Hello 👋 friend, that’s a healthy looking black snake. We have a four foot rat snake that has taken up residence under our house. They are great for rodent control, but they are hard on chicks and eggs. I use hardware cloth to keep them out of the chicken run
Hello 👋. Yes, thst is true thst they will also eat chick's and eggs.
Have a great day ❤
Have a great day yourself
My wife has some of those reusable handwarmers. They actually work pretty good.
My wife also had those before I got them. I wasn't sure they worked bit sense she had them I got to try them out.
Good info, I would like to add that liquid bleach is only effective for about 8 months, however, Bleach tablets last for years and Pool shock as well, be careful how much you put in. You can also use a SILVER COIN to sanitize water if you FILTER IT and it's not totally polluted
Be nice if a company out there would make small tabs just for a gallon of water
My understanding is that it's the king snake, which looks similar, that kills copperheads
@@Brocephus1776 I've had alot of old timers tell me they have seen black and red rat snakes kill copperheads , I won't say they are wrong because I have not seen it myself. I don't think I have seen a king snake in thus area either That would be a cool find. Have to keep one of thise around for sure if I found one
@Robertssurvivalsystems There's a black snake that winters somewhere in my house every year. I rarely see it but I find it's sheds. But I don't have any nice so that's a plus

If you’re in a pinch if you get a cut you can put pine sap on a cut to seal it and it’s a natural antiseptic.
yes indeed, I have done that more then a few times.
One thing about Clorox it doesn’t have a long shelf life but if you’re careful you can take pool shock and add to water and make Clorox. Pool shock doesn’t have an expiration date if you keep it dry.
That is more tricky but dose indeed work.

That's a good idea, little more tricky but doable

Good morning!
When I was eight, I was playing in the woods behind the house & I saw these bees flying into the ground. I snuck over to get a better look. I saw the hole they was going in & decided I would plug it up. About five seconds later I learned that they had another hole on the other side of the tree for their exit. I was running & swatting as hard as I could go. I jumped into the pond trying to get away. I scooped mud onto my head and face to stop ‘em from stinging me. I sat in the pond caked up with mud for a long time before they stopped flying at me. By the time I made it to the back porch I was swelling. My eyes were almost swelled shut except for little slits open enough to see. My Dad’s face was pure fright. I never will forget the way he looked. He thought someone had hurt me. I told him bees attacked me and chased me into the pond. While he was rinsing me off with a water hose one of the yellow jackets 🐝 fell out of my hair dead on the ground. I started getting real sick. Dad rushed me to the hospital. I had been stung 83 times. I had to stay at the hospital overnight. I was okay in a couple of days and Dad said “ I need to know where they are”😳 He aimed to wipe them out, and I wanted to help, so he got his old metal gas can that he got while he was in the Army and we went to the spot. We sat & watched with binoculars till he spotted the hole they was using, & the hole I had stuck my stick in was open again. I don’t know how the stick got knocked over, but it wasn’t in the hole the way I left it. Dad told me to take flanking position & he had sharpened a stick for me. He said I want you to take the stick & stab it into the back hole, & I’m going to pour the gas into the main hole at the same time, so we did. He trailed a little gas stream off from the hole and gas can & flipped out his Zippo lighter and tossed it at the gas. We ran behind the tree and it made a whoosh sound and fire 🔥 blew out the hole with the stick I had stuck in the hole 😱 We got ‘em all.😂 Dad didn’t like doing that, but he said this hillside ain’t big enough for us & the yellow jackets. I learned a valuable lesson, don’t go messing around with stuff that you don’t know about and even if you do, leave it alone😂
@@billiep4338 I hate that you got tore up like that. But you got payback in the end lol. Thank you for sharing the story.

Good evening, i agree with you, ive been in these mountains of sw.va, wv., nc. All my 61 years, had some strange experiences but nothing i could see. Yes i have seen the most viscous, horrible, ruthless, evil thing in this world, humans. Be prepared its gonna get much worse. Have a blessed day
@@Vester661 Thank you for watching and sharing. You have a blessed day as well
I’m with you. I’ve hunted & fished, dug ginseng, sassafras root, yellow root, etc. all over East Tennessee, Western NC, SC, Georgia,& Virginia. The scariest things I’ve seen was humans. They’re unpredictable creatures. Most are good, but not all. I’m not saying I’m right, I just haven’t seen them. Camping one time, I was hearing something circling the tent site. It was as loud as all get out. It finally got to a position where I could look out & try to get a look at it. When I did, Red eyes 👀 was behind a bush about 20 yards from me. I took my safety off, & I admit I was spooked)😶Looked through the scope, & it was a big opossum with some babies 😂 I felt relieved & pretty foolish 😅 Good video, have a great day ❤

Line up the handle with one of the stove legs, just a little more stable.
@@RS4393 thank you for the tip
We do not have the mountains like y'all do, but we do have some heavily wooded areas in east Texas. We have bears, black cougars not so many wolves like when I was a kid, but still some and of course coyotes and bob cats. The worse animals I have ever come across are the human kind. I carry a special hollowed out tool, just for that purpose. It never ceases to amaze me how stupid people can be for absolutely no reason, except just evil.
I understand what you mean. Its a sad state of affairs.
I have been in these Mountains my Whole life and ain't seen no Sasquatch but always watching 👍
Yeah same here lol. I don't expect I will either
Good Afternoon 👍🤠👍
Good afternoon to you as well
It's a samsquanch boys lol
Harry and smelly
Good chat with some good information. I often advise people, concerned with black bears to carry a compressed air horn. Pepper spray can be iffy, especially if the person isn't familiar with how it deploys. Folks often don't pay attention to wind direction and can easily does themselves by mistake. A rutting moose has always been a bigger concern to me. That and weasels, lol. They are he extreme example of "little big man syndrome". Weather or not their are the various crytids out there, it is fun to believe and tell the stories.
Good point about the spray. The horn probably be better . I agree it is a very fun subject to talk about

50 years in the Iowa forests day and night year round. Never seen or heard anything out of the ordinary. There could be though. Just not around me.

Your right about carrying to much gear for new folks getting into outdoor skills. I need to go through my backs and see what I really need after gaining more skills. I know I can eliminate some things to lighten the load.
I often go though my packs as well to change things. The seasons changing usually has me going though them at least 4 times a year alone.
Good advice, going through scenarios that are applicable, almost everyone will have different needs for reaching safety!
I found that there are so many different ways to do the same task that it would be more beneficial to approach it what way
Hello 👋 from western Tennessee, I appreciate every video you put out. Thank you for taking the time to share with people simple survival skills in a time of great uncertainty and unrest. I have been a woodsman for many decades and I have learned new things that are available now that weren’t in the sixties and seventies. You might think what you’re putting out here sounds boring or rambling, not the case my friend. These are skills that are lacking in the general public and only those willing to learn these things have a snowballs chance of survival.🙏👍💪🙌🍀🌈✌️
Thank you very much. I am very happy to hear the videos are appreciated 😊.
