Hmm.. Nostalgic..I'm in a similar situation as you, missed it back then, Now i watch interstellar scenes almost every once in a week in my LG 4k oled TV & Bose 700 setup., and that Hans Zimmer's docking scene BGM., it just rocks...no words to explain..listened to it 1000s of times.. and i always keep wondering how the hell they made this master piece a decade ago.. Mr.Akkineni Ramesh Prasad had given a thought to give best movie experience to fellow Hyderabadis, sadly, things did not work out. Timing is important for any business to run. May be IMAX technology was too early to the game & for the people back then, who doesn't have much knowledge on best movie experiences. Even the economic status of the movie goers has been improved drastically.,Newer players PVR, Asian cinemas with depper pockets had given tough competition to IMAX. OTTs saga is is the last nail in the coffin
That is how life is, sometimes we dont take the right decisions, because we are afraid to take the bad ones. You missed that chance but you will soon find a better one.
Don‘t regret, you can watch older IMAX movies all across the globe and study well and earn, travel. I live in Germany and often I see older IMAX ads as some are rerun just for entertainment. For a movie presenter, they buy the IMAX movies for once and it‘s in their collection. Sometimes you can even book entire cinema hall for personal viewing with friends and family. That’s how we watch Bollywood or Telugu movies on weekends.
As a 13yr old kid i saw Under the Sea IMAX 3D and eventually Avatar 1 at Prasads IMAX. Our family travelled from VIsakhapatnam to Hyderabad just for watching the movies as my father felt like showing us the experience. He avidly watched all forms of content all across the India and globally. He read about IMAX experience for years before taking us to the IMAX. Boy oh boy, it was really worth it and I still didn‘t get to relive the experience of IMAX even though I stay in Germany now. Travel, hotel and planning is too costly. Upwards of 150€ would be current day price for that similar IMAX experience that my dad did for me as a child.
I was a student (so naturally I was broke 😂) in Pune when Interstellar released. I boarded the train for Hyderabad in a general compartment, I sat on the floor for the whole night and reached Hyderabad in the morning just to watch the FIRST DAY FIRST SHOW of Interstellar, in 70MM Analog, the way it was meant to be watched and the last of its kind cinematic experience; at Prasads IMAX! i was just mesmerized by the experience, so much so that I ended up watching back to back shows. Thank you so much Prasads IMAX for providing once in a lifetime experience and Thank you so much for making this video!!! ❤
Not 70mm, but IMAX is in Pune now! There's one at Westend Mall in Aundh, and one more in Pimpri-Chinchwad at the new Phoenix Mall, where I watched Dune 2. Really fun, but I'm jealous of you getting to watch it in 70 mil.
Prasad’s IMAX holds a special place in my heart. I’ve lost count of the movies I’ve seen here. It was just 10min away from my home, made it all more possible every time I feel like going. This IMAX was a good 15yrs part of my life, kinda pilgrimage at a point. I used to start saving a couple of weeks a head every time a big release was up. I used to skip school, college, and plans with friends who lived far and cannot make it to Prasad's only to have the best cinematic experience. Sadly the 70mm IMAX projector had to be decommission and not that long after I graduated and relocated. Having lived in Delhi and Mumbai I can say Prasad's IMAX was my fav experience. I aways assumed it was lack of audience due to high fares that let to it. Good to know it was an age old govt policy and not the Hyderabadi cinephiles like me. I wish the policy changes in the near future and Prasads restores the best IMAX experience in the country. Where ever I might be living then, I will come back just to relive that experience once again 🎥🍿✨
Good evening everyone Just yesterday i went to Prasad's along with my friend and mentioned to him that its been really long since i saw a movie in I MAX and he said to me that its no more and I really felt that i lost something and deep down i had a sense of sorrow it was like all my memories were coming back to me and I realised how i took it for granted that Prasad's would continue to show movies on IMAX and immediately came back and searched on Google as to why and when did this happen ...to my horror i realised that i really haven't been around Hyderabad for long ....though i was brought up in Hyderabad .... work took me everywhere in India and i could sense that things have changed ......now after watching this video i am surely going to Godzilla vs Kong movie slated for day after tomorrow ........anyone willing please don't miss this opportunity atleast .....
