Not all plants can withstand too much water. It's still advisable to give plants just enough water, even Aloe vera. I just want the viewers to focus on the real culprit in Aloe vera rotting which are the fungus and bacteria that resides in the soil, specially wet soil.

Environment. If rH is to high than all around the plant has to much access to moisture. If dry area then it can transpire. Like if really humid place, you don't need to really water almost at all. Also standing water in the valley of the leaves. Does the plant not inadvertently soak that water in without a choice over saturating the meat of the aloe starting the rot?

Hello, since you've mentioned that the younger ones were lighter because they were placed indoors, I remembered my aloes turning brownish when they were actually green (not sure of the species, but I think similar of those in the vid). May I ask what might be the problem or what should I do to them?

If it is Aloe vera and it's turning brown indoors, then there's a root problem. Also check if the leaves are thinning. This means that the plant is thirsty. The plant is not absorbing water because the roots are rotting.

I just recently bought an Aloe Vera plant, and it is the first plant I have ever owned. I've only watered it once (it is due for another watering today) but I have noticed that one of the leaves seems to be dying. A large chunk of the base has turned into a mushy black. I did cut the tip of the same leaf off when I first bought it as it was brown at the end. The line where I did the cut is now black and the rest of the tip is yellowing as of yesterday. I did the same on another leaf, but that one is healthy. In fact, the rest of the plant seems pretty healthy with the exception of that leaf. I did not water it immediately after buying it because the soil was still damp. Could I have overwatered it my first time? Or is it underwatered? Hope I was descriptive enough to provide you with a general idea!

I also bought bigger aloe veras which are thicker and a little odory smelly.
I thought that to be do to the pot soil and changed a week ago but I can still find some odor when I cut the leaves.
    Whats your opinion about this.
Also I know that the one that I bought are barbadensis but I kinda like the one that my aunt gave me which is a little more sensitive and produces alot of pups but less gel.

pls help me if its not over water. can u say something about root rot of my aloes im planning to repot them tommorow as in. because one of the stem already gave up i dont want to loose them 😔

Root rot happens because of a bacteria or a fungus, that is why you have to separate the rotting plant because it will infect others too. These bacteria or fungus thrives well in a wet environment. It is best to use a well draining soil for potting.

It's not the water, it's the fungus and bacteria in the soil.
