- If you know anything about Love Live or of school idols then you know the name of μ's.
There is no other group of school idols in history that was quite like them. A group of nine girls so inherently different in personality and experience yet united as if they were one and the same; μ's was the group that changed the world of school idols forever. The Love Live owes its popularity almost entirely to this group from a school just outside Akiba, but before they were nine and before they were a legend that countless school idols would look to for hope, they were just three girls who no one believed in.
This is μ's, the legendary nine who changed the world and reached mine and everyone else’s hearts forever.

And it’s crazy to think that irl they only sold a little over 400 copies of their first single in its first week of release and look where they are now. Success stories like this may not seem possible but they happen. It’s all a matter of perseverance. Muse definitely inspired many and continues to do so. Great analysis dude!
BanG Dream literally had the same start not selling almost anything at the beginning. This is extremely common, in fact, the uncommon thing would be actually selling well at the beginning when nobody knows you.
@@RaGiAn87 I mean...no? What this person means is it's extremely uncommon to begin selling well when nobody cares about you in the beginning due to an incredibly over-saturated market. Most groups just sell below average of don't sell at all and eventually peter out. But nice way to compare for no reason lol, especially given that Muse and the Love Live franchise's level of success was unprecedented from the very beginning. Bang Dream is successful now but the groups are not as successful as Muse and Aqours, who sold/sell out the biggest venues in Japan.

@@RaGiAn87 I think it was more surprising for Muse to sell very little because they were a project made from three big companies that marketed them in magazines and in a PV. BanG Dream came out in a time where idols were very popular in anime/anime games so they would've had anime fans and idols fans to market to. Muse had to appeal to fans of idolm@ster and regular idols, which was a very small group of people in 2010
Muse inspired me so much I started a idol cover group with my friends, we have yet to sing our debut song... but whenever I hear any muse song I get super motivated and happy to the point I might cry

For so long, I disliked Aqours. I knew so many people who liked them better then muse, and I felt as if they were just a replacement for muse and hated them for it. I knew no body could replace muse. It took me a while before I learnt that they could never be a replacement. Aqours is not muse. Aqours is nothing like muse. They are simply here to carry on the legacy that muse created. Aquors and muse are both amazing idols, but they cannot be compared because they are completely different.
Aqours was here to carry the torch and illuminate the world. They're not here to claim to be the ones that made the torch, they're here to spread it even farther and illuminate even more of the world.

i feel like Hanayo is so underrated, even if Nozomi gave them the group name but during first live if Hanayo didn't ran to see the live the 3 might keep crying and depressing and want to quit their dream, i know Nico was there but she might never show up, same as Nozomi . Eli was just there to prove Honoka's wills was wrong to begin with
As much as I love µ's, I'd wish there was more attention for A-rise. They are supposed to be some of the best school idols ever, the ones who inspired them all. They became professionals afterwards and yet no one seems to talk about them afterwards and they only have a total of two songs.
I think the worst part is that arises didn’t even sing with them in the movie. Like WTF it all was building up to that

the girls worked their absolute hardest. i remember in their new year's live soramaru talked about how each member and their families purchased a ton of cds of their first single "bokura no live kimi to no life" to bump the sales, also the members talked about how they remembered back when the first single was released, the booth was practically empty and nearly no one knew of them... look where they are now, love live is as big as it can be thanks to them, thanks to the 9 girls who perservered.

When I went to Japan last year, my hotel was in Akiba. I was lucky enough to see the building that UTX was based on. I was able to go into many of the buildings that are in the background of Love Live, and best of all, I was able to go to where the school took place, which is actually a shrine. I got to run up the staircase that is iconic to the love live fandom. It’s so beautiful how everything is so perfect and it’s so real.

