This song is about how a guy has been looking for a lover his whole life and when he finds her, her presence becomes his peace so he's asking why are you driving me crazy. Gulay is a pashto nickname which means "sweetie" simply and the phrase used "You are the black of my eyes" is a famous phrase used to express love in pashto. So the whole video and song is about how two lovers meet, then celebrate under the moonlight whilst it rains.
What harkalay...it means whenever doesn't it?
@@Sarah-ud9ceHarkalay means 'Welcome'
And with the rain thing they ve also blended in the pashtun culture of putting ash on children's faces and praying for rain
This song is in pashto language and of course english language as well, pashto is spoken in Pakistan and in Afghanistan, you can see the rich culture and beauty of pashtoons, while the whole world see then as terrorists, infact they are the most loving caring people you will ever meet, hats off to coke studio for telling the beautiful culture of pashtoons all around the world 9:14
Warner Music Group (WMG) has partnered with Pakistani company Giraffe, one of South Asia’s leading music and audio production companies, which was co-founded by Xulfi, the stage name of celebrated artist Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan, and CEO Muhammad Ibrahim....thats why this season so modern
Kesy pta bhai?

Big Greetings from Central Asia, Tajikistan 🇹🇯 😊
Coke Studio I Love This Coke Studio International Have Brand From pakistan ❤❤❤❤❤
You’ve become old coke studio fan! 😊You’re a true coke studio fan now!
They are waiting for rain at the end Rain come and the celebrate
Im a big fan of old coke studio and havent really cared much for season 14 or 15 but this song has totally pulled me in, and btw i won't be alone in saying that Harkalay has the potential to become a worldwide hit. Im sure of it.
Bro this song
Language: Pashto+ English
Culture presentation: Arab and pashto
Country: Pakistan
Production: zulfi bhai
Studio: coke studio
That's why i say that Pakistan is 100 years ahead of whole world in music 😊😊😊
Yes Arab has also influence like many other civilizations on pakhtoon culture but it's just the influence, there is nothing Arabic here
Song is all about 2 people who want same for each other but girl is bit hesitant because of cultural difference between them.
Hey Cojak I really like your reactions you're doing a great job btw the reason of short songs is CS collaboration with Spotify and tiktok from last season as thier policy is to make short songs last year there was only Spotify and they tried to resist songs for just 6 minutes or less but now in my opinion i think they cut short more length just to be compatible for TikTok as well as Spotify
English is our official language. And we're also the 3rd largest English speaking nation.
She sounds like Camilla Cabello
ariana grande + camilla cabello
Exactly what I thought. She looks like her too!
yeah, she even looks like her....
Ya her hair style face surly , her voice better thn Camila her Voice with English Pastho lyrics O lala laalaa o lalaa lahaa Gulley sounds better thn senorita , Guley means sweetie flower .
She also look like camilla cabello
The red colour at the end is henna but its for men. We dont use it on hands but a lot of old people use it on their beard.
For women and men both
@@silentnomad84 but this one is specifically for men in our tribes.
Proud to be Pakistani..
Coke studio is the best all over the world ❤
Oh, Cojak you speak my heart out . . .i have the same problem with these CS15 songs they are too short and didn't have the flare of Musical Transitions between the Instruments during the song. Can't agree more with you!
Nescafe and older Coke Studio season never revolved around a story and video in the past as it does in the last two seasons. This limits the size because of production value as well as the concept. It's a trade-off that we do to have quality videos. Personally, i love both versions cause CS is maintaining its creativity, and they come up with something new and different each time in the video, which compliments the song. As long as they maintain it, i would like the way they are doing it.
Also i feel like they are expanding because they want to promote other artists ( video directors, craftsmen, cinematographers, dancers, set designers, costume designers ) aswell. I think thats fair,
I am loving the whole experience, also the views on the bts/magical journey videos, tell that it is not infact limiting any creative process , the sets are larger than life, they are doing a pretty solid job ,
I hope this will help our film industry in the future!
I was Really waiting for your reaction ❤😂🎉
Thank you Cojak for your honest reaction. You are absolutely right on shorter duration songs of Coke Studio comparative to older seasons. Songs are also now more commercialized despite of its originality as a 'studio'. But the thing is, Xulfi is now producing coke studio to also surpass the international audience. And may be this thought process has evolutionized the whole CS
Agree, the songs will always be good but it’s a new coke studio for sure. I miss the long, acoustic tracks that really took you on a journey. Gotta keep up with the social media algorithm I guess 😕
That Anamorphic lens they have used is just insane! Goes so well with everything.
The red color on their hands is "hena". The Pashtoon tribes color their hands during a wedding (in some tribes both male and female color their hands while in some tribes only women color their hands). The wedding ceremony lasts for 2 nights and two days. On the first night of the ceremony, which is the beginning of the wedding ceremony, pashtoon tribes apply henna on their hands to color their hands for the wedding ceremony. It's a symbol of joy and happiness.
I think they r following the current trend and yes they r trying to appeal the younger audience pak is 60 percent younger population between 20 to 39 yrs of age
Oh my God! You are so on point!
Cojak your reactions are among the deepest out there
Pashto is a phattan culture and pashton community is a real Vikings in the world ❤
09:07 , its a mehndi
Hina (Mehendi)
She is like a singing bird appearing in the song so sweet
Good observation
today I just entered my office and started a discussion over the same aspect. Coke Studio has really missed its old flare, even though I doubt these are recorded songs. Coke Studio was known for its instrumental music, which has now become totally techno.
