- On March 24,1970, while testing at Talladega International Speedway, Stock car driver Buddy Baker, driving a Dodge Charger Daytona, became the first person to surpass the 200 MPH barrier on a closed course.
This model is in honor and memory of that historic event.
Seeing as how I have been a auto mechanic for over 35yrs and a mopar lover (I own a 69 superbee) I know just a little bit about these cars. Seeing this build I am amazed by the level of detail and accuracy. Drum brakes including springs at 1/25th scale????? And the dash!!!!All I can say is Wow! Well done sir.
Thank you very much my friend!! I’m a Mopar lover myself! LOVE those SuperBees! Thanks for watching!
You are clearly the man of MOPAR models!
Thanks Mike!! I do love MOPAR!!

Thank you very much my friend!!
Nice build, lot of people don't know that this car started it's life as hot rod magazines HEMI 4speed charger 500,that was stolen stripped and later recovered to be built into a racer.
Thanks for the info and for watching Jessica!

Oh I remember this build on SAE. But seeing it now on my TV. WOW! I just got SUPER Inspired. There is a NASCAR race car of that era I have been wanting to build. Looking at this just reactivated my want to build it. I got some ideas looking at this. Nice one, Mark.

Well HEY Charlie!!! It has been a while my friend. Thanks for the kind words. NONE of these builds would be complete without lots of your awesome goodies!!!
Excellent build. What did use for wheel
studs?
Thanks Terry!! The studs are 000-120 threaded stainless rod. (1/24-1/25 scale)
You should be able to find it online.
Thanks again for watching!!
Hello Mark, I just Watched Your Unpodcast w Luka Cee and Now I'm Subbed To Your Channel. Have a Blessed Wknd Sir.
Many thanks Gary! Have an awesome weekend yourself!
You're Very Welcome n T Y Back
WOW!
Thanks Shawn!
Speaking of tires, has anyone used PPP tires? What are the o.d. and width in inches? I do a lot of parts swapping and 1/24 - 1/25 tires seem to be all over the place. Some are cartoonishly large and others seem undersized. I currently have asphalt modified projects underway. Thank you. Also, Mark, your work is phenomenal.
Thanks Rod! I use 60s and 70s PPP tires and wheels on most of my era builds. Really good stuff! I have several sets of their modified tires. I think you'll like them.