Even though I started with Aqours, I totally agree. Even after watching this video, I still couldn’t explain why; but to put it simply, the feel of μ's is just totally different from Aqours and NijiGaku (and probably whatever successor of theirs will come). And I especially felt it as I watched them during our delayed viewing of Love Live Festival…..
Perhaps to try to compare it with another fandom of mine, I’d say μ's is to Gundam Build Fighters, while Aqours is to Gundam Build Fighters Try.
Nijigaku is blatantly just the company trying to get more money money money. The characters feel flat. Aqours also has some very similar archetypes (somewhat shy girl who likes food, sporty girl, the girl who is against the original idol group forming but joins later, the titty grabber)
Don’t get me wrong, Yoshiko and Ruby are PRECIOUS. But they’re precious to me because they truly can’t be related to μ’s girls like Dia and Mari can.

Andmeuths I never said Mari and Dia were clones or Nozomi and Eli, I said they had similar archetypes. I said they can be RELATED TO the μ’s girls, not that they are clones. Aqours can still stand on it’s feet because the characters have their own unique personalities, but they have similar cores to them. They will often play the same role, the role that μ’s just plays better. As in, with μ’s, nozomi will grab a tit for comedy, in Aqours, Mari will grab a tit for comedy. You is also good because her position in Aqours is truly her own, one of her comedic moments is her JUMPING OUT OF A WINDOW for a uniform! She is herself and that’s NOTHING like what μ’s did, I just don’t like You as much because I don’t find her as cute as Ruby.
As for Nijigaku, they ARE flat. The artists couldn’t even be bothered to draw 9 faces and had to slap a robot screen on one because uwu YET ANOTHER shy girl and you HAVE to know that she’s the shy one because there always has to be a shy one. Three of the girls were just from N cards from Love Live, the only redeemable character in nijigaku is Ai (the name of the blonde, I believe) but even then they are just completely forgettable because you can see the lack of effort the company puts in, because they already have μ’s and aqours so they don’t care about effort anymore. They have their cashcows, and I’m not going to accept the halfass job they did on nijigaku. They need to actually put effort into that group and stop thinking that we will like them because they’re drawn in the same style as μ’s and aqours. Until they start respecting the fans’ intelligence more and but effort into this "group," they don’t exist to me.

Despite my whole Yohane aesthetic, μ's will always be my favorite. Everything they stand for, everything they represent, everything they've done. A - Rise, Nijigasaki, Aqours are true idols, but, μ's are legends.

There was a very interesting analysis I saw about Bokutachi Wa Hitotu no Hikari. The analysis was about the flower μ's performed on. They said that the flower was a lotus. The evidence was the look of the flower, the fact that it had water like particles under the flower and the round water drops around the flower probably caused by the lotus effect. Now the emotional part starts. A normal louts opens during the morning and closes when it becomes dark. However, in the Bokuhika, it starts from the dark, then it becomes bright, then back to dark but the flower is still wide open. You can clearly see the difference in time. Now, the only louts that is open for the whole day is the louts that will die by the end of the day. This indicates that this was the last performance from μ's and this links to why they performed it as the last song for their final live.
I have translated this form a Japanese analysis so it may not grammatically make sense. I hope your able to understand what I am saying and why my phone is about to drown.
This is not an analysis. This is a conspiracy theory. A thing that could think ų's lotus is dead would have to think so hard and not think about staff laziness to close the flower as an alternative explanation.

