I'm a cinema nerd like you too and have experienced almost all of the screens here in mumbai. So the movie I watched on onyx was 'an action hero' (ayushman khurana) and omg the color production and clarity was the best I had ever watched. No screen i've seen had such magnificent picture; but yes the screen size was a BIG bummer. Even the seats were very uncomfortable (no headrest) but again the screen made up for it. Only if it was bigger, I'd watch every movie there until that IMAX is the solution
Projectors really has reached end of life. They just can't get bright enough, analogue or digital. Self emitting displays are the future for cinemas, but it will be incredibly expensive.
Damn UA-cam just recommended your channel out of nowwhere. I used to watch your early videos about the Pixel 1 and other stuff and then life happened and I totally forgot about you! Nice to see you are still making videos! Definitely dropping a sub! Maybe we can collaborate someday!
So all Onyx screens are 1.90:1, right? I'm gonna watch "The Flash" in ONYX instead of IMAX then. Sad to know about the screen-size limitations, I'll compensate by taking the 4th row from front! Great video btw... perfectly explained, all details covered. Does the Delhi ONYX have Atmos with it?
But what are your views from the perspective of eye health. Like LED screening can harm one's sensitive eyes of watched long movies but that doesn't happen in projection coz it's the reflection on a white screen !
Yes i agree, they should make larger screens and fill the audi , so it will really be immersive experience, and the distributors should also provide different dcps rather than standard aspect ratio for non imax ..
I watched Avatar 2 in Onyx led Bengaluru swagat Shankarnag screen.... And it was amazing experience, but one thing that surprised me was the aspect ratio was not 2.39:1 like normal 2d screens.... It was probably 1.9:1, im not sure but it was like a mini imax with a small screen.... And the experience was awesome with unbelievable screen quality.... You can see the videos and pictures uploaded in Google maps to check for yourself.... Not all movies will be played in this ratio, ive watched gaurdians of Galaxy 3, top gun and many more.... But avatar 2 had different aspect ratio.... Dont know how they got that version when it is not imax theatre.... Does the Samsung screen get it from the distributors or is it something else?
Actually for avatar you could get any dcp if your screen could handle it , like for Prasads large screen in Hyderabad and other pvr pxl screens or any plf screens got 1.9:1 aspect ratio to fill the screen, so same way onyx must have got it.
The sharpest and the most clear film i have watched is avatar 2 in Pxl(priya). IT WAS MIND-BLOWING. IN 3D TOO THE BRIGHTNESS was like when you are seeing it in 2d. i watched flash in Imax(vishal, delhi) it is a laser one and even it was not as crispy and sharp as the PXL
VERY OFF THE TOPIC. but I have experienced that the staff/customer service of our cinema chain sucks. They don't care about the technology and they don't even mention in which specs they are screening the movie neither on their own apps/Instagram/book my show nor on the customer service. like abroad I have seen they list the details of the movie when you are booking the tickets for it like HFR,HFR 3D,4K.... But sadly not in India. I struggled with this during avatar 2 cause I wanted to watch it in HFR and john wick 4 cause I wanted to watch it in ATMOS
You should cover the Las Vegas sphere. With massive screen 17k seats with high-speed internet mostly for events i guess. The sound of that screen is very new and special
Onyx screens will put a full stop to piracy in the theaters XD XD. As if cam version of projected movies wasn't bad already, the cam version of a movie on the onxy screen is unwatchable.
The Imax 1570 resolution is like 16k so maybe the only way to get 16k digital imax is possible with led. And also I've seen many people feel bad about OLED home cinema ruining their imax experience. So an OLED deep blacks and bright pixels in theatres can kill projectors for good. But projectors for home are good as they dont harm eyes as much as TVs/monitors So basically projectors at home and panels in theatres 😅

The Onyx which is under construction in Hyderabad was supposed to be an huge IMAX screen but they dropped the idea and switched to Onyx screen
Yupp
Eagerly waiting for the opening of Samsung onyx screen in hyderabad and thank you @kdcloudy for the informative video 👍👍👍
Was waiting for this video!!
❤❤
Please use windscreen for you're Video mic. There are too much pop's in Audio.
Have u watched john wick 4 in imax? And how do figure out that a movie has 2k dcp or 4k dcp?
By sharpness and clarity
I guess he has much more experience in watching movies to distinguish wht would be normal 2k and special 4k
By sharpness. John Wick 4 in PCX Hyderabad was 4K
If you can’t tell apart 2K and 4K you’ve been watching 4K all along
You’ll know 4K when you see it
@@KDCloudy unless if it's masked by cgi smear and grain 🤢

Great video, but the mic jiggling about kind of took me out of my engagement while watching. Else, neat stuff!
Thanks 😅
What's the link to the Samsung page you showed with the countries list?
The hyderabad one is opend and they branded it as Epiq Luxon.. But not as Samsung Oynx.. Visited the theater and brightness is next level

ONYX is 7.1
Onyx doesn’t have Atmos or Dolby 7.1, Samsung uses a custom “JBL-tuned” surround system
Thanks for watching man :)
@@KDCloudy Not saying it's Dolby's 7.1, The config. is a 7.1 Setup.
i just love this theatre content keep making it bro
Sure man. Thank you!

Didn’t strain my eyes tbh. But definitely a factor now that you say it

I have watched Tanhaji..in onyx bangalore..3D was so mych better than conventional projevtor
We want a video on 4dx too 😂
I hate 4DX man hahah
@@KDCloudy that's the reason I want you too make a video on that

The screen has deep black They can easily adjust to any ratio in it
Great explainer!

Yep. AAA, Asian Allu Arjun I guess
