I’m with you. I’ve hunted & fished, dug ginseng, sassafras root, yellow root, etc. all over East Tennessee, Western NC, SC, Georgia,& Virginia. The scariest things I’ve seen was humans. They’re unpredictable creatures. Most are good, but not all. I’m not saying I’m right, I just haven’t seen them. Camping one time, I was hearing something circling the tent site. It was as loud as all get out. It finally got to a position where I could look out & try to get a look at it. When I did, Red eyes 👀 was behind a bush about 20 yards from me. I took my safety off, & I admit I was spooked)😶Looked through the scope, & it was a big opossum with some babies 😂 I felt relieved & pretty foolish 😅 Good video, have a great day ❤
Good chat with some good information. I often advise people, concerned with black bears to carry a compressed air horn. Pepper spray can be iffy, especially if the person isn't familiar with how it deploys. Folks often don't pay attention to wind direction and can easily does themselves by mistake. A rutting moose has always been a bigger concern to me. That and weasels, lol. They are he extreme example of "little big man syndrome". Weather or not their are the various crytids out there, it is fun to believe and tell the stories.
We do not have the mountains like y'all do, but we do have some heavily wooded areas in east Texas. We have bears, black cougars not so many wolves like when I was a kid, but still some and of course coyotes and bob cats. The worse animals I have ever come across are the human kind. I carry a special hollowed out tool, just for that purpose. It never ceases to amaze me how stupid people can be for absolutely no reason, except just evil.
Good evening, i agree with you, ive been in these mountains of sw.va, wv., nc. All my 61 years, had some strange experiences but nothing i could see. Yes i have seen the most viscous, horrible, ruthless, evil thing in this world, humans. Be prepared its gonna get much worse. Have a blessed day
Good Afternoon 👍🤠👍

50 years in the Iowa forests day and night year round. Never seen or heard anything out of the ordinary. There could be though. Just not around me.
