Brown noise is great for blocking out external sounds and distractions and even internal rumination. It sounds a lot smoother and less harsh than white noise and pink noise which use higher frequencies. I've also adjusted the EQ on this audio, to make it sound EVEN SMOOTHER and more soothing. The effect is a little bit like sleeping in the back of a moving car - very relaxing!
Use this one with or without headphones! It can help you:
Focus
Sleep
Mask tinnitus
Reduce your internal monologue to help with concentration
Calm children, babies and even pets

This sounds like when I was in my dad’s car at night on our way home from a gathering as a kid. I always loved the quiet yet slightly noisy ride, meanwhile being able to feel the road under the car. My sister sitting next to me, holding my hand, as we doze off into dreamland with the smell of car and cold air embracing us until we were finally home. I have never truly felt like that since I was a kid or early teen, but this video brought me back to those days and I’m thankful for that.
Wonderful memories, so glad to read.
Omg I had totally forgotten about this feeling!!! So nostalgic. The sound is exactly like it!
This sounds like a rainy day, a mountain river and a car ride home.
guat da fawk
Are you an author? If you’re not you should definitely give it a whirl. I think you would find success in it.
This is like flying with airplane and everyone is sleeping calm and enjoying their flight ❤❤❤❤❤
Just seen this comment (a year later, haha)! Thanks for listening!
@@KerryMac lol
Yes! Have a nice flight ✨✨✨
WAAAAAAAH WAAAAAAAAAAAAH WEEEAAAAAAAAH
Oh I love that!
Man, this is how it feels to not have voices in your head 24/7/365?
Kinda like it.
Yes! That's why I use this kind of thing! I think it taxes the part of the brain that ruminates and kind of dials it down, helping the rest of the brain to think clearly. Thanks for listening!
Hey, fellow overthinker 👋🏻 😅
@@krispy.reading :)
Same. It’s kind of trip
This is exactly why I came looking for brown noise ...I cannot switch of the voice in my head its making me sick
This reminds me of the sound you start to hear as you're eagerly nearing the ocean ~ it is the sound of presence and forgotten worries.
Thanks a lot for listening!
What an absolutely lovely description. I couldn't have said it better.
I couldnt agree with you more!! I lived in OBX for 16 years and this sound is as you describe!!
Ahhh. This.
The sound of presence. Beautiful
4 years struggling with an engineering degree and just now i come across this, for the first time I've studied for an hour straight with great concentration.
Thank you very much.
I hope you have a great day.
Oh, just wonderful to read! Glad it helps, thanks for listening!
@@KerryMac love this positivity keep it up both of u

same boat my fellow engineer! 🙏🏾🙏🏾
I use brown noise for studying too!!
This… this is the noise of big things happening, but they are outside, and you are safe and warm.
🙏
Beautifully described ❤️
I really appreciate this "smoothed" audio. I've never cared for these white/pink/brown noice videos because they are just sounds like TV static to me which I think is a very grating sounds but this is actually calming and pleasant.
I think that as well, yes! Glad to read, thanks for listening!
I agree, this is the first time I’ve enjoyed one of these, the pink and white noise audios make me EXTREMELY on edge, but this is so pleasant to hear!
yeah it's all about the brown, man. White and pink are so old skool.
Did u find a sense of peace and calm over you ?

For real...you got me
Jokes on you, I'm just trying to sleep.. 😏.. 👀
my adhd brain thanks you very much for this video; i've never felt this quiet in my head like i am rn. it feel so weird yet extremely relaxing 💗
So pleased to read! Thanks for listening!
Fellow ADHDer here, with the same thought and gratitude. "Feeling quiet in my head" is exactly how this makes me feel and it is pure joy. :')
Every time I have to work on something that requires all of my attention I listen to this. I have adhd, depression and anxiety so my brain is always screaming at me but this blocks all of it out so I can manage my thoughts. 100/10, will listen to many times again.
So pleased to read. I started making these for similar reasons, studying being one of them!
I have adhd too, but this audio just calms me like no other & makes me feel veryy relaxed & sleepy 😊
This feels to me like when I used to do freediving on the summers. Everythings "sounds" like this when you are underwatter and moving slowly between the fish and the algae...
Amazing! Thanks for listening.

