HAHA! - never gets old lol. This is the band that got me out of my comfort zone and listening to more new music than just listening to all my favorites from the last few decades. More Jinjer songs I recommend are "Teacher, Teacher" - "I Speak Astronomy" - "Scissors". Other metal bands with female lead singers with my recommend song for that band is Spiritbox - "Circle With Me" | Nightwish - "Ghost Love Score (WACKEN 2013)" | Unleash the Archers - "Awakening".

I was going to suggest you react to Jinjer's band, but you did it before I had the chance! You’ve picked the best band so far. Tatiana, in particular, is an incredible vocalist-fierce and powerful, yet also soft and soulful, with unmatched talent. This is the best metal band I’ve heard, delivering authentic metal straight from Ukraine. Get ready for the storm!

They're a fantastic band with a lot of diversity in their music. Baby steps with the heavy bands. You'll learn to love them soon enough. 😉 Another great post. Cheers from Florida.

Jinjer were formed in Ukraine and vocalist Tatiana 'Tati' Shmayluk joined in 2009... the band played extreme metal w/ polyrhythmic tempos much like bands that include Meshuggah... Gojira... Opeth... Periphery... etc. Jinjer is currently rounded out by Roman Ibramkhalilov (guitar), Eugene Abdukhanov (bass) and Vladislav 'Vladi' Ulasevich (drums) ... 'Pisces' was from their worldwide debut album (2nd album overall) 'King of everything' in 2016 ... 'I speak astronomy' was a fan fave from the record and it did very in sales as Jinjer toured. Their 2014 debut album 'Cloud factory' was picked up by their label Napalm Records in 2018.
Jinjer's 3rd album 'Macro' was released in 2019... and after the pandemic, they released a 4th album 'Wallflowers'... Because of the 2022 invasion of Ukraine by Russia, members of Jinjer had to relocate outside their country... A 5th Jinjer studio album is due out in 2024...
Jinjer has a new single out - "Someone's daughter"... from the upcoming record.
Jinjer was inspired by female singers like Angela Gossow of Arch Enemy, a petite German blonde who could belt out ferocious death metal vocals... made her debut on the 2001 Arch Enemy album 'Wages of Sin'... Women in metal usually sang their vocals or did high screams/ operatic vocals (Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil, Lita Ford, Tarja Turunen of Nightwish, Floor Jansen of After Forever, Doro Pesch of Doro, Anneke Van Giersbergen of The Gathering, Sharon den Adel of Within Temptation, etc.)
Despite establishing Arch Enemy as a force in extreme metal, Angela Gossow left the band in 2013 and enlisted Alissa White-Gluz (vocals) as her replacement from the Canadian band The Agonist... Alissa also had the fierce death metal vocals and could sing melodically as well.
Besides Tatiana of Jinjer... women have continued to join the metal scene, including Cammie Gilbert-Beverly of Oceans of Slumber... Clementine Delauny of Visions of Atlantis ... Elina Siirala of Leaves Eyes ... Kobra Paige of Kobra and the Lotus... Lizzie Hale of Halestorm ... Charlotte Wessels (formerly of Delain)... Liv Jagrell of Sister Sin ... Courtney LaPlante of Spiritbox... etc. etc.

I have been following Jinjer on UA-cam for about 7 years and they are one of the best progressive metal bands today. Tatiana’s growls are called false fold vocales, she is not using her vocal cords when she growls and she can do extremely deep and powerful growls and is one of the best female growl and screamer in metal. I would recommend checking out her on stage duet with spirit box circle with me 2024. Her performance was so good it gave me goosebumps.

Best reacton ever! I hoped you would love this. The "screamer" vocal technique is a "vocal fry" which starts a bit like a whisper then with a little "hawk-tuah" added in, coupled with a shit-ton of talent and practice you get something amazing like this. When done correctly it's 100% healthy, no damage to the vocal cords. When you decide that it's time for your next Jinjer reaction my personal favorite is "JINJER - Teacher, Teacher! (Official Video) | Napalm Records". 'Scuse me while I go back and watch your reaction again! Creepy Factor = 0.

Best part of reactions is the first vocal break, almost every reactor states how beautiful her voice is (Cue the smile on the watcher's face knowing what's about to happen) and then they are flabbergasted when she growls. This is the live version, that's correct. They decided on doing this in lieu of a traditional music video (which would've featured the album audio) to, among other things, showcase their new drummer Ivan (the bald guy, obv). EVERYONE gets their minds blown when the heavy part hits.
For other Jinjer songs: You should check out 'Who Is Gonna Be The One' (the live version) AND/OR 'Judgement (& Punishment)' (Live One Take Performance by Tatiana (the vocalist))
For a song by another band: I'm gonna repeat - 'The Summoning' by Sleep Token (I know, you've got a list you're working through. No rush. Just please make sure this song's on it)
PS - Based on what you said about the beat in this & also what you said in 'Nothing Else Matters', I think you're into 6/8 time signatures (a 'looser' version of 3/4, which is the traditional 'waltz' rhythm(DING tick tick DING tick tick...))
PPS - Despite the unique spelling, it's just pronounced 'ginger' (as in ginger ale)...

False chord harsh vocals. They tend to present as super low and have almost no tonal movement, as well as being more difficult to determine what the vocalist is saying. Other vocalists who use this as their primary harsh vocals technique are Will Ramos of Lorna Shore and Chaney Crabbe of Entheos. If you’re looking for a more tonal harsh vocals technique technique, check out Courtney Laplante of Spiritbox or Haley Roughton of Gore. You can hear their voice through the harsh vocals, which also allows them to flip back and forth between clean and harsh techniques from word to word.

Funny enough Britney Spears is a major influence for Tatiana and Cannibal Corpse is a major influence for the band as well. Eugene even says in the Audiotree interview that Cannibal Corpse inspired him to write "Dreadful Moments" truthfully because "nobody cancels Cannibal Corpse"

Great reaction. Being half Filipino, I'm going to recommend you check out Marcelito Pomoy. He does an uncanny impression of Celine Dion. His performance of "The Prayer" is insane. Also, I'm from Minnesota. Let's get some Prince.

Tatiana has amazing talent to sing like angel and scream like a demon. In This Moment, New Years Day, The Pretty Reckless, Dorothy, would be other female singers to check out.

Do more reactions to Jinjer Tatiana is a total baddie you will see more of her personality through her videos this song is more of an introduction "shock value" video to reactors, but they have a lot better songs then this one.......cheers!

Lol Jinjer is ukrainian proggy djent groove metal with complex time-signature maze, polyrhythms and multi-genre blending. They are one of the most talented 4-pieces ever. Tati is one of the best overall metal vocalists and lyricists in the business.
