It is Nvidia's fault though. The launch prices of the 3000 series were never the real cost of their cards. That pricing was there to give Nvidia a good look in front of the press during product reviews, and Nvidia just produced a small quantity so that the losses they took were not too significant. Their cooler design was insanely expensive after all. The real cost of the cards and the cooling required to handle their incredible power draw was passed onto the AIB's to make it work. That is why they're looking for alternative forms of business such as selling GPU's to retailers packaged with other products they make, such as PC accessories, to bring in revenue.

It's not just covid, miners, and scalpers. AMD's priority customers are console makers Sony and Microsoft, and system integrators like Dell and Lenovo. AMD learned from the past 5 years that no matter what it puts out, Nvidia's mindshare is just so strong that people will always an Nvidia product over an AMD one. So this isn't AMD fan's fault, but rather, the PC Master Race stupidly creating a monopoly(Nvidia and Intel) that loves to sell overpriced products featuring server-grade hardware that gamers don't need (Tensor cores). Thank goodness people have walked away from Intel, but Nvidia can sell a $2,000 4080 Ti and people will still buy it.

Yes, traditional solder is made out of tin and lead, but solder that is used in manufacturing is most of the time (if not all the time) lead-free. This kind of solder consists of like 98-99% of tin and the rest might be other metals like copper, so the price of lead is not high because of solder or does not effect price/availability of graphic cards.

I'm pretty sure the only place you're required to use lead-free solder is in plumbing. Leaded solder is a lot easier to work with so I don't see why they wouldn't use it in electronics where there's basically no downside to using lead. Just because it's better doesn't necessarily mean it's more used of course, but I would wonder why if it wasn't.

I really don't understand this. There are people still buying RTX 3050 card. Do average gamers have no clue and don't pay attention to market or performance at all? RX 6600 is a better card. Clearly RTX 4050 is going to be priced like 1070ti once was, all while delivering maybe 5600XT like performance. It probably won't even match the 2070 super, and they are going to charge basically 2070 super prices for it. In other word, ZERO generational uplift. If you charge more cost for the performance you don't have generational uplift. Generational uplift is also market metric. If you could pay for anything then it doesn't matter because you could just stick Titans in 3 way SLI or purchase a supecomputer. Cost matters. Generational uplifft and Moore's Law predicate on same cost to SKU and performance level improve at each level per generation. If it simply cost the same, there is no improvement. Therefore Lovelace has worst generational improvement of graphic cards I can even remember.
Etherium already is gone so there is no reason to charge like this. It's just stupid. It doesn't matter if you can afford them if it is shitty product with shitty prices. Fermi runs cooler than 40 series cards. FERMI is cool compared to it. And it cost so much more money. Basically it is like buying RDNA 1 and Turing cards. The whole point was to make 4k gaming a reality anyway, but clearly affordable 4k gaming was technically possible, but the megacorps made it impossible again. I could have paid thousands of dollars for 2080ti SLI with 1200w PSU and overheating 900k CPU and $900 monitor years ago. It's still high TDP, high cost, just new names.

Jensen just wants to murder the used market. Because you can't keep mafia cartel prices with many used cards flooding market, that is why they made cheap shitty mining cards without display out, locked down crap that would be directly ewaste than fall into gamer hands, and funniest thing they clearly put those 12gb of VRAM onto 3060 just because it was originally meant to be in mining racks probably. That made 3060 the more attractive mining card, opposed to 3060ti and 3070 which had fewer VRAM. At least I can think no other reason for cripple the 3060ti, 3070, 3070ti, and 3080 but still put adequate VRAM onto 3060, unless they think 3060 performance will age so poorly enough you begin having frame drop before hitting the VRAM issue. I swear they design these to break.
I think they will make shitty thing like Stadia and geforce NowTM into mandatory features by pricing all card out of the market until only oligarchs can afford to own GPU, then make GPU as a subscription service so they fully control all monopoly supply on hardware, I mean physically control it like some NATO country murdering Gaddafi to physically steal and hoard Libyan gold. This will eliminate the need to find sneaky weird shit to cripple and destroy their used market, if there is no used market anymore. Thank God Intel and AMD was still there. Problem, if people stupidly keep buying crapcard liek 3050 and 1630 or even pay for GT710 for some psychotic reason and consumers are too ignorant. That is why these companies want gullible childlike consumers, the physical child is the model consumer, irrational, stupid, impulse driven, over emotional and not logical, forgetful, self absorbed, easily influenced by company propaganda. The worst thing to happen to tech companies is tech journalism exposing their failings to the market. Sadly so many these companies fail(((( from Gigabyte to MSI anything, ASRock throwing a butthurt at their shitty cheap board, nVidia and Apple anything, Dell and HP anything, increasingly Lenovo act like HP you know Legion now have proprietary shitboard too? So don't buy a Lenovo prebuilt either. Or maybe it was Asus started doing that too.