I love how much this sounds like you're on a long car ride. Noise like that has always given me the ability to sleep easier and just massage my brain lmao.
This is the only thing that helps me to sleep every night.... It blocks the overthinking
My body just knows to relax while listening to this. I have this feeling of anxiety that permanently sits between my throat and my belly button. When I listen to this it's like all that heaviness has gone away and I'm breathing for the first time.
Goodness, so great to read, thanks for listening...
Most important to breathe deeply daily 👌🏼 there are techniques that really helped me, I also have less shoulder and neck pain
I can relate to that feeling. I agree breathing exercises can help but also simply putting your hand on your heart bringing your attention there instead of to your mind. You might also picture a bright light that sits in the centre of your heart to ground you. You are safe, you are magnificent and you are seen. Much love
I feel this comment !! So much
i am overwhelmed by the noise of life. my head pounds and i can hardly breathe. it is like a quiet, separate place. thank you
I'm so glad it's of use and I hope the noise and overwhelm of life lessens soon!

Would anybody believe that I’m 53 and this is my first time hearing about brown noise and listening to it? Oh wow, it feels like the entire world has been lifted off my shoulders. Thank you so much for this peace of mind.
So glad to read - thanks for listening!
This is by far the best brown noise recording I've come across! Super smooth, perfect to concentrate for work and study. It really does drown out any outside noise and helps to focus.
So glad it's useful - hope the work goes well!

Definitely doesn’t block tinnitus, but it is very calming 💛
Glad you got something out of it, thanks for listening!
Haha same opinion here
You can try white or pink noise to block tinnitus. It’s in the higher hertz range. My tinnitus is comparable with 12k Hz.
I found it didn't block my tinnitus altogether but dulled it. Love it!
Have you tried using headphones and putting the sound louder? I have very severe tinnitus and this track blocks out most of it.
I know this is really weird thing to be a connoisseur of but this is the best brown noise on UA-cam !
Haha! So glad it's of use - thanks a lot for listening!
THIS REMINDS ME OF THE TIME I WAS LYING AT THE BEACH AT NIGHT WITH MY PANTS DOWN AROUND MY ANKLES AND 3 DUDES CAME UP TO ME A KICKED THE SHIT OUT OF ME !!
for me it's the sound of a freight train at night in the mountains while you're dozing off in a tent after a long day..it's really soothing..and reminds me of my childhood..

This is the sound that made Bose noise canceling headphones my favorite travel companion on business trips for 30 years.

For the first time ever I was able to study for 1 hour without any distractions (I have ADHD) this really helped thank you!!!
So glad to read, Zeba! Thanks a lot for listening! There are longer versions of the same noise on here as well if you need 'em.
Thank you guys for this, I have troubles with sleeping because of my neighbors, I play this everyday on my ears , then I fall asleep immediately , so really thanks
Know exactly what that's like! Very glad this worked, thanks for listening!
one of the happiest moments of my life was lying on the big high jump cushion in the sports field, surrounded by the deep blue sky of an early winter sunset, and hearing this sound all around.
Can't thank you enough for this. It helps me to sleep after waking up before sunrise to eat/pray for Ramadan. 👍
So pleased to read and hoping it's a good time for you!
Don't know how to describe it, but this brown noise feels smoother and nicer compared to the other ones I've heard so far. I don't know why or how :) Thanks for this
Ah, I'm so glad to read - thanks a lot for listening! (There are other durations of this same noise on here by the way, if you need longer ones, like).