For a long time I've looked at Love Live! like it was just a franchise, with likeable characters that sings great songs. A generic story which had a touching ending (Muse specifically). But after seeing this video, damn has my veiw of it changed. Now I know there is a deeper meaning to it all. They didn'y made a season 2 just to milk it. They didn't made the movie just to extend it. They made it to tell the story of Muse, the legendary nine...
Serious talk.
Well, I'm a man with a tough heart to reach. I mean most of anime makes me bored in episode 1-3, even the popular ones like RE: Zero, Darling in the Franx, SAO, and even Violet evergarden. I just like old anime like Fullmetal alchemist, Hitman Reborn, Ao no Exorcist, Jojo, and etc.
I know if I kept this up, I will lost my Intrest to anime stuff and maybe it's not my passion at the start. So I decide to try a different genre, the first that comes in my mind are musical.
I tried K-on, Bored and just-finished Season 1.
I tried Bang Dream, Bored, and dropped at season 2.
I tried Zombieland saga, not bad but not good.
I tried so many musical and idol anime but not a single thing can draw my attention.
The last is trying Idolm@ster that everyone kept said it's the best franchise, I try to watch all available anime and playing their games and try to understand but nope.
Before giving up, back in middle of 2019 one of my friends told me "ever try Love Live? they still update now up to 4 groups. (I think he referred to Muse, Aqours, Njigaku, and Saint Snow) ".
The first thing that comes to my mind is "Love Live, I heard about them back then in 2014-2015, almost every weebs talk about it, I thought the fandom died and there's no one cared about it anymore" since the fanbase on my country is massive in 2014-2015 and small in 2019.
Well, I guess why not give it a try? I searched about it and found there's 6 anime about Love Live: Love Live! School idol project, Love Live! School idol project season 2, Love Live! School Idol Movie, Love Live Sunshine!!, Love Live Sunshine!! Season 2, and Love Live Sunshine!! the School Idol Movie: Over the rainbows.
I confused about where to start, and I asked my friend and he said "Right now everyone talks about sunshine so give it a try, I know it will match your passion" so I started to watch Sunshine, and they're not bad but not good enough even I almost dropped at season 1, and the movie are just no. I mean they're good I like to listen to Happy party train, Mijuku Dreamer, and Season 1 ending song, but nope they're just another one I will forget in a couple years just like the other musical anime. And when I'm about to try another Genre (Trying Shonen again) something crossed to my mind "What is Muse that they kept talking about?" and found that Muse is the group from the previous series, the school idol project.
I start to watch episode one, and "wow what a great opening song" but I think again, "They said they're unexperienced but they sang a song in episode one (Susume -> Tomorrow) just like Aqours did," but I'll ignore that. Until Episode 3 comes out when they sing Start:Dash, it's a good song with good lyrics. But what touched me is when Eli asked them "What are you gonna do now?" and Honoka answer is just the best even it's been a while I'm cried while watching anime (the last time was Little Busters) especially when she said "maybe no one watching us right now, but we will always try" what a simple thing that can touch me, I mean they're just got three official audiences (Rin, Hanayo & Maki) since they classmates are the crew, Nozomi, Nico, and Eli hiding. I mean not to compare but Aqours got more audiences even before Chika sister bring the other audiences. they really start from the bottom when no one noticed them.
I finished season 1 and that's the first time a 13 episode anime make me satisfied, I watched their Live and listen to subunits before start to watch season 2 and when I heard their first album was a failure, it just makes me more excited about them. I mean even in the real-life they were a failure at first.
I watched season 2 and I really loved episode 4 and 5, finished season 2 Lots of tear come to my face, watch the 4th and 5th Live, and watch the Movie. It such a great Movie, no words can express it, watch the final live and that was satisfying 8 hours experience. after finishing the movie and final live I try to listen to other albums that not performed live, and every single song are great song, I remember I cried listening Sentimental StepS and my dad thinks I broke with my girlfriend seeing me crying in front of my PC (I broke long time ago and I laughed)
They changed my passion that usually into dark-themed, and now I'm ending up spending my money on their stuff.
Well, I just regret that I do not notice them back then.
They will be forever inside my hearts and memories.

