I have started model work like this, and I really wanted to do a NASCAR model one time. This makes me want to find one, but it’s hard to one for good price.
You build in a different direction than i do but the way you build seems to cut time and looks alot easier and more of a way to detail parts to the kit. I really enjoyed your builds and i am gonna share those of to my favorites list. Great built btw.
What I did is drilled out the holes with a drill bit just larger than the hole (on the rotors). If you go to large just glue the wheels on. To be sure before you drill on the model, just test on a spare piece of plastic first.
Great video and great work on the car... Looking forward to seeing more now that I am subscribed. Where do you get your Nascar models? I'm not really finding this one except on the bay and it seems pricey.
Thank you for the compliment! Good news is, I have few a of this particular model that are being done with other paint schemes/ drivers. That being said, Bad news is I have found only one locally and the rest were bought off the bay. They should cost around $25usd.
Thanks for the tip. I just found Danica Patrick's Ford Fusion for $17 on prime and ordered two. I am not much of a fan of hers so I'll have to buy a different paint scheme kit. Where's the best place to get those? I didn't even think about as I am new to this hobby.
No worries. What I did is went to mikesdecals.com and searched, find a colour scheme, driver, decal set that catches your eye. If you are new to the hobby I suggest sticking with the newer kits (Fusion and Chevy SS) as they go together very well compared to old kits. They also have pre-painted windows which is great for new people. Also sticking with newer kits allows newer modelers to take advantage of good decals. Old sets/ decals may need prep work so avoid that if you are new. Powerslide decals from mikes are awesome, slixx decals need extra care due to their age. If you picked up the fusions tho you don't have to worry about much as all the decals for that car body are new anyways.
Hey thanks for the advice... I appreciate it. Great to hear this newer kit will be better for me. With great YT channels like yours I am learning a lot fast but I still need experience, but that is the fun part. I'll be going through all your older videos to see what else I can learn.
I paint the inside black to have something there, it should be gray tho, it is more for a piece of mind also. I do clear over my decals, I usually use a Vallejo acrylic gloss.
Rick Hammond, the colour is USN Light Ghost Grey, Vallejo Surface Primer: 73 615. I believe Testors makes the same colour in bottles and spray cans. Not sure what the RLM code is. I believe same brand (Vallejo) 73.601 is a more accurate colour but on camera it looks almost white and since the plastic is molded in white, it really didn't look like it was sprayed on. I like how the USN LGG looks in real life and camera and if I recall some kits actually called out for that colour many moons ago.

Love your channel, I'm getting back into the hobby. I'm currently working on raybestos sponsored Ford nascars.
You didn't show how you fixed the wheels on, the pins are very tight.

thats too bad the ride height seems a little high. i wish revell did those kits with just a smidge lower ride height
why bother painting inside black? Cannot see when model is done. Do you ever clear coat over decals?

You can see the inside
What color and brand did you use on the chassis?