I've clicked on several brown noise videos, but nothing hits different as this one. I always find myself coming back to this particular video, it is just the video I need to get my work done, It really helps me to focus and concentrate better, eliminating the distractions around me. ✨
After having my fire alarms go off for a straight hour I’d like to thank UA-cam for somehow recommending me this immediately after
Haha! Good algorithm! Thanks for listening.
this is saving my life right now--seriously dealing with noisy upstaires neighbor who stumps everywhere and always pace the floors like he has a million problems
Wow my jaw instantly unclench and rested which is amazing because I suffer from multiple discomforts through chronic TMJ
Oh, I'm so pleased it's helpful with that - thanks for listening.
This is surprisingly useful for trying to stay focused, thank you. It's also inspiring, it makes me feel like I should be creating and posting content also. It also seems to help my cats sleep more comfortably.. not that they really needed help. I know you didn't invent brown noise, so it's particularly cool you modified it to create your own custom mix to enhance the effect. Great job.
Thanks so much! I find this kind of noise very helpful so am going to experiment with different versions to see which are most effective for people. I realise I just replied to your other comment but hi again and thanks for listening!
I feel like I'm on top of an erupting volcano, waiting for my demise. Needless to say, I love it.

I just discovered what are brown & white noises today & I've been thinking like, “Now even noise has names??!” but at the same time I still love how brown noise comfort me so I guess I can't complain abt it anymore.
Haha, I thought that when I first head the terms. White noise is sharper and brown noise more muffled - to my ear anyway.

I'm similar and find the sharper sound of White Noise (which I have on here too) works better for me for focusing. And the softer sound of Brown Noise - I like for relaxation...
I like the way you explain the benefits. When people here me listening to brown noise or rain they think I’m a looney toon. Lol amazing how humans have all these functions they don’t know about or use. We like walking iPhones.
Yes, they laugh at me as well - but every once in a while a colleague will be like "OMG, I get it now!" - haha!

Back in the day lol when my dads truck would have a camper and I would we would go on looong roads trips just laying in the truck and trying to see some stars the window… it unlocked a memory i haven’t felt in decades
This reminds me of a heavy Texas rainstorm, but no thunder and lightning! The best way I can fall asleep 😴 💤 🌧
So glad to read - thanks for listening!
My brain calm. So strange and pleasant effect
I find that with this sort of thing! Good to know it works for others too!
This reminds me of the family trips to my mom’s hometown in Guatemala. A quiet little village in the middle of nowhere… a dormant volcano on the horizon, wind blowing through the leaves of the forests, endless cornfields, the distant rumble of a chicken bus approaching from miles, the sun sparkling over the water, hidden cicadas and rattlesnakes, an abandoned adobe house full of flowers blooming in its roofless walls and children playing hide and seek. Beautiful memories!
(Now the village is a town full of cars, some forests were completely wiped for agroindustrial use and most of the old adobe houses were demolished to build modern residences… it took about 10 years for this and most people seem to have forgotten how charming the place used to be).
I tried to stay focused but here I am reading the comments 🙄
Haha! Thanks for listening!
I have tinnitus- for a very long time. This does help mask it, especially when I'm working on something that takes a chunk of the whine "away", this helps bring it down even further.
Ah, I'm really pleased to read this! There are longer versions of the same noise on here if you need them. Thanks a lot for listening!