Dear your explanation is better than others reactions 😊, even you don’t understand this language.😊
Great reaction!!! I agree with you 100%. This year I guess they’re trying a different approach but it’s not working for me. You’re right about modern instruments and shorter song. It feels like just another commercial music video. Coke studios have lost their edge over the rest of the world.
Its a song that gradually grews on you
I agree with you that duration of these songs should have been a minute or two more.
So awesome
Nice reaction bro ❤️
Great reaction
Great
Harkaly means welcome and kuly means to do in Pashto language. The song is about the value of a lover in life❤🇵🇰❤️
They had Hina(mehndi) on their hands... Basically it is a traditional coloring herb used amongst festivity in our region...
Love from Pakistan ❤
They songs are short because they've short changed the instrumental solos for the attractive visuals/sets/presentation.
I truly love how Zulfi explored music during his time on Nescafe Basement. Heck even his experimentation on season 14 but this season is all about going modern or one could say international.
Dare I say it, it's style over substance.
I agree with your assessment that he has been asked to rehaul the coke studio format to attract the Gen Z audience.
Its henna on hands...showing happiness,fastivity
Only one answer to all of your questions... Watch the magical journey or behind the scenes of each song. The journey is eye opener! You can thank me later! ☺️
❤
Thanks!
Thank you very much!
Nice song....
U r so quick
This tattoo on hands is called Henna.in Pashto language it’s called NAKREEZAY
PashtOon culture harkaly welcome
Watch behind the scenes
THIS LAUNGAGE IS POSHTO AND ENGLISH MIX ❤❤❤
We feel the same . New songs are a bit short ones . React to Kitni saddiyan by nescafe basement . You will like it . Its a tribute to the living legend faraz by multiple artists.

Basically Pakistan has 4 provinces, each of which is home to one of the 4 major ethno-linguistic groups of Pakistan.
- Punjab is the homeland of Punjabis
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) of the Pashtuns
- Balochistan of the Baloch
- Sindh of the Sindhi people
This song is in Pashto, the language of the Pashtuns (second largest ethnolinguistic group of Pakistan), and the visuals depict the culture of KPK
Not only Baloch people live in Balochistan, Pashtuns also live in large numbers
@Deenakan Baloch Pathaan Farsi Hazara Dari Buroi Punjabi Sindhi Hindo Christians Muslims Suni Shiya living in Balochistan, Most languages spoken in Balochistan.
Pakistan zindabad
Also, Junagarh, Bengal, Ladakh, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Hyderabad, Assam
@@agul5758 G-Up said absolutely right that they all live there because just because of one name we cannot say that only Baloch live in Balochistan.
👳🇵🇰👳nice👳🇵🇰👳👍👍👍
Zulfi Bhai 👉🌹🌹👉👍👍🙏
Kindly also check out Pakistani young music producer umair's debut album called "rockstar without a guitar" featuring so many indian pakistani artists like krsna, seedhe maut, ab17, faris shafi, youngstunners, hasan raheem, shamoon ismail, mooro, abdul hannan, asim azhar, annural khalid, rap demon, jj47 and more ♥🙏
Xulfi wollte die Kommunikationskluft zwischen jüngeren Musikern und Sängern verringern und führt daher viele neue Instrumente und digitale Musik ein. LG
Bro Young Stunners Dropped some banger albums, do check them out.
Talha Yunus too
It's giving "prince of persia" vibes. Maybe intentionally
Prince of Persia is made by Hollywood and it's actually not even Persian culture that is on display there. They took Central Asian culture and slapped on the Persian title. Central Asia consists of a lot of ethnic groups all of which have overlaps in their cultures. The Pashtuns are the largest group there.
What does it say about the younger generation that to keep their
attention you need to keep songs less than 5 minutes long?
Kindly also check out asim azhar debut album called "bematlab" ft youngstunners, hasan raheem and nehal naseem ♥🙏
Sounds like comila cobello
Desi *Camilla Cabello.
I thought the same.
das gut song oder
Cojak, Even I have the same problem. They've chosen the path of over-commercialization I believe and obviously this comes with the price of losing quality (i.e. the things that made Coke Studio Pakistan standout which is the cultural and musical revitalization of the nation)
They just have started following the standards of the market, which is to produce what the audience wants. This wasn't the legacy of Coke Studio. Are views everything...?
After focusing on cultural and traditional music for 14 seasons I guess they can be forgiven for going completely pop culture for this one.
@@zeeniashah440 I hate you!
Big faan bro from Pakistan plzzz pin my comment
I think they r also trying to break the stereotype asso with pashtoon as rigid and hard to get along or as warriors and also the androgenous looking boy bec a being a eunuch is a total no no esp in pashtoon as they r treated badly and looked down upon so giving the message of inclusivity and about the song being short it is the price to pay 4 reaching more audience and tobe on platforms like spotify and tiktok sorry 4 long para
This song is about the love of Afghanistan for America 😂😂 afghan and English fusion,
Abay salay 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yes this season sucks. Too modern, short, dance orientated.
Commercialisation is making coke studio loose it's soul, what made it special in the first place.
There are some good elements especially in the first song but that's it.