@@lordchadwickedwardsiii4093 yeah. i still remember, seeing kaiju fighting scenes gave me so scary feel i got some chest pain, so freaking huge and lifelike .
The DEFINITIVE video that we were all waiting for! So well researched and well made, got to know a few things I didn't know before as well. Thank you KD for making it and I'm privileged to have a small part in it too 😀
I saw dark knight, dark knight rises, Interstellar so many times paying 250 each time. I can't forget how beautiful the experience was. I have been to imax screens in US in New York, miami, Charlotte, Dallas but the immersive experience of prasads didn't match any. The scene in Interstellar where the docking failed and stunning silence appeared. WOW. Still sends shivers today as well. Thanks to prasads and Christopher Nolan for this experience. I am from UP but a Hyderabadi at heart. Also thank you for the video. I still don't understand why many people don't talk about Prasads on TV or in general.
I remember going to Prasad's IMAX in 2011 and 12 to watch RaOne and then Ek Tha Tiger among other movies and the experience was just phenomenal. Glad to finally learn about it's epic story!
So the first movie which I watched in Prasads Imax is "Interstellar". The Jupiter scene was out of this world. Literally. I would pay any amount to rewatch it in the same theatre.
Damn dude with every episode I just love you more and more. How the heck did you manage to dig those old newspaper ads, that 2014 BMS booking page screenshot and stuff? Just how dude?
I deem myself lucky that my school used to take us on frequent movie days to Prasad’s IMAX. The first ever 3d film I’ve ever watched was The polar express in 2004 at Prasad’s IMAX, imagine the standard it would’ve set for a young 6 year old boy. Thereafter I watched multiple movies like space station 2, batman dark night rises and Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix to name a few in IMAX presentations during my school days. I dearly miss the IMAX presentation whenever I watch a film at Prasad’s now , it definitely holds a special place in my memory. Thank you for this documentary ❤.
Being someone who’s born and brought up in Hyderabad, this video moved my heart! Thank you so so much brother. Though most people in Hyderabad know this story till the interstellar part, thanks the consequences and implications after that. And the ticket pricing policies, I agree it’s a very thin profit margin but we should also agree that it plays a huge role in the theatre celebrations and cinema culture of Hyderabad, Hyderabad people watch so many movies in theatres not only because it’s a part of our day to day lives but also because it doesn’t require too much effort from the pockets. Best of luck for your channel Brother!
Great video and commentary. Like many others, I grew up watching a movie at Prasads Multiplex almost every weekend in the late 2000s/early 2010s. The IMAX opening countdown at the start of every screening is one of the most nostalgic parts of the cinema experience for me to date. I remember skimming through the Eenadu newspaper for showtimes each week before bookmyshow came about. 14-year-old me was hugely disappointed with Prasads' decision to stop screening IMAX format movies back then. One of my biggest regrets to date is not watching Inception and Interstellar in IMAX when I could. Thanks to this video, I now have some closure by understanding what actually happened. It is quite ironic that legislation that once favoured the consumer ended up having the opposite effect when outdated. Oh well, we enjoyed it while it lasted. Keep up the great content!
All those movies you mentioned were my entire childhood in that IMAX screen. I went through all the memories, remembering all those moments waiting in line at the box office, running around the arcade, spending an entire Sunday there with family, Good times. Thank you for the video.
Awesome man! Really heartfelt at the end there.. I still reminisce about watching Pacific Rim in IMAX and been blown away by the scale.. no mater how many IMAX’s and Large Screen I see movies at, I still imagine how it would have been in Prasad’s IMAX!
