About 'Growing a World Wonder'
The Great Green Wall is an African-led project which aims to grow a new wonder of the world across the width of Africa. Its goal is to provide food, jobs and a future for the millions of people who live in a region on the frontline of climate change.
‘Growing a World Wonder’ captures the story of the Great Green Wall in awe-inspiring Virtual Reality (VR). The film follows Binta, a young Senegalese girl, as she and her family tend to their section of the Wall. It explores the challenges they face and how the project is already transforming their lives for the better.
Created using the latest VR camera and drone technology, the film captures both the epic ambition of the project and the intimate human story of the people at its heart.
The film is produced by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), developed in association with venture three, Apache, Al Maxwell & Surround Vision.

We need to donate some tractors. just a 35hp john deer would get so much more done
Except that would cut usable space in half or less, requiring significantly more walking to harvest and plant, or requiring a seeder, harvester, and electric plow. Commercial plants like corn aren’t in rows 4 or 5 feet away because that’s how much space they need to grow, they’re that far away because that’s how much space the tractor needs to get between them. Tractors are efficient for max production, but not for individual production.
I hope corrupt people are kept away from this project..

This is one of the most important projects of our time. I support it whenever I can.
In Mauritania they're using Acacia tree and it's paying for itself in gum arabica. Gum arabica is used I think for cohesion food, soft drinks, medicine. If the villages look anything like the ones shown in this they need to talk deployed solar and microgrids. A BioLite Starter pack about $150 three lights, battery small solar panel. Let the kids do homework or read at night.
