Lookin Gooood. Man those windows looked heavy for sure. Good JOB!!! WHAT A VIEW!!! It was worth every ounce of effort installing those windows. God's blessings to you both and love the drone shot...beautiful. Thank you for your video.
Hi I live in England and I love watching your videos, I havent been here right from the get go but I got here early enought to see the wall go up and from the roof onwards and I have to say that I have never seen two people work so hard and you and your wife, you must be proud of yourselves for all that you have done on your own.. Its 2-30pm Wednesday afternoon here and I have just finished watching your video and I have to say I did have a little laugh when you asked your wife if she came there often, and you were cleaning her jacket, she could of replied yes almost every day.. Its good to hear you both have a laugh now and again. Keep going both of you I am looking forward to the finished home, again you are doing a great job. Both of you are nice people...
Kevin, thanks for the encouragement. We are getting there. Love this part a lot more than when we started. Hard to visualize sometimes when you are starting out. I hope this helps some people want to take on a project.
@@breakheartorchard4761 pray harder! Good things come to good people and you and your lovely family are good people. They will be there. I can't believe how different the front looks now with all the windows x
David to your place some justice. I nice big composite open air deck would be perfect for you. So you can sit back and enjoy a beverage or two when the weather is beautiful.😀😀😀😀
Looking better all the time, beautiful spot you guys have there. As always love the wink. I was just down in your neck of the woods last week, I'm up in CT.
Thank you. It was a leap of faith. When we bought it, it was completely wooded and in the middle of summer. We walked the land together, did the survey tour and in one spot, we share a fence with a cow field. Forest on our side, grass and cows on theirs. We wandered out into the field and saw what the mountains looked like from there so we knew there had to be a decent view on our place.
Windows are looking good. With the weather breaking shortly, hopefully you can get the roof on. It will be interesting to see how the electrical and plumbing will be installed in a SIP house with open beams in the center part of the house.
What is it they say location location location. That view is drop dead picture perfect. It’s going to be harder to get work done now because all you’ll want to do is look at those beautiful mountains. Congratulations on getting those windows in. Stay safe.
It's always good to see you two making progress and meeting milestones. I would think this is a very big one for you. As far as I can tell once the front door goes in the house will be basically weather tight. Again personal choice but given your view I think I would have gone with the windows adjacent to the door as picture windows and only had the outer two as casement windows, the other side of the same argument is symmetry across the front of the house which seems to have been your choice. Either way this is going to be a bright and spacious great room. Keep your energy and spirits up!!
Haha Lloyd. I did not think I would drop it, but I think that was the hardest window. Was a bit tired by that time and the angle was weird. The struggle was real.
@@jefannavital2187 That's exactly what I thought. There was a lot of windows going in yesterday plus they were the big ones. Talking about the strength of a woman
It's called snake away, snake repellent, or something like that. My husband found out at Tractor Supply. I know cinnamon is in it and other ingredients. I think it's all natural too.
There are days that you don’t want to do it. And a few where we wondered what we were thinking to start something this big. But most of the time has just been having faith in the process. Knowing that the hard work would bring completion. The little mundane tasks are the ones I find the hardest to do but they are also the difference be tween a good job and a great one.
I just realized that I didn’t really answer your question. I find it more exciting now than at the beginning. We have momentum and we have so much done that it feels undeniable.
Dear Biz, For me this is much more exciting now. I have never built anything before this. We started with shovels digging out soil for the plumbing wastes pipes. Was not exciting stuff for me. It took a lot for me to envision how this house would look. David laid out the perimeters a few times and would say, “this is your kitchen etc. I needed carrots along the way. There are days when lunch is my highlight. 😀
@@jefannavital2187 I like the style of house you selected. We are in the planning phase. It’s just a large undertaking for DIY. I enjoy seeing your progress. It’s inspiring!!
May I asks what is the actual size of the window (5:30) & price of it & where to buy to install it myself? My lousy casement windows were made by *Pella. Never buy from them. I got scammed because they said wood was the best. * Pella casement had metal on the outside & the rest, all wood. Wood rotted (although I had the inside primed/painted/clear c) * Worst windows ever.
The windows are 6 ft x 4 ft. Purchased at Home Depot. Anderson 100 series. We have been very pleased so far. Prices have gone crazy the last couple years but when we bought, I believe it was about $880 per window for the casement windows. Go to the millworks area and talk to one of their people. Its a custom order and there was lead time to contend with but I have no regrets.

Plus you got rid of the Tyvek in the wind noise. You can actually hear each talk inside the house now. Looking good.
Yes that Tyvek noise was annoying. And then I had to listen to it with headphones while editing.

4 more windows for the main room. 1 for the half bath. Door is probably 6 weeks at least.

If you were to put TUCK Tape on the joints on the Tyvek, it would stop the wind from getting behind and blowing it off.

Those windows are 4 feet high and 6 feet long
