  • A Texas couple received an unexpected visit from a young boy who is looking for friends. Shayden Walker explains that his previous friends were bullies. Although the homeowner, Brennan Ray, was not home, he and the boy continued the conversation over his home camera. Ray and his wife were so touched by Walker's story they posted the interaction online, which quickly received millions of views. They also made it their mission to help Walker. Inside Edition's Les Trent has more.

everybody needs some adversity to help them grow. "Bullying" normally implies cruelly tormenting/assaulting, though, and that kind obviously should be discouraged. The vast majority of people seem to be saying that this kid is so brave and has more compassion than most adults. Is it not possible that his "bravery" came mostly from lack of self awareness? Maybe he's a little higher on that autism spectrum than average. There's no compassion in making adults feel weak compared to a 10 year old, who might not have even been thinking clearly when he knocked at that door

If the kid doesn't learn to protect himself, he's gonna be a lonely victim his entire life. Women don't want a man who needs or is accustomed to protection. They want a man who can protect them and their kids. Some day he's gonna be a father and he's gonna need to pass on to his son how to stand up for himself. It's not society's job to protect little boys, it's society's job to teach them how to protect themselves. And it's little boys job to grow-up and protect society. This safety-ism has to stop.

The parents can only do so much. Most of the bully type kids in my school growing up had very good parents. They know what they’re doing is wrong.. so what can a parent do? I suspect a lot of those parents had no idea their kids were bullies. The ball is in the kids’ court. It’s up to the bullies, the bullied, and the people seeing it happen to manage it. After all it has existed as long as people have, and will until we don’t.

@@ripeager9338 true, I know kids still roam the neighborhood in my area, they just don't go as far as I remember growing up. It's not uncommon for kids a block or 2 away from my house to come knocking on my door asking if my son or daughter wants to play. I don't let my kids roam like that unsupervised, but my neighborhood is relatively safe for this day and age.

Which really sucks because I finally have enough computers in my home for guests that they don't even have to bring one anymore lol.
Aside from that I used to play a lot of Airsoft. My goodness it was exhilarating! I loved it. I brought a bunch of people together while playing and founded my old team. I fell out of touch with them all and ended up selling all my hear after a motorcycle accident I had about 10 years ago.
Sold the bike too, eventually. I was going to kill someone the way I was riding, sigh (not proud of that, just the facts) - or myself. Glad I gave it up. I'm much safer on 4 wheels. :)

He loves 2 years-old, cause they haven't been subjected to the world.

Bro the difference between a 12 year old saying that about 2 year olds, and the binary being a decade older each lmao it's crazy 😭

I’m sure the kid doesn’t know how that would’ve been taken out of context, he’s just trying what he can to not be alone

I’m so relieved he found a really nice guy to confide in. What a gem this man is.
Poor kid glad it went well for him.

I LOVE him. He'll stand up for other bullied kids in the future. Very brave! And to donate the money is such a class act!

He's obviously such a sweet, open, honest kid. As soon as his situation went public, people flocked to him. Just goes to show how stupid and shallow kids can be that a ray of sunshine like him was lonely.
