
Please do audrey hepburn
Claudia Rodriguez yes!! I really want to see her do one of Audrey Hepburn
She is just usual gamin
@LC Marina plenty try to actually
Finally a detailed Marilyn video! I've always wanted you to make a video about her. Bc you are the only person on UA-cam who can truly understand what "Marilyn Monroe beauty" actually is. Norma Jean was not only a marvelous woman with natural beauty, she was also an amazingly creative artist..She created the only "real perfect" woman on earth : Marilyn Monroe 💖
Super late but Lisa Eldridge (a professional make up artist) did a video doing full breakdown of Marilyn's make up and it's amazing
She had many plastic surgeries so she isn't really a 'natural beauty'.
I like that she included James Franco here :D :D :D He's what James Dean would've looked like if he got a Marylin makeover
Lol 1950s version of "I made my boyfriend look like me"
your scientific approach to the body types makes me love my body type so much. You don't disparage any body type - you talk in terms of angles and what is more flattering to that body type. You never imply that someone's body structure is wrong or ugly - you simply show how to emphasize it in the most flattering way. You're probably the best beauty youtuber I've ever seen on this platform.
Definitely Drew Barrymore looked most like Marilyn.💗
Yes I think so too )
100% agree
NO CURVES
Yes it was a phase.)
I’ve tried to imitate that sort of vibe, I’m a business student, so dressing professionally basically came as a requirement for the degree, but I’ve come to the conclusion that if I wear any clothes with a lot of yang in it (vertical lines, tailored cuts, contrasts, geometrical) the roundness in me just shows up more.
Never liked a video faster! Love the body type series, and all related video's where you compare different types!
Thank you! x x x
Aly Art hahahaha! James Franco..... He 's a man..... Let's go.....
that was fun :-)
Bisous.😍 love.
wish i had heard all of these tips while growing up. i am also a romantic body type and if i had known this in my teens i wouldn't have had as much of a struggle dressing myself up like i did. thanks so much, aly, for this series!
Love body type series! Would be very interesting if you make a video about wedding dresses for every body type
That's literally what I kept thinking of asking! That time will be coming up for me, soon...
all are beautiful , yet not one of them looked better as Marilyn. IMO they look best as their own look. Aly you have a fantastic eye and don't miss a trick!
Yes 👏🏼
I love your channel! Not only you give us good tipps and tricks where we do not need 100 products but also you let us embrace the different body / face types that everybody can be beautiful in their own unique way. Most woman nowadays just compare and copy and become frustrated because they will never look 1:1as their Idol. You spread the right message and we all can become "our own Marilyn Monroe" ♥️
YES
Yes! I'd love to see a video like this but on these celebrities who imitated her look.
100% agree
"James Franco... he's a man" 😂😂
I couldn't stop laughing!!!! Love this lady ❤
How would you classify Lana del Rey, and evaluate her fashion and makeup choices?
i'm pretty sure in her '13 body types' video she classified her as a natural/soft natural type.
It is insane how good you are in seeing what fits best for people 😍
Through out this video I was thinking how much you look like Marilyn yourself. You’re so stunning!!
Oh thank you )))
I thought that as well some time back. Very soft.
Marilyn looked amazing with short hair! I think she looked even better with shorter hair then with longer/shoulder length
No. Long hair is Always great. Upon a Female.
Hey, could you do a video talking about Brigitte Bardot and her style ??
I think it would be really cool to make a video series out of this. The most iconic look for each body type. Maybe helping us have a place to start with our own signature looks? :)
Pamela was really beautiful younger! Healthy beauty
I love rewatching these videos. Just a nice reminder that every body type has unique beauty
I never know how to do my hair or makeup.
james franco nailed it!!!
BEST analysis about marilyn's look ive seen so far and probably ever will💯
Cannot stop watching your videos all evening. Agree with everything!
8:11 - your comment about Scarlett Johansson natural soft image, not imitation,
more resembles Marilyn Monroe is FANTASTIC !
Grateful for explaining about the art of overall harmonious and authentic image VS. simple copy.
Вас очень приятно и легко слушать.
И видеть тоже. ✨✨✨✨✨
Marilyn changed so much throughout the years
You are probably the only person in the world I would actually pay for style advice. I do not know my body type, the test did not work for me, but I guess you could tell anyway. Awesome Video!
It would be useful if you would give us a little guide on how to pose for every body type. Nice video!