I always wanted to know what happened about the Prasad's IMAX and even searched it online and couldn't find much about it. when I saw your thumbnail, I immediately clicked on it and you were really informative about the topic. Kudos to you bro
That was all so interesting KD. It's such a pleasure to listen to a true enthusiast, but one who is so knowledgeable as well. You clearly take a lot of time and put in much work with your videos. I'd like to see a movie on that huge screen even if they can't project film any longer. Perhaps standard 70mm might be an option one day though... you never know. John.
Very well researched. I watched Interstellar in Imax and used to live in Hyderabad during those days. This video and the whole time frame brought back a lot many memories. Thanks for making it! Kudos 👍🏻
I totally agree with you about everything mentioned in this video as a Hyderabadi!!! "Prasads IMAX is an emotion" A big thank you from all the Hyderabadi's for making this video. And mark my words this video will be a GEM 💎
My father took us to this theatre over 18 years ago when I was a school kid. I still remember watching a documentary called "Serengiti" and was blown away by the screen size. My dad wanted us to experience "the largest screen in India". As luck would have it, I was put up in Hyderabad when Avatar released and boy I loved that movie on this screen! However I am sad that Hyderabadis are missing out on IMAX on this large screen. Coming out of watching Godzilla X Kong in IMAX 3D yesterday, I can tell you the IMAX experience is worth every rupee. Wish govt. did something about it.
This is such an emotional piece of content. This is why I love youtube, and pay for internet. Being a Hyderabadi movie buff, watching someone understand what actually happened and explain it to rest of the country. Wow, amazing stuff. Please keep making great content. Subscribed!
What a fantastic topic and channel! I vividly remember watching my first imax movie at Prasads. I came to Hyderabad for my CAT interviews and on my way to the hotel I saw 'Prasads Imax'. Immediately after my interview I ran to Prasads and wow...was it an experience! You just reinvigorated all those memories.
Being a big time movie lover I’m really happy I came your channel and I must say that I loved the video. Last year I was in the US and fortunately I got the opportunity to watch Oppenheimer in a 70mm IMAX Screen with the og analog projector and I must say it was something so special that I would never forget in life! I wish we had such screens here as well
You made me emotional. Prasad’s IMAX is an emotion for many Hyderabadis. This was definitely a tourist attraction I remember taking many of my relatives to watch a movie in IMAX(didn’t care what was playing).
This is a very well documented video, Kaustubh... I loved all the aspects, starting from how it begins, how the movies were celebrated, how the interest diminished... I still regret the fact that i missed Interstellar back in 2014..😢 Nevertheless, am glad you've chosen to do this series and covered it so wonderfully!! I can't imagine any other collaborations, other than Karthik Abhiram!! His explanation about his experience is on point!! Definitely a wonderful watch ✨
Finally i found a channel that gives the quality presentation about the IMAX. Finally found the story about Hyderabad's IMAX.. You are the rarest channel found in India.. Loved your videos❤❤❤
Another great feature about prasads multiplex, is the seating arrangement, no other theatre that I have visited has such a step wise seating arrangement, where there is no hindrance to your eye level, the person sitting in front of you cannot cause any issue to your movie experience. Definetly the best theatre!
I'm 16, and I regret so badly that I wasn't born in the golden era of IMAX 70mm. I still wish anyone out there will come up with a 70mm IMAX theatre and I hope that we all get to experience that mind blowing forgotten era in India.
I went from Trivandrum to Prasad IMAX at Hyd, just to watch “Pacific Rim”. It was such a great immersive experience!! It was my first IMAX experience ever!
Absolutely amazing. I appreciate how you touched upon something so rarely discussed on a platform like YT. Keep up the good work and I request you to seek subscribers. It hurts seeing such quality content with low subscriber base.
Oh man, Walking into that starry dome, getting those 3D glasses soooo ICONIC. I saw tons of movies in that screen. Recently, watching Dune 2 in IMAX format after all made me feel all nostalgic. Great Video Bro 🫡
Really well-made and well researched video. Kudos to you bro, for highlighting and covering the history of this gem of a place and one of the most famous landmarks in Hyderabad :)
As a 1991 born.....the Prasads facility was the first in our lives with such a grand scale, in the city. We used to live near Lal-Bunglow area which made Prasad's readily accssible. Countless days spend hanging around with friends. I still have the fondest memories of watching movies on the IMAX screen in the original format. I still regret not being able to watch Interstellar on it....and in a way, Prasads had its own role into making me the cinephile I am today. It still hurts to feel that IMAX doesnt exist anymore in Prasads. I still wait for the day it comes back.
