We grew up crabbing like this. Got a cooler full every time. Moved away and came back with kids and grandkids and people were curious about our way lol. We didn't know it was a lost way! Now so many people are trying and having a blast!
I am from the Northeast raised in the Mid-Atlantic to Washington DC area. Born in New Haven Connecticut. I just love love the Louisiana accent! I love crabbing. I'm trying to learn as much as I can. Good video.
They look great! Im from MD and we steam them in shell. I see a bunch of people shell and rinse their crabs before cooking. My niece and her family do. I just never had them boiled or precleaned.
Y’all lucky to get that spot, was there a week ago with my son and that spot was packed!! We went down the bayou a little bit and did good. Good video! Kelly
Good job. I use to run 400 crab traps years ago. 200 traps a day while the other 200 soaked, back and forth. Caught some crabs that i should of had mounted but would give those to my dad to eat.
I used to do this in Galveston Texas and it was so exciting see that line getting pull and slowly pulling it up and it be a huge crab on the end. So satisfying, cant wait to go to Mobile now and do this since I live in Alabama now.
That's the only way we did it as kids in Va. and N.C. growing up in the seventies an early 80. Best day, summer of 73, hand lined over 150 crabs from the eastern branch of the Elizabeth River in VA. Beach. Did not have money for the circle nets.
Hand-lined some crabs for the first time today and had a blast. I didn’t have any chicken but we used a small croaker that my dad caught and it worked great.
Why is it that every time you are crabbing that other people seem to gang up around your spot?? That really ticks me off!! Nice batch of crabs there guys. More videos please!!
I left the same comment on the page as I’m leaving you now it is not so much as people ganging up on your spot that was a whole pier there was enough room for him and the other people that were there are you suggesting he should have a whole pier to himself that’s not very sportsmanlike
What's the crab spawning season/habits? Just thinking about a area with a lot of blue crabs that area ought to be outstanding Red/Blk Drum ESP after the crabs spawn for a month or so predators targeting their little ones.
None of that belongs in crabs 🤣 I’m sorry but I trust Louisiana folks with food more than anywhere else in the world. I can promise you if you tired these you’d never eat them any other way.
Other people would like to catch nice crabs too it’s not so much is people ganging up around your spot but there seems to be enough room there for everybody that was there you say that he should have a whole pier to himself That’s not very sportsmanlike if you ask me
Well that dock gets very busy sometimes when people know there’s crabs there and it gets almost impossible to fish. If you ever make a UA-cam channel and tell everyone your spots you’ll learn real quick it’s not sustainable and it’s also not fair to the locals to bring a bunch of out of towners to fish on top of them. I only fish here a couple of times a year so it doesn’t matter to me but some of these locals feed their families here all season long. What kind of guy would I be to tell the world to come fish on top of them? Go watch “Outside the Levees” if you’re looking for spots, I don’t roll that way.
I’m sure there’s enough crab for everyone why the location is a secret is so pretty. I’m glad I live in the city of 10,000 lakes whether I get spots off fish brain’s app or just go to places I’ve never fished I’m a true fisher woman I’m goin where ever the car takes me, hell we only have 10,000 lakes
I just looked unfortunately Minnesota has no lakes with crab, I think my first time I’m goin to either Florida or Texas. I fish fish I think I’d know how to Crab it would save me a lot of money, I literally eat seafood all month long
I grew up in Louisiana and do I miss the outdoors there, lots of great memories there catching crawfish and fishing.
Man your videos never disappoint. Those crabs looked amazing and catching on those hand lines are a blast. Keep it up!
Thanks man!

Grew up doing the very same thing on the Chesapeake bay and it's tributaries!!!

That’s the way we did it from long ago in New Jersey and Maryland. Chicken on a string. So rewarding
That is a fun time and some very good eating there.

Move back to Russia.
In jersey we let the bait sit out in the sun for a day... The crabs love stinky bait. Crabs ,Turtles and Catfish love it
That’s a good tip! Thanks!
Nice video. Where did you get your crab nets?
Love crabbing myself, y’all enjoy 🦀🦀
I was catching crabs like this in the 60’s at the Jersey shore. Some huge crabs in NJ
Is that brackish water or fresh?
Hi. Where did you get the trap? The green one. Please let me know. Thank you! Great video!

Wow a lot crabs 👌
BOILING BLUE CRABS!! 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ LOL, NICE CATCH GUYS.
Better than steamed 🤣
We’re y’all in point auxchenes
I lived near there in the 70s. We’d go out with raw chicken carcass and some kite string.
How do those uncooked crabs freeze for Red fish bait? Is it worth doing for the trip tomorrow?
Yeah definitely
Good job 👍
dope Vid! thank!
Nice catch, man you look familiar, did you ever work in Port Fourshoun at C-Port??
No sir I didn’t
Are you in Mississippi? I'm from Texas. I'm going on vacation and want to go catch crabs in nets. Can you suggest a spot?
That is a VERY Stout Dock... Must be a Public dock?
Yes it’s public
I was crabbing like this back in 1986
Hey, where did y’all go crabbing at? I’m from Louisiana.
Hey, I know the location thanks. It was a good video.
I cant believe how many you caught!!
I used to go with my dad over by Fort Pike and catch crabs
I caught many of crabs there over the years. I'm from Those gators can be a pain in the butt at times
No fishing license required to crab in VA, including the Chesapeake bay.
USA..I'm going grabbing tomorrow 😂
Great day
Like your videos
Thank you!
Boil ?
Beats dry, bland steamed crabs that’s for sure
Can you catch them in November???
Yeah if it’s a warm day it probably best
Delicious, way better then them reds
Yeah man! Thanks for watching to the end! 🙏🏻
What wait??? You have a boat and go to land to crab??
You have to take a boat to the dock and that’s where the crabs like to stack up 🤷🏻♂️
Crabs get the sauna treatment (steamed) not boiled.
Hell naw, dry and bland and for me
@@fallingtidetv not doing it right then.
Plenty of videos on how to cook. Apple cider vinegar, water, 1 beer, JO spice #2,
None of that belongs in crabs 🤣 I’m sorry but I trust Louisiana folks with food more than anywhere else in the world. I can promise you if you tired these you’d never eat them any other way.
@@fallingtidetv I am sticking with the Chesapeake bay region. I am a native Delawarian born and raised. Delmarva.
Everyone has their taste! Lol thanks for watching the video!
I grew up in southern Maryland and that was the only way to catch crabs, with string and chicken necks. Males only.
Other people would like to catch nice crabs too it’s not so much is people ganging up around your spot but there seems to be enough room there for everybody that was there you say that he should have a whole pier to himself That’s not very sportsmanlike if you ask me

YOU NEED A CAMERA MAN
Yeah I do lol
My God don't boil them, steam them with some JO or Old Bay......ewwwwww...WEEEEE. Alligators and boiling crabs, you guys must be from Louisiana.
The friendly feud of boiled vs steamed will forever be a thing 🤣 give me BOILED!

Prime example, we went back to this spot yesterday and it’s fished out, word got out that fast.
