I’m actually super glad that when you mentioned playing Time Thieves with the Adventure engine, you went further than just the nine cards everyone splashes in, and instead “Here’s a level 4 that becomes a free special and can search a revival Trap.” That makes it so much more interesting
Despite the easy Dr. Who references, the Time Thiefs designs and S/T events are more closely related and referencing a Chinese Manhua that got an Anime adaptation for one season a few years ago called Chronos Ruler (Jikan no Shihaisha). Just look at the protagonists of the Manhua and our XYZ Thiefs and you'll soon see the resemblance.
I forget The anime Went and look for it All the characters are there Mmmmm made the person who made the card was base of them they look to alike to be a coincidence
S!Force Orfist is chasing him because they’re disrupting time and when he finally confronts Redoer, Redoer explains he’s just saving someone and Orfist understands then they go out for drinks. The end.
Time thief is one of my favorite decks I really hope they get more support but using a raid raptor/PK engine makes this deck extremely solid and fun to use
Woah, I didn't thought about it.. but Time Thief Hack works really well with Jormungandr if you play Generaiders, as it can easily snatch an opponents card and then you have a beefy direct attacker.
You’re right we go the extra mile in keeping this channel going because you give us good quality videos from a good person and honestly we couldn’t ask for anything more! Keep doing what you’re doing because we love it and I do especially! I love time thief and I love your channel!
I play Time Thieves and I used all of Raider's Knight, Utopic, and Raid Raptors. Makes them very hard to predict. Time Thief Hack is low key busted if your opponent doesn't get rid of it so it's fantastic bait. I also use Phantom Knight's Rank-up Force as an alternative to Raider's Knight. Not only can it rank up a monster when the opponent doesn't expect it, but I can pivot during the battle phase with an Arc Rebellion to mass negation and a devastating attack that could be for game.
One of my favourite decks of the last decade, it's so close to being a decent rouge deck. A simple rota like spell would fix most their problems. It's just a shame redoer dies to almost every handtrap.
Well, a possible way as to how the Time part of Time Thief is flavored is with gaining/giving more material as the game continues while generally XYZ lose materials. (so in a way: reverting materials = reverting time [reverting might be the wrong word here, but i hope its clear what i mean with it...]) Could also be an explanation as to why Doublebarrel doesn't do either, they already arrived at the desired timeline...
Redoer is the monster that fits the time flavor the best. It attaches the top card from the opponent's deck (i.e. steals a card your opponent would get in the future), its monster detach effect causes it to temporarily leave the field (i.e. travel to the future), its spell effect gives you the card you would get next Draw Phase (i.e. retrieving a card from the future), and the trap effect stacks a card for your opponent (i.e. forcefully sending a card into the future)
@@JamesNintendoTurd i would argue the trap effect is more sending them into the past since it bounces them back to the top of the deck effectively meaning you need to draw or resummon them in the case of extra deck cards.
Kinda unrelated to the video but Konami definitely has an untapped wealth of media with alot of these archetypes. I can definitely see a 3 to 5 episode mini series for Time thief's. Like home pokemon does for there stuff
Time Thief as an engine in Raidraptor works wonders. I usually run the following for a TT engine: 3x Winder 3x Regulator 1x Adjuster 1x Bezel Ship 2x-3x Startup 1 Hack 1Redoer Have fun with this!
My friend (who got me into YGO) busted out a hybrid Time Thief/Utopia deck on me once, and it was a nightmare to deal with. It's pretty hard to do anything when two Utopia the Lightnings and a Redoer hit the field on turn 1.
I made a Time Thief deck not long ago and just recently added a Generaider engine of all things. Love Jormungandr in Norse myth and him with the Thief's ruin opps plans in fun ways. .....oh AND he can hit face with Hack as well.
Raiders wing is a definite 2-3 in a phantom time thief deck .Since it can either be revive/used by phantom knight cards , as it counts as a phantom knight .Plus able to revive it by detaching a material from a dark xyz monster. Finally a xyz unable to be targeted by card effect is a cherry on top of it
To be fair S-Force Orfist conflict is probably solely because Time Thieves mess with timeline. Which is usually not such a good thing, even if for the good reason.
So I actually really like the S-Force lore here better than any other archetyp they have lore with. In theory you're not playing Time Thief with S-Force, but against it. So the S-Force aren't pursuing Redoer because he's saving a little girl, but rather because he's stealing cards from their deck and disrupting police business. It's a fun little interaction in my opinion.
Just for a heads up, Time Thief Temporwhal was released for TCG in Ghosts From The Past 2 a couple of weeks before this video. It's another Machine member; the tribute effect targets and temp-banishes one enemy monster, and the revive is triggered by bouncing one of your other Time Thief monsters. It could be useful at one copy to recycle Winder or Adjuster a bunch of times, or even to send an empty Perpetua back to the extra and immediately remake her with material. The art is nothing special. Perpetua made a hoverbike, hooray I guess.
So the S Force archetype is battling the Psy-Frames and have to capture The Time Thieves!? I want an Anime of this lore/universe out of all the others. At this point and Time we don’t know what the outcome or what’s going on.