Ah. Thanks for bringing those memories back ! Newspaper ads from Deccan Chronicle about IMAX movies at Prasad's ❤ With that interior structure - glass and steel poles.. it almost felt like a secret NASA center whenever i visited the screening of Interstellar there😂 11k equivalent projection of Wormhole and Gargantua scenes blew our minds . First taste of it was during Inception tho.
Very well produced video, my country (South Africa) had a dedicated 70mm IMAX building in Cape Town, but it was closed down before i ever got to see a movie there. Best i have at the moment is imax single laser (still amazing)
Anytime mate, I tried to dig up some more info about it but I couldn't. Just that it was in the same area as the current imax laser and was owned by one guy. I really hope he get a dual laser 1.43 : 1 screen in the future
To a guy who was born into a film fanatic family and for whom films were a way to get rid of worldly tensions and get lost into the mesmerizing worlds, PRASADS was and is still a MECCA for movie experiences. The memory of watching the re-release of Titanic, dark knight rises and many more is still vivid.I was in a dilema of sorts of whether to watch movies in the large screen since the removal of IMAX projection. Then the PCX projection gave me the satisfaction of enjoying the immersive experience I once endeavoured❤THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO AND THANK YOU TO PRASADS MULTIPLEX TO GIVE HYDERABADIS THE MOST PREMIUM MOVIE EXPERIENCE ☺️❤️
I have watched INTERSTELLAR re release at the prasads large screen in 2023 and the experience was truly next level. That was the first time for me at the prasads and 1st large screen experience as well. I wish I watched it in the original 70mm intended version on the same screen but the timeline didn't match up. The best movie experiences in my life. Large screen, excellent sound system, nolan, interstellar(fav movie), can't go wrong I was mad happy
When I lived in Hyderabad, every movie released on this screen I used to watch them. Most of them were non-IMAX movies, but it provides a lot of immersive experience. Amazing venue.
Really cool to see high quality video essays made about local topics. As someone that goes to Prasads for pretty much any movie, this answers alot of questions lol
Speaking as someone from Delhi. There is NO better city to watch a film in this country other than our Hyderabad. There is NO better place to watch a film in this country other than Prasads. The place is MAGICAL !!!!!!!!!!!
Ah a great video! Made me very nostalgic. The first movie that I watched in Prasads Imax was Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire..i guess circa 2005. Costed 180 rupees which was quite a shock for us. My other favourite experiences here are The Polar Express and Interstellar. What I like about Prasads and something I never found in any other digital Imaxes in India is the steep and stadium seating. The screen is much closer to you and covers your entire field of vision.
As much I want to see an actual IMAX again in Hyderabad, I think capping the ticket prices is the best policy a govt. laid out, it makes movies accessible to a lot more people. Staying in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, going to a cinema is way too expensive. Maybe the govt. could amend policy or offer subsidies to bring IMAX back again.
I live about 5 mins away from theatre and the large screen experience just makes it so memorable that i'm sure ill never be able to experience that anywhere else in India.
AH mate, amazing video and indepth dive into one of the classic cinema screens in India. Now, I really wanna a watch movie there. Was fortunate enough to experience Oppenheimer in 15/70mm IMAX and the segment where Karthik talks about his 1st time experience watching IMAX 15/70mm Presentation, it absolutely hit home for me. Thanks for sharing the passion and love for IMAX as format and cinema in general, hope it get a wider reach.
