@@jaelte Fair point, and pressuring your opponent is indeed important. But I like Tocasia's in a deck like this better, where the 2/3 flyer isn't as important.
Not so much anti-synergy as a bit of a nonbo. If Vraan was the only death trigger, then Drivnod wouldn't have a home here for sure. But they both work well with the same pieces - reminds me a bit of Doom Foretold Yorion piles since they both liked the same cards. That was one of my favorite decks during that standard!
Ngl when I saw Tocasia's Welcome in the decklist I thought you were just being cute for refusing to play Wedding Announcement. But after that first game I'm convinced. This is the card you want over wedding (well in this deck anyway).
Unfortunately it shares a format with Rite of Oblivion. If there is a real BW aristocrats build, it definitely wants Rite of Oblivion. It has flashback and answers enchantments and planeswalkers. Now, when Rite rotates...
@@shapied Unfortunately I don't think it's good enough in a world of Wedding Announcements and Wandering Emperors. I'd say hitting those permanents is more important (also when you can win with poison, attacking battles becomes pretty undesirable). Definitely see what you're saying though. And hey, we'll see how it all pans out! I think this set is going to bring some exciting things to the format.
I saw Crokeyz flip it then when he attacked and his entire team got counters I was like "wtf, what does this equipment do exactly?" 😂 I had to read it again. But yeah it looks powerful. I think most people dismiss it because they assume that flipping battles is very difficult but it's not. Especially when the front side clears their best blocker.
I know the next days have already recorded videos, but let it be known that I also think you can place yourself on the top right of the video, instead of middle left I saw someone commenting on this last time you played a deck that got a lot of creatures on the battlefield, and it really makes sense. On the end of the first game, I did not see it was lethal until the attack came and those sneaky mites came from behind you to strike the enemy dead. (maybe I could pay more attention to the board developing and know they were there, but I'm usually doing the dishes when I watch your videos, so I miss some things)
This runs in to the problem of covering either the amount of cards in hand, recent cards in graveyard/ general size of the opponents remaining deck, the lands oppo has available, oppos cards playable from exile, or (least importantly) oppos name. Having a face cam is always a trade off of what information is going to be lost, but the pet section on the left consistently is left unused. Those games where the amount of creatures stack up to where it’s impossible to see are quite rare.
Day 13 of asking CGB for a shrines deck video. Fun fact, they are currently breeding the old form of bananas (the one that runtz bannas taste like) in order to resist the very disease that nearly wiped them off the planed.
You can try this deck already before MOM you just need to replace the few cards from MOM with some stuff from current set, it is fun but you get rekt in current standard
The deck is pretty much built around the sac outlet that is in MOM. Yes, it will obviously lose if it's missing its core component and several other important and powerful cards. This is not news.
It does not really have that many mom card, you also have an exact copy of the sacrifice draw 2 in standard just 2 mana instead of one but fulfill the same purpose, the deck is fun and enjoyable but in a competitive environment like standard it does nor perform well.
The sacrifice outlet in question is Bloated Processor. This deck wins its games on the back of Processor and cards that are good because of it. Vraan desperately wanted an on-demand sac outlet, for example, because that easily doubles its power. Welcome also badly wants ways to effectively generate creatures on opposing turns, and an easy one there is Chorus + Processor; Mirrex isn't a great way to achieve that goal. In general the deck also badly needed muscle. There are a lot of big phyrexians but they're mostly bad, hard to summon, or both, but we watched a game here where a Processor just got to wall a Thrun. The card does so much that the deck didn't have great access to. Corrupted Conviction is also excellent; it shouldn't take much to see the value of cutting a card's Mana cost in half. But yes, the Processor deck is bad without Processor in it, especially if you aren't actually adapting the other slots appropriately.
@@Kestral287 Had to come back to update, indeed it is bloated processor single handedly carrying out the games, only this card is making a huge difference

Love seeing some underrepresented cards come together with new cards for a whole new archetype that slaps - great vid.
Two solid content creators. GG Swayze.
Tocasias welcome is such a value machine. The new welcoming vampire.
Even better, because it doesn't care about power, just MV. And it's harder to kill than Welcoming Vampire.
@@CanadianBaconPwnage Perhaps mostly better, but its lack of body is also a downside in that it can't smack for 2 in the air.

I was so excited seeing Swayze first match
4:43 "would ya like to block the chorus?" "Of chorus"
skrelvs hive into tocasia is some magical Christmas magic
Plus Merix on their turn
Sweet deck! Vraan and Drivnod are a bit of anti-synergy because Drivnod doubles the trigger, but Vraan only triggers once a turn ;-;
Drivnod is trash only triggered one time for the life lost too. Should have lost 4 only lost 2.

Swayzeeeee great to see him. I think this was his first or second game playing the MOM prerelease xD
