Catching a Muskrat in a Beaver Trap

- I checked my choke point sets for beavers on a beaver lodge I trapped and I managed to catch a muskrat instead of any beaver! I still skinned him up and put him in the freezer for a future meal, nothing goes to waste! I just wanted to show where I choose a choke point spot for beaver trap sets.

One things for sure, you wont starve if the grocery store closes. Lots of survival skills. What kinds of fish are in that area?
lol Thanks ken. Theres quite a few species in this river, trout, pike, bluegill, crapie, walleye, salmon, bass and plenty of other species. I'm not big into fishing but I think with my new boat I'll get out more this spring.
hello fellow trapper, caught a muskrat in the video we put out today in a 330 . here ,they den up with the beaver and are usually the 2 and 3x size rats
I have been seeing so many rats in these areas I trap I know there's no way I will avoid catching them. I'm going to try baited sets soon. Good luck trapping this year!
@@TheHuntForDinner just set 1.5 coilsprings on all the feed beds and crawl outs
@@judithdandavis2206 👍 I just bought a bunch of 110 stabilizers I plan on setting a bunch of them out too.
@@TheHuntForDinner you can use 110's as baited sets by putting a piece of carrot on the trigger wires.
