Don't give up on people Lindsay! The moment you do, you risk ignoring someone who might make a difference in your life. I know it's hard sometimes to keep the door open. Meeting the right person or people will more than make up for everything wrong that's been done to you. If your door is closed, that can never happen. I know it's easier to say it than to do it, but be patient, make sure you're around the right kinds of people, maybe say a prayer, and good things will happen. It's an old saying, but it's a good one: you're known by the company that you keep.

I did the same thing when I was younger and found a lady wallet with her license showing so I returned it to the address. She opened the door looked inside and saw all her important information was in it and her money. I never opened it so I didn’t know what was inside. She smiled closed the door. I was just happy to return it.

Yep. Those "giving money to a homeless person" videos always make me cringe, because it's so obvious that the uploader is just doing it to be seen of men.
Matthew 6:1 "Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven."
Matthew 6:3-4 "But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly."
