I think although there is factual analysis in what James said, there is a fair point to acknowledge there is that often the companies bosses, political leaders and other leaders have been, scientifically, proven to be leaning towards narcissism. However, the most important characteristic in a leader is not his ability of being narcissist but his capacity EMPATHY. #Thatswhatsmissing.

To believe that ppl were flocking to the beach in Bournemouth because they saw Dominic Cummings get away with his violation, instead of course that it was hot as hell and ppl had developed extreme cabin fever from months of being cooped up in their houses is utter balls! Yes the British Government has managed to save neither lives nor the economy because of their incompetence but far too many ppl pretend not to understand that once the virus had become endemic there was little that could have been done. Had the government locked down hard before the virus numbers began to warrant it they would have been accused of overreacting and once the virus took off it was too widespread for lockdowns to prevent mass casualties already baked into the spread. But this is what you get when you elect weak leaders that attempt to govern by sticking their finger in the wind to tell which way the public opinion is blowing rather than with commitment to principles, ideas and conviction. If they’d had the balls to stay the course with constant advisories and less draconian restrictions at least they’d have experienced the economic and social benefits and would have had something to show for their efforts, a la Sweden. In the end they got just as much death (more per capita than Sweden even) but racked up huge public debt, destroyed jobs, likely caused many deaths from disruptions to medical services and universal condemnation on the left and the right of their handling of the crisis. Well done Boris you managed to get the worse of both worlds!

I've booked a flight from Canada back to the UK for Christmas. I have no idea, at time of writing, whether I'll be allowed to come back or what restrictions will be in place. This government has been tested with a new virus like every other government across the world and I did genuinely have some sympathy for them. However, the incompetence and the arrogance of the Tory front bench has withered that sympathy to anger and disgust. If I'm allowed to fly will I have to quarantine? If so, for how long and where? I'm hoping my Christmas dinner will be with my recently widowed Mum or it might be a chesse and pickle sandwich from WH Smith at Heathrow. I don't know and neither, crucially, do the government. I don't want sackings or resignations, I want them to do the job they were elected for which is - amongst other things - to show strong leadership. Let's face it, they've NEVER got to grips with this pandemic and it's about time they did.
@Lisa Purvis Yes, I do Lisa. Because unlike Macron in France or Boris. Corbyn doesn't have a economic liberal bone in his body. I know the press would have crucified him for every decision but if he survived the initial onslaught Britain may be closer to where I live, South Korea which have a smaller population than Britain but still a highly populated yet there has never been full lockdown. Also, he'd never allow kids to starve or have pointless battles over a tiny amount of refugees coming over on dingy's.
@Lisa Purvis But we can look at voting record. We can look what people do in the community. No one is perfect. But good governance is good governance. And when we look at comparable countries Italy, Germany, France, Spain we in the UK especially England have faires atrociously 44 thousand compared 37 thousand deaths in France, 34 in Italy , 34 thousand in Spain. 10 thousand in Germany. Only Spain and Belgium have faired worse. We also, know with almost certainty that a Corbyn government wouldn't be wasting 12 billion on test and trace.
@Lisa Purvis I hate to break it to you Lisa Excess deaths to over 64,000 excess deaths in the UK. So the amount of people dying is far higher than a normal year. I also hate to break it to you there is a virus. Which is deadly to the over 75s. If you think there's a conspiracy you aren't worth talking to.

I think although there is factual analysis in what James said, there is a fair point to acknowledge there is that often the companies bosses, political leaders and other leaders have been, scientifically, proven to be leaning towards narcissism. In fact, narcissism is a trait that helps leaders to have a high level of self confidence necessary to be a good leader. The government has made a mess of an impossible situation. However if everyone who has made a mistake should resign James should have resigned when he made unforgivable remark to a father concerning sending his child to school, and if the child died it would be his fault. Really cruel awful interview. He should have resigned or been dismissed.
Are you saying that 46,000 people could have been saved? How? Was the lockdown a mistake or did it not go far enough? The lockdowns in Spain, Italy and France were far more draconian than ours and yet tens of thousands have perished there too. Please do educate us with your greater intellect.

@South London He is a realist.
Whether he comes off as "negative" or "positive" has to do with how "grounded" the listeners opinions/views are.
@South London I'm going to be honest...i enjoy listening to him deconstruct half baked opinions on issues.
A lot of us don't really think things through when choosing a side on an argument...and at the same time we entrench ourselves behind it.
(Human nature is to justify any choice we make as the best choice...if it weren't the best choice...then why would we choose it?.)
Is he a bit of a cheeky twat to his callers? More often than not...but if you are going to put your opinion on national radio (public display) it needs to be able to stand scrutiny.

I took Dominique Cummings advice and went for a drive to test my eyesight and realised I needed glasses when I couldn't read the signs on the motorway , not until the police pulled me over for driving on the wrong side .
I did similar when I was at a party drinking all day. I wasn't sure if I was rat arsed so decided to settle the argument with the party host. I drove home. In the morning i realised my bumper was hanging off and i had blood and hair in the grill.... now, how that happened I've no idea, but i phoned the host and said I must have been bladdered because someone damaged my car last night and I heard nothing.

This is my first time watching this: three years, six months, and five days after its publication. It's a pretty depressing reminder of how things were, and also of how much worse things got.
And this is just the tip of the iceberg 🤦♂️
“Dont blame me, i voted for Jeremy Corbyn”.
You know if Obrien and a few more liberals just accepted that Corbyn was the only chance for the UK. We might not be in this mess now.
@Lisa Purvis Lisa, rarely listen to the BBC as it is full of Tories run the the right of this country to amplify the Conservatives liberal agenda. I would say on the political compass I'd fall somewhere social liberal, northern European left-wing.
