- What? You mean you can move about the airport freely in the non-movement but can't move about freely in the movement area? What gives? Watch and find out in this video excerpt from Rod Machado's 40-Hour, Interactive Private Pilot eGround School.

Thanks again Rod!
Soooo many small details of aviation are nicely hidden from the average pilot… like finding a run-up area at a larger airport. 😀
Thank you!
Couldn’t have gotten to Commercial-Multi-Engine (in progress) without Rod Machado’s books. He’s a legend. 🙏🥇
Thank you, RY. I sure do appreciate the comment very much!
Best,
Rod
no. It really is like that. That is exactly how their meetings go
Made me laugh!
Getting familiar with all such things as airport markings, is an excellent time for using the capabilities of current "Desk Top" simulators! Flight Instruction should (by now!) be including much more 'simulator' time in lieu of expensive, noisy, constantly being interrupted by ATC, aircraft time. But FAA, Transport Canada, etc. etc. and flight schools are slow to adapt, it seems. I Love the animations and videos by Rod Machado - where were you 50 years ago when I was instructing!!? grin. Thanks, Rod.
Yes, today's simulators are an excellent way to help convey airport signage ideas. And thank you for that nice comment, too. I do appreciate it.
Best,
Rod
Thanks, Rod...Mark
Awesome!
Funny intro! but a good lesson!!
"Unless of course Machado decides to explain it" 🤣
I learned how to fly because of you in flight simulator x
I suspect this is a contraction of the more descriptive terms: "controlled-movement area" and "uncontrolled-movement area". At least, that's how I justify it in my head.
hilarious!