I've been running time thieves with my traptrix deck and both of them being level 4's makes getting the best boy on the field super easy. he helps fill the hand and steals problem monsters and rafflesia keeps him safe with her effect and minefield of trap holes
Time Thief Redoer is an awesome rank 4 in my Crusadia deck, he is a staple in my deck along with Bagooska, Gallant Graphite and Traptrix Rafflesia in Master Duel
Personally I probably would of made Redoer’s effect look at the top three cards of the opponent’s deck and pick one to take while goving then some means to quick XYZ with the monsters that summon themselves outside your turn.
Then im glad you are not the one making them. Time Thiefs problem is not Redoer. He, by himself, is strong enough to be played in any deck that can make a dark rank 4. The problem is that you strugle to make anything besides him. Unless you are playing a brickier version of raptors or PK.
@@felipemendes5336 I'm not saying he's weak or needs huge improvements. He's fine as is. Not seeing what your getting just isn't as fun or useful as being able to take a potential comeback card but he's not bad. Honestly though if I wanted to improve the archetype overall, Redoer would probably be the least changed. I'd say it'd be the machines mostly that get changed to have better effects to XYZ Spam and more ways to attach material for more impactful effects
Fun fact: if you run both Force Strix and singin lanius, regulator becomes a 1 card Draco future. Normal Regulator, activate effect to summon both Bezel Ship + any thief, make Force, detach ship to add Lanius, special Lanius, special ship with effect, xyz any non number, then make future, then draco
My favourit deck for about a year now (maybe more) .. i really wish konami doesn't forget them and give them proper support .. they need a rota .. and in archytype shade brig .. and to really push them .. maybe a rank up version of redoer that can steal materials just like redoer
i love time travel but its sortof imposible because if you change the past then there wont be any reason to do it in the future so you never did it and thath means thath there will be a reason so thath you do it then there wont be a reason again to the point where time turns into a infinite loop
Not gonna Lie. I really want a redoer easter egg. Like he shows up in the back ground of random cards, like a warrior in armor and in the back a confused redoer looks around.
Huh. so this archetype is basically an engine for any kind of rank 4 XYZ spam deck. Yea, that checks out. But I still would love to make one that actually works, because the time thieves are cool.
So, a friend of mine actually decided to do a "The Phantom Knights + Time Thief" deck. One of his felllw Coworkers who also plays Yugioh is afraid of that deck. Me and him decided to call that deck his "Phantom Thief" deck. And Que the Persona 5 Jokes.
It probably doesn't work this way, and I wasn't able to find any rulings on the subject, but wouldn't it be hilarious if Redoer steals a Pendulum monster and you were allowed to treat it as a monster OR spell for the detach effect?
I've never played Time Thieves much but the lore is one I found interesting. My theory before was that maybe the S-Force aren't as squeaky clean super good cops as they try to look
I just don't like how most of the player base just use the deck as extender engine for "rank 4 dark xyz" spam. You must be really based to build a Control based time thief nowadays
Why do you have temporwhaler's name written down as temporwhal and pronounce it that way, is that a nickname for it or like short for it? Or does the er make it part of a different arc type?
It's simple, S-forces is an Inter-dimensional Police. So, they will deal with everything that is messing up the universe or timeline. I thought I was the only one who saw the resemblance to Chronos Ruler. Such a nice anime that's definitely a hidden diamond.

But then he needs help from Redoer and the gang because the Psy-Frames are running rampant!
Which is understandable, wish Konami make comics of that story, will be darn interesting.
Time thief is one of my favorite decks I really hope they get more support but using a raid raptor/PK engine makes this deck extremely solid and fun to use
I know right! My Phantom Time Thieves deck is one of my favorites to play.
Wait it works with PK…Time to release hell
Ye it really fun but I use my spriggin time thief deck it hell a fun tho
What's PK?
I use it with S-force im still working the deck out but so far I love how it looks

Time thief redoer is one gem of a boss monster
I by far never expected a video on Time Thieves to have a reference to King Of The Hill.

The amount of times I've had an opponent not read chronocorder and just kill themselves it far to many.

why does the card still say that it is an unofficial translation if it's a tcg exclusive?