I go to college daily crossing the imax road and i daily see Prasads theater on my way. I remember i watched Avatar with my family in Prasads when i was just a 6 year old or so, at that time i didnt realize the experience of an imax theater. Me and my friends still go to Prasads to watch movies or to go for bowling. Thanks for this video man! You got a subscriber!❤
Wow, such a heartwarming story! Take a bow for all your efforts in collecting this info buddy. Back in 2014, I traveled all the way from Kakinada to Hyderabad-a 600 km journey-just to watch Interstellar. It was an unforgettable experience, truly one of the best I've ever had. I did something similar in 2023 for Avatar 2. Each time I watched a movie there, it was a one-of-a-kind experience that I'll always cherish.
Gentleman... respect and take a bow for your presentation and story boarding. Your entire crew, researchers, camera person, editing and the entire team of your which made this happen. Truly enjoyed the iMax when it was there Spiderman specially (seen all 4 shows in single day standing in queue taking tickets, much before Bookmy show days) Like you said, respect past and enjoy the present. Who know what is in future may be IMAX will happen again some years later.
13:07 Can't believe a screenshot I took in 2014 ended up in a UA-cam video about IMAX. I noticed this by identifying the email ID from the other tab. I sure was so crazy for IMAX and Nolan then. But it just gives me chills to see my screenshot from 10 years back in your video! I'm not sure how it ended up here, but Thank you. I still couldn't book this ticket as I lived some 600 km away from Hyderabad. But I badly wanted to go, I would open it every now and then and check for tickets, but I couldn't afford to travel that far at that time. But 3 years later, I was working in the US and I was fortunate enough to see Dunkirk at the Baltimore Science Center IMAX on celluloid 70mm Film projection (which is sadly now renovated to digital projection). And when he explained the experience at 05:43, I was feeling the same at the first frame of the film. It took some time for my eyes and brain to adjust to the gigantic experience. Once people see a single film in IMAX film, they would understand how inferior the digital projections are! Thank you again for your video!
Hey! This is insane 🤣 I think I found your screenshot on Twitter somewhere. Really glad you took that screenshot because it was crucial in proving this point. Glad you got to experience 15/70mm again and happy you liked the video :)
I was lucky enough to watch proper IMAX film in Prasad's back in 2012. Dark knight rises, Skyfall and Hobbit. Nothing ever matched the experience again.
Nice video.. I still recall my visit to this theatre and was hooked by the quality of sound and screen size .. one of the best theatre experiences ever
My last movie on Prasad's big screen was Oppenheimer and the experience was meh! I was very fortunate enough to watch Avatar (3 times), Pacific Rim, The Hobbit (2 times), and Interstellar (3 times) on IMAX in its glory days, it was an experience that can't be put into words. Felt so fucking sad at the end of each show of Interstellar knowing that it was the last true IMAX presentation in Prasads. I hope the government makes amendments just for IMAX presentation prices making it a win-win for movie buffs and IMAX both. Also, great video brother well researched and presented you've earned yourself a subscriber.
Some of the gems I experienced at Prasad’s IMAX that I can never forget: Dark Knight Dark Knight Rises Spider-Man 2 and 3 Transformers 2 and 3 Interstellar Inception Pacific Rim Harry Potter 3,4,5,6,7 I may not have fully realised how special this screen was when I watched it, but only realised its speciality after they removed IMAX.
I watched every single IMAX movie that they came out with. Watching the harry potter films on the big screen, was a great experience. Harry potter 4, Avatar, Dark knight and Inception were so good that I kept recollecting and imagining being in those worlds for weeks after seeing the movie.
So glad to come across this video and channel! I've been wondering about the rise and fall of Prasads IMAX (RIP). OMG the physical movie schedules!!! I do miss how different things were... My family used to go to Prasads without knowing the showtimes and wait or hope that there's a show we want to watch. Hmm... I see how the policy is a double-ended sword, it does protect us all from the competitive prices (exhorbitant prices on weekends/premiers) but the cinema hall suffers. Prasads has always been the best thing that happened to the hyd cinema experience.