Bro, like, you're on a different level. I mean, I've been watching Anime since the mid-to-late 90's. We would get bootleg VHS tapes of Voltron and Dragon Ball back in the day. Then we found movies like Wicked City and Ninja Scroll, and I've been hooked since then. I've watched hundreds of complete series, totaling thousands of hours. I've watched movies upon movies. I've gone through waves of obsession with certain series when I was a teenager (Tenchi Muyo, Love Hina, Dragon Ball, etc.). In my twenties, I found trashy ecchi anime, which has been my calling, my bread and butter for years. I have a figure collection that has a value just about to cross $40,000. I have the blankets, the sheets, the toys and stationery. I go to vocaloid concerts and shamelessly wear my Waifu apparel in public and at work. I'm there. Nearing legendary weeb status.
But you...
In all my life, I have never had the passion or emotional connection that you have for the Love Live girls. I can hear it in your voice bro. The dedication. I mean, I've had obsessions with To Love Ru girls, Holo from Spice and Wolf, Asuka from Evangelion, Hestia from Danmachi, and all the girls from Saekano. I legitimately love those girls. But it's not what you have bro. Keep doing you, you absolute mad lad.
No joke, your delivery on the lines in this and each of your Love Live vids genuinely push me to tears. Truly an awesome series
it's so sad, after watching all of this nostalgia hits you hard. remember watching them when they were only 3? it's amazing how long the journey was, how they grew, how they bonded.

I went into this show in 10th grade (16 years old the perfect age) and I thought I would hate it and make fun of the whole thing. I ended up crying and falling in love with these 9 girls. Even 5 years later I still feel the same way and it’s thanks to the release of games like LLSIFAS, live shows, and videos like this that constantly remind me why 💜

Love Live, or μ's, gave me so much, I made some amazing friends who I started talking to because of Love Live, who I enjoyed trying to dance or sing with, and those people are someone very dear to me even now, when we don't talk about Love Live at all. μ's inspired me in all ways to pursue my goals when I first saw llsip.

A bit late but here my story with these idol group...
It started 2014 when I just really want to watch a lot anime ask here and there for recomendation and someone mention Love live I watch it but like "meh wtf is this??" And I dropped this series, but late 2014 my timeline full of Love live 'cuz S2 just ended and so I started again watch it again, man S2 really change my mind about this series, especially halloween ep when 'dancing star on me' damn that song so addicted, watch it until last ep but my heart still not loved it, until I find out when they have live further more I just know they have final live, so in the last remaining until final I am searching about they live as seiyuu watch the first live, watching their funny niconama, radio rin pana, nozoeli gaiden, emitsun fight club, and before I realize I really like them, they hard work really move my heart but well that 4yrs ago and so after they final live I still miss an idol but I don't know any idol until found sakamichi especially N46, and cheering them buy merch and cd but as I though my heart still love μ's the most, I know they're different one is anime/seiyuu the other real idol but in term of hard work to me μ's still no.1. Imagine start a group out of nothing just 3 big company join hand together release first single that sell not so well, just waste of money but no they hard work really paid off that's why I love this group. When compared to N46 who start the same as μ's zero to one I feel like μ's hard work really hard, I mean N46 have they AkiP who have AKB backbone so calling them rival is interisting to some people but μ's come out of nowhere climb up to the top of anime idol group is really something I proud of it.
That's my story. I am not really like Aqours or N46 3rd and 4th generation because they hard work to me not enough, don't get me wrong I'm not hating them but my heart still cannot move it
I discover your channel yesterday and I watch the videos of Chika, Honoka and the feathers and, tbh, I have to wait between videos because all of them make me cry!! Your voice has a kind of passion and emotion that shows how much you love school idols and love live. I feel like one of the next love live should have a cameo from one of the original even tho the VA might not be on the stage. Sure everyone (in series) so far heard of love live because of Muse and their legendary status as first, but what about their family in the "future" ? I believe in-universe it's at least 25 years after the 1st, that's kind of enough to "show" what did the kids from the "legacy" feel and heard and if they would join up to form a group.

I am a big fan of AKB48 at this time. And all of the original members were slowly graduating and AKB48 was changing.
But μ's did give me something I yearned for. Some semblance of fun and music from IDOLS.
And it was amazing that it was an anime, initially i'd though it was irl idols that will give me this feeling.
And because of μ's, I also started to believe in VTubers. So yeah, their inspiration still affected me today.

I'm so glad I grew up with μ's. My first time seeing them was at 9 years old, it changed my heart. their songs inspired me to become a better person.