Thank you
I feel like Drew Barrymore did a good job, it looked so natural on her and she wasn't even trying.
Aly do you know what you are for us? You're a TREASURE! Thank you so much for ALL this knowledge you offer for free! 😍
Love seeing the pictures and hearing your commentary. Wonderful I learned so much about her style and how she made it look.
;I've watched several of your videos and now I'm sold. I've enjoyed your work so much - thank you!
james franco! I was learning watching this and then your comedic timing and delivery was perfection
I joined your channel when you had about 1200 subscriber's. Ive always founfd your content insightful, useful and referrable. Good job.
genius.thank you Aly.keep doing the body type series.lots of love.
You're so knowledgeable!
Oh thank you, I'm just a fan of Marilyn and of Old Hollywood :)
Yup her childlike quality showed up on her face
she was definitely vulgar :D like come on
She had a certain something, that's for sure, but she also wore a ton of makeup and looked very different without it.
Super interesting!! Thank you for your time making this video! xx
Dear Aly, you are brilliant and you have taught us all so much. Thank you for doing an amazing job!
Mygod ... your way of analyzing shapes, features, depth is wonderful...fascinating video :)
The actress January Jones resembles Marilyn quite a lot, however she is much more of a Grace Kelly, in fact she is almost a lookalike! I don’t think anyone really comes close to looking like Marilyn.
January Jones is tall, skinny with tiny slitty eyes. More coltish and bony and classic. Not at at dreamy and romantic like Marilyn.
Imy Wallis i believe Britney spears looks like marylin also
JJ bones are sharp. That's why she gives off the ice queen vibe.
January Jones is a Classic like Grace Kelly, that's why she looks so much like her
@@user-lb3up4rq2i I do not.
what you said about romantics is so true, they'd always tell I was older than my age even tho my feautures are pretty soft to be considered 'aged'.
This was incredible! I learned so much about how to apply this to my look. That mass comparison really made the most of sense to me. I feel like I finally really understand it. And you are teaching a class! You are a great instructor on working out the best of what you’ve got. Thank you Aly!
Please do a make up for body types video!
Yassss please
I feel like I understand the bodytypes better now.
just love how you talk about youth, beauty and freedom
Just firstly need to say, you look beautiful in this video Ali.
You were absolutely right. So observant. I love this type of video from you. It helps me understand why some looks are more harmonious and suit a woman better than others and why dressing for your body type is best. I’m learning a lot from your observations! Thank you.
I cant never get enough Marilyn, and how no one can be even close to her lol
You look stunning with your signature makeup, hair, with the whole look/outfit! It's just stunning! That sophisticated glamorous commercial-looking makeup(as though you pose for a makeup-campaign, in some beautiful poster, enchanting people into buying the beauty goods), the color of your hair and how it's styled, that dress is so unique and stunning on you!
You are so on point with these comparisons💜
Jayne Mansfield looked great herself.
Thank you!!
LMAO THE JAMES FRANCO, i love ya aly 😂😂
Please never stop this series. 😻
I love your analysis of different beauty types. You're very thoughtful and eloquent and I agree with you. You have a great eye
Thank you every time I watch you I feel I learn something different
I don’t understand, but you know what you are talking about- because it’s so true on what you say!
I have to disagree with alot of your opinions. A lot of these women look amazing! Catherina Macphee does not look like a man at all, I think she pulled off the Marilyn look better than anybody!
Don't take her seriously, she's just one of those not-so-rare biased kibbe youtubers.
You are so talented, charming, creative, helpful and uplifting to others.🌸
Sending you happy thoughts that all of your dreams and wishes come true!✨
When she brought up James Franco! *ded*
I dont think Rihanna is small. ..love your videos❤
Your channel is the BEST channel of entire UA-cam, I’m finally learning how to be my best self, how to love my body and what makeup/clothes look best on me ♥️
(But I’m still unsure if I’m a Soft Classic 😂🤷🏻♀️)
I really like this series. I cant telly bodytype yet but this helps. I think Naomy Watts and Beyonce look amazing with this look. Thank you!
You should do a video about signature look for each body type, like your suggestions 💕
Awesome idea!! Thank you ))
Aly Art can't wait to see it!!! 💕
I admire you so much Aly! You're an angel
YESS✨✨✨✨✨ I’ve been waiting for this!! Love your videos
I would LOVE to see more of soft dramatics 😊 I adore your body types series!!! Keep the good work ❤❤
I love your videos so much!