I can honestly say that I prefer this over regularly smoothed brown noise👍
Yeah, I mean people have to go the whole hog with the smoothing. ;) Thanks for listening.
The ocean beach sounds like this in Washington State. No crashing breakers, just a constant dull roar, because the beach is so flat and the waves break so far out from the water line. Immediately took me back to visits to Ocean Shores as a kid! ✌🏼☺️🙏🏻
Lovely to read - thanks for listening!
@@KerryMac About 20 years ago I was a (starving) recording engineer with a home studio, and I brought some gear to Kailua-Kona on the Big Island (HI), my Sony DAT, small Mackie mixer, and a stereo mic, and recorded a few hours of surf sound in the middle of the night (to minimize people and bird interference) from a condo lanai that actually hung over the lava rock beach. I did a bit of compression later to even out the "7th wave of the 7th set" startling crashing breakers, snipped out one bird tweet, and otherwise left it natural. I had ideas to "put it out there", but never really did. I still have a few CDs, and of course it's in digital format. But it's another wonderful way to zen out, listening to that surf!
My 6 week old loves this. Thank you from a stressed out and tired mama
Oh wonderful times! So pleased to read, and congratulations!
Overthinking is a tad dangerous for me. This takes the focus away from that when im trying to sleep

Ah brilliant news! I'm just about to put out a riveting "Green Noise" video, which I believe is very good for overthinking as well!
Thank you 💖🙏 Cut down about 60% of the chatter, super helpful 💓

My wife gets jealous when we fly. Soon as they crank the engines and we get to altitude, it sounds like this and I'm asleep- regardless of discussion, babies, etc. Eight hours to Glascow? Time for a nap!
🙏
It's like a night flight headed back east from Vegas over the deserts and prairies and there is nothing to see or do. Best sleep (sitting straight up) ever!
Brilliant!
it’s nice how there isn’t a change in brown noise every few minutes like the last one i used to go to sleep
This is so much better that the past video I was on. It's like he threw a fan onto a mic. Or put it in the trunk of a car. Too crunchy. This scratches that itch just right. Nightnight
So pleased!! Sleep well!
I've tried everything to focus on revising for exams over the years and have always struggled to focus, with my attentionbeing diverted by even the tiniest of noises or movements around me. Someone recommended brown noise and I searched and found this video.
I've found it really useful with earphones on drowning out unwanted distraction and finding I'm able to focus on exactly what I'm revising. When I'm at my desk at work and I really need to concentrate, I'm finding it so useful.
Thanks for uploading it 😊
Oh, I'm so glad to read. I actually made it for myself when I was trying to focus on study so great to know other people find a similar thing.

I didn't know brwn noise was a thing but i am glad i came across it

I was sitting here thinking this is like the sound by the window on the airplane flying down to visit my grandfather when he was alive and I was a child but then I said wait it’s more and you hit it… the car ride on the highway late at night to and from out of town when we were kids to go stay with my Father and I would fall into the most comfortable sleep both ways until I saw the orange street lights from behind my eye lids!! Every single time I would feel this comfortable pastime and it brought me such comfort. Knowing I’m going to see Daddy!! ❤
Ah how wonderful, brings a tear to the eye!
This video is the only thing getting me through college thank you :)

I do white noise often it kind of works. I put this on and I am instantly 😌 at peace!
Sooooo relaxing…..
This works! Was procrastinating at work because of anxiety and overwhelm. Put this on and was able to drown out negative feelings which kept away intrusive thoughts and maladaptive daydreaming. Really really good to read! Thanks for listening!
Sounds like driving on the highway. I love it, how could you listen to other noises when brown noise exists
Oh wow it really does help with tinnitus. This track appeared in my feed; I have severe tinnitus and decided to put it to the test as my tinnitus is particularly shrill right now. A few seconds after the track started, 90% of the tinnitus just melted away. I did have to put the audio louder than just ‘background noise’ level, and use a headband with integrated headphones.
I play tracks all night to sleep, otherwise the tinnitus keeps me awake; I’m very excited to give this one an all-night test. Tracks like this with just one frequency are my favorite type. Thank you! ❤
Oh, I'm so pleased to read - thanks a lot for listening!
Love this. Thank you very relaxing.
V glad to read - thanks for listening!
LOVE IT! Definitely helps calm the tinnitus.
why is this so calming???
I personally think the waveform is so chaotic, it kind of forces the brain into slightly giving up and creates this "nothingy" sound whilst calming the circuitry.
The best for sleeping. Thank you!
