A few years ago I bought Ryobi's best 18V string trimmer and it's plenty powerful enough, it has a variable speed trigger and a two speed switch, I never take it out of position 1 because it works that well.

Glad ya found an 18V that works for ya. I've seen so many people buy the smaller ones for large yards, then complain because it's too small for their yard, or not powerful enough to put a blade on it and rip through overgrown areas.
Just got to get the right tool for the job, and sounds like you found yours 😊