I still remember it was in the year 2011. I came for summer holidays to Hyderabad to my uncle’s place. since i was a movie buff since my childhood i asked my uncle to take me to prasads imax one weekend. One Saturday, we did go there and saw the showtimes of all the movies that played. I saw avatar playing there even after 4 years after being released. I think it must’ve been re-released at that point or maybe they’ve chosen to play it. I was damn excited to go watch it for the first time. Also i didn’t have the habit of watching english movies in theatre till 2013 so i was very curious about the experience. Sadly, there was no show playing at that time for avatar in the imax screen on that particular day and then we saw Mr. Perfect playing at that time, so we chose to watch that instead, and then i never visited to prasads later. That was my first and last experience of visiting prasads. Later after 12 years i came back to watch interstellar on the pcx screen which was too good, but i only wish what if i had seen avatar during that time of the trip.😢
I remember watching mission impossible ghost protocol in Prasad's imax. Words can't express how amazing it was !! Burj khalifa scene streched entire screen!!! Then I watched interestellar and that experience I can't forget ever!! Wish govt can change the policy for imax .
Good documentary. I was confused why there is no IMAX when I moved to Hyderabad in Dec 2022. Though I heard about it long time back when even when I was staying in Gujarat. Finally got to know the story behind absense of IMAX in Hyd.
Does anybody else find a blur white spot in the corner when you wear those 3d glasses here? I saw couple of movies and changed glasses as well, but still find that blurry white patch on the left bottom corner of the glass.
This brought back memories. And I am happy to say that I experienced the last true Imax movie in this theater. Some shots of the movie when images used to fill the complete screen were breathtaking
even now , whenever I want to go to any movie I will first check prasads . I stay in Manikonda which is 13kms away. Prasads is brilliant in every aspect. It's hard to digest that Prasads is no much longer attached to IMAX tag . hopefully we do get back
I am soo glad i went to see interstellar in imax with my friends, (we went to take our dental degree certificates ) and i literally forced my friends to watch it,,,my god!! It was an unbelievable experience, that crop scene, wave scene, 2nd planet they visited and accident scene and at last final scene,,, All were soo amazing to watch and when i came out of theatre, i distinctly remembered like i went to whole another planet and came back Regretting not to watch multiple times but glad i saw atleast one time
I share this frustration with my fellow Hyderabadis. I feel sad whenever i read news about IMAX opening in other cities. I just read a news about Miraj opening new IMAX in Jodhpur
For the past 10 years, I have been salty about not having the option to watch IMAX presentations. But the way you approached the topic, with so much respect, honour, and love for the art of movies and their presentation.. and acknowledging the audiences' emotions as well - this changed my heart. Definitely gonna try the renovated screen now. Also, latest ticket prices for a blockbuster there were 400 for Deadpool & Wolverine. I guess, they are upping prices for some movies?
When Avatar released, I took an overnight train from Bangalore to watch the movie and return immediately after the movie. Had tweeted to them when tickets were not available. Bought a ticket from black. Then the manager called me to his office, told they have blocked the best centre seat for me for taking the effort to watch the movie, gave me a free ticket which included coke and popcorn.
Wow! Thanks for sharing this story!!

for Avatar 2 I went to Bangalore to watch the movie in IMAX...Sad to see no IMAX for hyderabadi movie & IMAX lovers 😢

The DEFINITIVE video that we were all waiting for! So well researched and well made, got to know a few things I didn't know before as well. Thank you KD for making it and I'm privileged to have a small part in it too 😀
Thank you for being part of it!!
hi karthik didnt expect you in the video but this was a delightful surprise this is Chetan btw not sure if you remember me
I saw dark knight, dark knight rises, Interstellar so many times paying 250 each time.
Glad to finally learn about it's epic story!
those weren't shot in IMAX
😂😂
lol those movies are not worth watching in imax
So the first movie which I watched in Prasads Imax is "Interstellar". The Jupiter scene was out of this world. Literally. I would pay any amount to rewatch it in the same theatre.
It's Saturn, not Jupiter
Your wish is granted they are showing again now 😅 go bro
Easily the best video I have seen so far about Prasads!!!
