I love the scale look of these and how well the rear suspension works. I wish Tamiya would make remastered versions of the Hopper/Hornet/Lumchbox etc using the same setup as this truck. It has a solid axle and the motor is on the axle too, just like the Tamiyas. But because this has proper suspension links, the suspension works great. On the Tamiya pivot setup, the entire axle tries to rotate which just pulls the shocks open until they lock up. Any time you use the throttle on those vehicles, the suspension becomes completely inoperable. You could replace the shocks for solid metal bars and it would have no effect on the handling it's that bad. I would so love to see those classic designs but with functional suspension like the Kyosho. I actually made my Lunchbox 4-link at the rear and it makes a massive difference to the handling but I still wish Tamiya would do it instead of pumping out those "comical" versions of the classics.
Well said my friend, on this case though it's best to switch to a brand like kyosho where they do redesign their lineup and parts are available online. I'm truly in love with this platform, I can even say this is my favorite truck to run because how well it handles and how fun it is to drive. 😎🤘🏻

The speed is not the issue with these gears. The actual problem is dirt or small debris getting into the axle casing damaging the gears. Hope this helps.
