Really wish Korg would reissue the desktop MS-20M. It really had everything you'd want plus all the common mods to enhance the sound and volt per octave control.
In case anybody wanted to find the creator of that nifty MIDI controller read out gizmo, search for Kristoffer Lislegaard. This is the correct spelling per the man himself.
Im a firm believer in using good consumer level speakers for mixing, I don’t spend anything on monitors. 🤷♂️🏌️♂️ i used to 20 years ago and it doesn’t make a diff to me.
10:00 I totally agree , cherry audio's emulations are far from accurate , the arp 2600 aliases like a mopho when doing osc sync . For me it's just a mediocre company that puts out average to good sounding instruments , but they are really no masters of analogue modelling I guess their target audience are people with not a lot of cash to spend and who don't have the original to compare it with in the first place
Love Steve Hiller’s happy place but when I see him in his white room.. I can’t help but be reminded of George Lucas’s early 1970’s SiFi cult classic movie, THX-1138 with a bald Robert Duvall
That bespoke “Star Wars” studio is to me the same thing as with the Wilson super high priced speakers. It's a money thing. He most likely has so much money that when he gets bored he just makes a new studio. No 1 on my forbidden interior things is coloured lights. Can't stand that in a working environment.
Hi Thomas, TOTALLY different use of DSP.... basic voicing compared to timing/phasing alignment.... this is why the Kii's add about 11ms of latency, making them unusable in certain situations.... there IS obviously some A/D - D/A conversion going on in the MM12's but it's not perceivable at all.... and if I'm honest they are permanently left on "Flat" anyway. I'm not damning the Kii's at all... they can sound great (although with the DSP switched out they sound merely average) but the end result was always "They sound great FOR THEIR SIZE".... I tried then with the BXT's which merely made them work less and allowed a bit more weight.. but in the end out of all of the monitors I tried these were the first to bite the dust, simply because of the trust issue.
Having a window is good also to focus your eyes to farther distance from time to time, to "flex" sight a bit, it's probably also brighter outside... (video stamp: around 50th minute)
We lost Steve for a bit there. Broken connection, briefly. Which reminded me of a show were (I think it was) Gaz kept breaking up badly and much hilarity inside. Does anyone remember that show? I guess it was from a good few years ago. Was fucking brilliant 🤣

Nick Batt - the Murray Walker of Synth Tech. National treasure. Great show as always.
Or the Prof Bunsen Honeydew of acoustics?
I love Ty - so honest and upfront.
Ty is searching for the term “diminishing returns” when describing the speakers.
Love the banana on the desk :)
Review coming soon

Again, great way to exit the show with "What you been doing?". Thoroughly enjoyed!
I love the way Ty pronounce the word years

I am starting to believe we all need an MS-20 on the shelf to have a "proper" studio.
Got a link to the Jon sine video of the star wars theme studio please?

Trello is a great workflow tool
They need to rerelease the PS-3300

I nearly went for the PS-20 at that price, but the DRM they've used put me off.
Most money on monitors are my focals
Head phones and their only $4,000. My regular speakers are like $300.00 if that..lol

What if you wanted to listen to those big speakers in the tub? What then?
Is the banana on Nick's desk some kind of clue to something, or is it a random banana?
Just a banana...
Sometimes a banana is just a banana.
Although white seems to be Steve‘s color the sharpness is missing…😂
I think his bandwidth was not so good today
Barefoot also dsp speakers like Kii's Three actually

@@tyunwin3858 ok ! thanks for the details, because from the manual of barefoot, i found it hard to understand what the dsps are doing. great to know

Matthew Herbert needs a garlic press in his studio
Ty’s studio looks nice and all but let’s be honest... a ninja turtle theme would really take it to the next level.
The Line 6 DL4 would take centre stage in a TMNT themed studio.
Cherry audios stuff is all nice.. and It's all inexpensive...

Thumbs Up .... and it hasn't even started streaming yet !!! (as late today ... again) 😁👍🎹🎶🍻
Banana gang!
that bit about the star wars studio was unwatchable.
Why bother if the video is going to skip and stutter so much?