Damn dude with every episode I just love you more and more.
How the heck did you manage to dig those old newspaper ads, that 2014 BMS booking page screenshot and stuff? Just how dude?
Thank you bro! Loads of research! You’ll be amazed to see what’s left for posterity
@@KDCloudy I will be there no matter what haha

Which was this school….?

Not even from Hyd or a big movie geek, but the presentation kept me so hooked. Absolutely terrific work
Great video and commentary.
Thanks a lot bro, for bringing this up. I felt absolutely emotional watching this entire video. 😢
Kudos 👍🏻
This was quite a gem of a documentary about this epic location. Thank you for doing this
This is my first time seeing your video and it was an absolute joy, you have done an extremely well done job. Cheers brother.
I totally agree with you about everything mentioned in this video as a Hyderabadi!!! "Prasads IMAX is an emotion"
A big thank you from all the Hyderabadi's for making this video.
Videos like these is why I love UA-cam. So informative and perfectly executed.
Well done. Best wishes to you.
🙏🙏
This is a very well documented video, Kaustubh... I loved all the aspects, starting from how it begins, how the movies were celebrated, how the interest diminished... I still regret the fact that i missed Interstellar back in 2014..😢 Nevertheless, am glad you've chosen to do this series and covered it so wonderfully!! I can't imagine any other collaborations, other than Karthik Abhiram!! His explanation about his experience is on point!! Definitely a wonderful watch ✨
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you liked it 🙏
Man I used to travel from Delhi and later Bangalore for Prasad’s IMAX back in 2010s Tron was my first movie Awesome
You can still watch IMAX in Bangalore, Delhi etc
Yaaa I have watched in sakets IMAX,delhi
The amount of nostalgia in this video just brought tears to my eyes. Time flies man. Are we really in 2024?
I went from Trivandrum to Prasad IMAX at Hyd, just to watch “Pacific Rim”. It was such a great immersive experience!! It was my first IMAX experience ever!
Absolutely amazing. I appreciate how you touched upon something so rarely discussed on a platform like YT. Keep up the good work and I request you to seek subscribers. It hurts seeing such quality content with low subscriber base.
Thank you! Comments like these keep me going
Oh man, Walking into that starry dome, getting those 3D glasses soooo ICONIC. I saw tons of movies in that screen. Recently, watching Dune 2 in IMAX format after all made me feel all nostalgic. Great Video Bro 🫡
Out of all the videos ever made this is definitely one of them
Yes! And another one of the comments of all time..
@@karthikabhiram bro your cameo was truly one among all the cameos I've seen on UA-cam
Newspaper ads from Deccan Chronicle about IMAX movies at Prasad's ❤
With that interior structure - glass and steel poles.. it almost felt like a secret NASA center whenever i visited the screening of Interstellar there😂
11k equivalent projection of Wormhole and Gargantua scenes blew our minds .
First taste of it was during Inception tho.
Lived in Hyderabad between 2007-2009. I think I saw jaane tu yaan jaane na there. Good memories of the theater and the city.
I just want to say thanks for making this video KD. Lots of information precisely put in..💛
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very well produced video, my country (South Africa) had a dedicated 70mm IMAX building in Cape Town, but it was closed down before i ever got to see a movie there. Best i have at the moment is imax single laser (still amazing)
Damn. I thought India is the only one. Thanks for sharing this tidbit!
I love Prasad's despite the IMAX; it's been a part of my childhood, and now, staying away from my home makes me nostalgic
GREAT VIDEO!!! THANK YOU.
Glad you liked it 🙏
AH mate, amazing video and indepth dive into one of the classic cinema screens in India.
Thank you! Were you the one who watched Oppenheimer ate Vue Printworks, Manchester??
@@KDCloudy haha Yes brother 😆😅
I go to college daily crossing the imax road and i daily see Prasads theater on my way. I remember i watched Avatar with my family in Prasads when i was just a 6 year old or so, at that time i didnt realize the experience of an imax theater. Me and my friends still go to Prasads to watch movies or to go for bowling. Thanks for this video man! You got a subscriber!❤
I know this is recommended to me cuz im a hyderabadi... and im not complaining. Absolutely loved this video.
