    Uni-T meter on everything from motorcycle DC to 480AC!
    Any filtering on that glycol? Looked a bit muddy.
    Facility should check that dead system for burnout just to know if they have a reserve of good R22, or hazardous waste.
    Nice change of pace from beater prep tables, thanks for the ride along!

    I live close to one of only a handful of Walmart stores which were built with a glycol chiller system. They had tremendous issues with heat rejection.

    Those compressors look like compressors manufacturer by a company called Maneurop,they hit the market where i live around 1990's. There gig was that it was a double compressor shell housing which they say acted like a suction accumulator, and there single phase 230 volt compressors were just that not 208/240 which was a problem you had to add a buck &boost transformer as they had trouble starting on a 208volt system, needless to say not impressed at all

      I’ve worked on one of these systems before in San Francisco. It was from the late 90’s I believe. They used it for a soup chiller 134a system with 10ton txv haha

    • @LMSILVIA
      @LMSILVIA Рік тому +2

      A bunch of them here in south America they are from Danfoss, they are not bad and haven't experienced that voltage issue here and we run 208 when everything is perfect which is not usually the case 19-201 is more usual tho all i service are 3 phase.
      Reliable but LOUD mofos.

    Are you wearing the plastic gloves because of the 480v, or to keep hands clean, never worked on 480v, always 575v or 208-230, I hear that 480v is a beast, not like the plastic gloves are rated for electrocution, but may if back of hand rubs something while checking voltages.

    Did you find out why they hard wired the pump ? Control issue?

    • @throttlebottle5906
      @throttlebottle5906 2 роки тому

      probably system full of schmutz and goes into cavitation on startup vs. pumping like it's supposed to. so they wired to run full time, instead of rebuilding much of the system to fix cavitation issues. manual cycling the outlet ball valve slowly is likely all it takes to get it flowing again. 🤔

    • @shine-cg9uf

      @@OcRefrig Inficon D-Tek stratus is better. That cloud hunting mode has saved my bacon more than once already. Amazing how it can pick up a leak when the leak isn't even in the box. It was up in the attic, line set leak....my Dad had the OG GE H10, he swore by it to find tiny R12 leaks in reach in fridges back in the day. But I've been able to pick up even natural gas leaks too small to get bubbles from... just a tiny hint of smell if I put my nose right on the union that I didn't have lined up quite right with the D-tek
