    Great video, can you please tell me if a post processor for fusion 360 provided with this machine?

      @techydiy  Рік тому +4

      I used the standard fusion 360 grbl post processor, it has worked without any problems.

    Brilliant. I have learnt so much from this video. could you please advise on a similar setup with more rigidity and precision, mainly for metal cutting and engraving Thank you.

    Great video. Do you think the Vasto XXL machine is as sturdy as the Vasto 4040 machine? I'm tempted with the Vasto 4040 machine but to future proof my work do you think you can use the XXL without compromising machine rigitidy?

    • @techydiy
      @techydiy  8 місяців тому

      They become less rigid as the size increases but it is still a good solid machine.

    did you ever try to cut steel with the vasto XXL

    • @techydiy
      @techydiy  9 місяців тому

      No. I don’t see why it wouldn’t cut steel occasionally with a spindle upgrade.

      @@techydiy thats actually i was asking for.. i sometimes need to cut small part of steel... and i have seen one that you uses a vasto cutting steel.. There you made a spindle update... and for me the xxl is more useful because of the size. So its justs a question if you tried it ot if you believe that would work in principle. But that you for you reply !!

      You should hollow out the center and use a plasma torch to modify with a torch height controller to cut metal. But the water will rust your ferrous parts etc.

    Awesome video and thank you for sharing. The gantry plates look quite thin compared to say the 6040's. What is the thickness?

    • @techydiy
      @techydiy  Рік тому +1

      I don't know anything much about 6040 machines.
      60mm x 130mm total. Top and bottom plates are 20mm thick.
      It is rigid, I can stand on it no problem.

      @@techydiy Thank you for your reply. Yes this machine is deceivingly rigid and well built. Besides watching your video and looking at a few pic on the website about the BF/BK bearing, 15mm linear rails/block along with 16mm ball screws. As you can understand, It is difficult to know without purchasing it - the different type of profiles it uses as to whether they using a combination of 4080 (y) and 4060 (x) or 2080/2060. That information would also provide an idea of the ability of the aluminium profiles to provide the accuracy and repeatability. I'm interested in milling aluminium parts and from what you have demonstrated the machine does appear handle the soft metals quite well. If you are able to shed any light on the profiles and their sizes that, it will be greatly appreciated.

      The sides are 100x20mm. The front cross bars are 40x20mm. The front plates are 6mm thick. The bed plates interlock.
      It is absolutely fine cutting aluminium but the spindle needs upgrading. I use a 1.5kW VFD spindle on the smaller machine ( ua-cam.com/video/wXdCVjYmAhA/v-deo.html) and that works great. On this XXL machine I am going to put on a 2kW vfd spindle but I have to mill a new mounting plate as its 80mm diameter.

      @@techydiy Thank you so much for taking the time to measure up the profiles sizes. I will do some more research and decide. In the meantime keep up the good work and looking forward to seeing more reviews and videos of cnc projects.

    PLEASE HELP
    I bought the Vasto XL and the Z controls are not working properly... When I'm in GRBL and press "up" the machine will randomly go "down" and vice versa.
    I've looked at the $$ configurations and everything seems normal...
    I've swapped the Z motor cable with the X motor cable and the problem changes to the X axis...
    Nothing seems burnt out or frayed... I need help!

      @@techydiy How do I do that? And what do I change it to?

    • @techydiy
      @techydiy  11 місяців тому +2

      Enter $$ in the console to look at the current value for $3
      Write it down
      Read the document I listed above to see what the value means
      See the table in $2 for the values for each axis
      Change the value by entering $3= new value
      See what difference it makes.
      The other option is to get a new cable, it appears to be wired differently from the other cables.