Great Video mate !
We dont give Prasads its due credit, we are very fortunate to this in our city. We hope we get to experience IMAX once again !
Thanks for making this video in hdr!! Much appreciated!!
Hey! This is insane 🤣
I think I found your screenshot on Twitter somewhere. Really glad you took that screenshot because it was crucial in proving this point.
Glad you got to experience 15/70mm again and happy you liked the video :)
Thank you Bro. Very nice compilation of facts. As a movie lover, I place Prasad's very close to my heart.
I was lucky enough to watch proper IMAX film in Prasad's back in 2012. Dark knight rises, Skyfall and Hobbit.
Nothing ever matched the experience again.
Wow.. This is an excellent explanation bro
Kudos for your efforts 👏👏👏
Prasads is emotion for so many kids and it will be I want to say Prasad’s multiplex thank you for making our childhood memorable 😊😊
Great video! Well made and shot, amazingly edited! Thanks
Nice video.. I still recall my visit to this theatre and was hooked by the quality of sound and screen size .. one of the best theatre experiences ever
Thanks!
Thank you for sharing this story. Prasads IMAX will always be remembered as an icon of this city. A legend of its time.
What a well made video!
Thank you KDCloudy!
Glad you enjoyed!!
Very well explained, mate 💙
Some of the gems I experienced at Prasad’s IMAX that I can never forget:
Dark Knight
Dark Knight Rises
Spider-Man 2 and 3
Transformers 2 and 3
Interstellar
Inception
Pacific Rim
Harry Potter 3,4,5,6,7
I may not have fully realised how special this screen was when I watched it, but only realised its speciality after they removed IMAX.
Love the amount of research and hard work you've put into such a niche topic. Quite the impact!
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked the video
Boddu in the credits, lessgo!
Loved the video, thank you!
I still can’t forget that experience..watched interstellar for around 3 times, every time equally amazed ❤
dude thats a very nice recap, I don't know how you found out the old bms booking page.. you got a new subscriber..!!
One of your finest work my man & yet more to come. video was classy AF, KUDOS to you!
Does anybody else find a blur white spot in the corner when you wear those 3d glasses here? I saw couple of movies and changed glasses as well, but still find that blurry white patch on the left bottom corner of the glass.
Glad to see Karthik sir in this video!
This brought back memories. And I am happy to say that I experienced the last true Imax movie in this theater. Some shots of the movie when images used to fill the complete screen were breathtaking
even now , whenever I want to go to any movie
I will first check prasads . I stay in Manikonda which is 13kms away.
Prasads is brilliant in every aspect.
It's hard to digest that Prasads is no much longer attached to IMAX tag . hopefully we do get back
you are a wonderful narrator. keep it up. Am a Hyderabadiii who saw interstellar in IMAX.
I am soo glad i went to see interstellar in imax with my friends, (we went to take our dental degree certificates ) and i literally forced my friends to watch it,,,my god!! It was an unbelievable experience, that crop scene, wave scene, 2nd planet they visited and accident scene and at last final scene,,, All were soo amazing to watch and when i came out of theatre, i distinctly remembered like i went to whole another planet and came back
Regretting not to watch multiple times but glad i saw atleast one time
I share this frustration with my fellow Hyderabadis. I feel sad whenever i read news about IMAX opening in other cities. I just read a news about Miraj opening new IMAX in Jodhpur
Thanks KD & Team for putting so much effort and making this video.
Prasads is an emotion indeed!
Thank you!
Thanks for the video, Bro. Will definitely visit there one day.
Beautifully done video. Hats off
For the past 10 years, I have been salty about not having the option to watch IMAX presentations.
Damnn, Im moved dude, keep up the good work. QUALITY CONTENTTT
Saw interstellar first day morning show and the experience was unforgettable.from Everest to interstellar I had many memories with imax .
