For the firmware, I was having the same issue. What I did was go to Cammus' site to the downloads area and downloaded the .dfu firmware file. I then pointed my software to the file and got my base flashed (Make sure to check the "manual firmware update" box). Since then, I've been able to use the app to do the auto flashing. For the mounting, I have the NLR GT Elite cockpit and I did not want to drill my base. I went to Lowes and picked up 2 L brackets and use them to mount from the side along with the two mounts at the bottom like you have. It's pretty solid. I tried to comment on this before but I think because I put a link in to imgur for a pic of my mounting, youtube deleted the comment.

@@DrenTazz For one, they're not forcing a steering wheel ecosystem on you. You can use any car steering wheel that has a 70mm bolt pattern. From what I understand, the magnets in the shifters are very easily replaceable and you can use heavier gauss magnets to get a different feel. @@SimRacing604 I just think if you make your own mounting pattern you should include a template because it makes one less thing the user gets wrong. That said, any new manufacturer would benefit from using a mounting pattern with a very popular and well supported existing product.
@@SimRacing604 hmm. I used the in-game minimum force slider to get a tire resistance or road contact feel and also played around with steering scale to get some tire flex feel for ACC using a CSW 2.5. Prior to this ACC felt pretty muted in ffb regarding road contact feel compared to AC1 with CM settings very high gain.
@@RedLine0069 Its not just the settings on the Fanalab. You will have to tweak the individual game's settings as well. Try playing with the scale of the wheel rotation and force intensity. I got AC to have as close as RL possible using CM extra gain and filter, scale and minimum force tweaks with nearly all default Fanalab settings. Then I base this to match my other games to replicate what I get from AC. AMS2 is not bad but needs a lot of trial and error plus it is inconsistent with brake feel settings across their cars. AMS2 has taken me the longest to work out and it can do it well but not as refined in their implementation compared to ACC or how the Kunos devs code.
Only on sale due to no sales lol. And then the wheel base it self is way over sized and way over weight. Also a DD wheel base shouldn't need a fan. And last thing is the buttons on the actual wheel base are useless who wants to reach around a wheel to hit a button? Lol those buttons are a gimmick to get people to think they are getting extra for the money. Should of added more buttons to the actual wheel lol
Bizarre that ACC, a game that many consider the benchmark for FFB is dead on the Cammus. I run my DD2 at 50% on ACC, so peaking at 12.5 nM and it's incredibly detailed and sharp - it's definitely the sweet spot for power range, but it seems like the Cammus software is just losing something in translation for you :/
I would say AC is typically the benchmark, I have heard acc ffb is not as good in many ways but they could have updated the ffb without me knowing as I don't play acc.
in my opinion if your going Direct Drive Route. Your probably serious about sim racing as it takes time to Set up and get the Details and most out of the Direct Drive . Thanks Mike. Interesting that ACC feels off, for me every sim feels decent except for ACC.
Yeah, I’d agree. I’m hoping to stumble across a forum with recommended ACC settings, but I haven’t yet
Maybe registry is conflicting with other wheels you are using in terms of not finding your wheel
Yes. I deleted all my old wheelbase registrys and it seems to add up to much less complications.
This is very nice
Interesting talk in china from some of my chinese suppliers, is this simply a cosmetic change rebranding of the Kickstarter failure Feel VR DD that had same price bracket in 2018, which no one received?
Now you roughly know, how much money Fanatec and all the other Manufacturers make.
Shipping must really vary widely! Says $200 shipping for me in the US. What's going on with that. I know it's heavy and such but that seems a little much. Where are there's coming from?
Dude it says $796.00 shipping to my house in Vegas🤣🤣🤣

Would you recommend this over the moza r9?
lol its an og xbox 360 power brick. i do with that cammus had a h pattern shifter in stead of only sequential.
It feels like it could power 20 XBOX systems, lol
If I'm ever going to upgrade from my logitech g29 to a thrustmaster or fanatic what wheel should I get? (Preferably thrustmaster because I'm poor.)
If you have the money, get a CSL DD or DD Pro, but the TM T248 is cheaper and really impressed me
t300rs gts are going cheap atm and are a good step up from the g29.
@@SimRacing604 You know where to get one ? Fanatec's site has been saying sold out for months

I know nothing about these but arent they just really nice game controllers? Please educate me but I think $500 for a controller that doesnt come with pedals and a bunch of software Is a Krazy price. Is this a budget model? I guess I wont be getting into the Sim side of the hobby. I could buy a full car for that, heck, I could build a car for $500. Wow, I was kind of expecting it to be less than $200
do you sell any of these dd's or do give aways for them
Do they at least include some sort of template should you need to drill out new holes on your rig?
Unfortunately no. It would be easy enough to create one with a sheet of paper I guess. But honestly I’m not sure I’d want to get into drilling a heavy guard steel plate anyway
@@SimRacing604 I just think if you make your own mounting pattern you should include a template because it makes one less thing the user gets wrong. That said, any new manufacturer would benefit from using a mounting pattern with a very popular and well supported existing product.
just 3d print an adapter.
ACC requires a touch more minimum ffb to feel the road.
I tried. I turned things way up, but still got nothing
@@winnythekahuna8073 what are your settings i have a csw 2.5 and i just cant make it work as it should
@@RedLine0069 Its not just the settings on the Fanalab.
So this or the moza combo?
Dang! $200 to ship to Texas?!
buttons on the wheel base? why??
Why not? Also what sim racer complains about more buttons? Lol

Using Default +??
800 dollars to ship to my house in Vegas, these people are out of their minds🤣🤣🤣
that leather wheel alone would cost $80 on eBay.
It's a great base. Who cares about buttons when it's already cheaper and more powerful than the competition. ;)
Dose it work with PS5?
No. PC only
and here I am with only logitech and thrustmaster wheels available
Can you use it on xbox too?
Unfortunately no
@@SimRacing604 and why not?
Make the thumbnail 15Nm for just 500usd. You'll get more clicks.
New tech is always way overpriced. Once new tech has worn out the initial buying frenzy prices come back down to earth.
6:34 giggity
Gay much, or just a kid?
If it supported console I'd consider.
in my opinion if your going Direct Drive Route. Your probably serious about sim racing as it takes time to Set up and get the Details and most out of the Direct Drive . So most Racing titles and Direct Drives are not for Console. I believe one of the only is Fanatec who has to pay Licenses to get access to the Consoles Xbox and PlayStation.
The DD and Wheel cost more than a Console
