Nokia lumia 920 in red have it as my secondary phone . Still works like a charm . There's phones were build to last . My phone is 7 years old from 2013 .
Wow! I cant believe the 1020 actually arrived! Cant wait to watch all pocketnow;s footage!! Now, please go to a club show or a concert in an arena, film in 1080 and lets hear the Nokia Rich Recording technology in all its true glory! Seriously.... its the biggest deciding factor for me in buying this phone. Quality concert footage is a must!

Hi Allan, I myself own a 920 for quite some time now, but I'm seriously considering getting a 1520 or 1020. At the end of the day I guess 1520 is way to big to normal usage, so 1020 it is. But pls could you tell me, do you prefer 1020's AMOLED vs 920's IPS LCD screen? i.e. I also own Dell Venue Pro with AMOLED screen and I like it more than 920's one (nevermind the resolution where Nokia clearly wins!). The thing is, I haven't got a chance yet to see 1020 and 920 displays side by side :(

Michael, so in your opinion, if a 920 user were to switch up to the 1020, it would only be because of the camera?

I've been the proud owner of a 920 for about 9 months now and I love it!
Were the 1020 available to me right now (I've still got 15 months contract to run) I'd probably go for it but by the time I'm due for renewal there'll be something even hotter on the market I'm sure.
One thing is certain; Android would have to come up with something truly outstanding for me to switch environments and iOS won't ever get a look in.

But I am asking myself, why it reads "Carl Zeiss | Tessar 2.0/26" on the back of your L920 while on my 920 it says "Nokia | Carl Zeiss"
I've got a Lumia 920 and bought my GF a Lumia 520 today (we both had a samsung omnia 7s before this) and i'ts really awesome. I wish more people would give WP8 a try

Design is definitely more refined on the 920 with the 1020 being more functional than stylish. I really hope the successor to the 920 retains the Nokia smile and the glossy colors. I forgot how hot red looks on the 920.

I was looking to buy the 1020 , now I think I might just go for the 920. I have a Galaxy note 1 and enjoy using that but I have been wanting a Nokia again, this could be it. I also am a windows 8 user and am looking forward to that on the phone. Thanks for the review.
My Lumia 920 is daaaaamn good phone, extremely good. before 920 i had 800 and it was as incredible as 920 - but of course, some upgrades.
i love taking pictures with my Lumia 920 in low light while my father with Samsung Galaxy S4 is taking a pho... i mean a black photo with no details on it. you can't see almost anything on Galaxy S4 in low light, so here we go - Lumia 920 is very good choice for much less price.
the next phone i will change my 920 for - i think it'll be 1520, but only with pen :)

Yes, some days ago I got the awaited Amber update and it added several really nice new functions to my Lumia 920 such as the Pro Cam app!
When are you going to release the Clash of the Titans : 1020 vs 808 ? I've seen not one ,but multiple examples of poor lens quality of 1020 , i would like if you could do a great comparison of it :D. We would all appreciate it !

How about the projecting of the Camera on the 1020 case?...when putting the phone down? How protected is the lens? 920 still looks like the winner for size (in pocket), camera (when updated), and protection of lens/flash etc. in the real world. Wondering?

Nokia 920: 85 - 100 USD you can get one
Nokia 1020 >200 USD
I think it is very evident, that 920 is a better phone for it's price. 8.7MP is a resolution you can print almost lossless on an A3 paper (13 x 22 inch), while I am also want to buy once a Pureview camera phone, just to experience the lossless zoom :-)
(I hope the restarting Nokia in 2017 wlil bring a 100MP camera phone you can zoom an 5MP picture 10x without loosing any detail)

What annoys me is that people wanted the PureView on the Lumia, whilst knowing the size of the original, and then they complain about the size of it on the 1020. It's clearly a lot smaller than the original.

i think the dual contact point at the back of the 1020 is needed for the huge camera adapter with the additional battery und the larger camera button

Sadly deep into 2016, the Lumia 1020 is still the undisputed champion when in manual mode. Happily, I bought my camera when it first came out and after heavy usage, it still works perfectly and only the aluminium camera casing has every the slightest sign of ageing!
been a nokia fan for 15 years now...for the moment i have N8. 920 is next for me.
Love Nokia and Windows... Hope they give all of us a great alternative to IOS and Android.
Only people that have the phone really knows what the con and pros for them. I currently using my 1020 and Xperia Z, gotta say I spend a lot on 1020 than Xperia Z.
it's depend on the region where you buy the phone. AFAIK the international version have Nokia branding where some like american carriers have carl zeiss tessar at behind

1020 may have the xenon and more RAM, but the design of the 920 is far more minimal and sleek, not to mention it has wireless charging built in if that's your thing.

Yeah you can, the official Instagram is not on Windows Phone yet but there is a client with all of the features of the real thing called Instance. Official UA-cam is already on the store but there are other improvement apps in it that allow for playback of MUCH higher quality videos instead of the crap that UA-cam usually is on mobile phones.

Fluid with 8 core processor. That's what it needs to run it lag free. These Lumia phones run buttery smooth with only 1.5 GHz dual cores.

I have both phones and honestly once I got used to the 1020 and it's colors and feel, when I pick up the 920 I'm like what the hell is this thing. Completely different phone. I'm glad they did something to their updated phone unlike Apple whose iphone is still the same as the 2007 phone except the headphone jack on the bottom and the charger is universal lol. Oh that's right, it has the mission impossible print scanner, pretty useful if you don't want your sister getting into your phone..
