Here are the mats we use:
    amzn.to/2NOq0wH
It took us 20 years working in construction and landscaping to discover this simple solution that has worked every time.
Not just for securing tarps but keeping items from shifting around on those hard shell bed protectors or slick metal truck beds.
We’ve never seen anyone else using these for this purpose, so it seemed a great hauling hack to share.

I love the fact that in a video about securing compost in a pickup truck you used the phrase "open source".

I just had this idea last night to lay a couple of these exact mats down inside a livestock trailer that has no tiedown anchors, so I could put three jumbo filled coolers on them, tie the coolers together, and they might not move or tip. Since the search engines seem to know out what I'm thinking, your blog post popped up today to confirm that it will probably work. And now you've given me all these other ideas for how I can use these mats in carrying loads, thank you!!!

This was very helpful! I used to work at a restaurant and they let me have their busted mats and it works like a charm. Great video

Seems like a bit of roping across the mats wouldn't hurt, and could be quickly done.

Good point, Jimmy Chadwick! We've used tie downs if it's a high load and/or if it's somewhat "slick" cargo where mats might have a tendency to slide.

There's never anything wrong with the belt and suspenders approach.

@1WildlandFirefighter Yes! Thank you for your kind reply.
Native Russians are akin to Native American Indians. There are numerous indigenous tribes. Nikolai's genetics are Koryak, which are nomadic reindeer tribe focused in the Magadan (far eastern) side of Russia, that's inaccessible except by snow mobile or helicopter nearly 6 months of the year. We brought him home at age two, after the death of his birth mom. Our daughter is adopted from India. #WeAreTheWorld! :-)
