R.I. P Norman Wisdom who had been suffering from a series of strokes passed away today, October 4 2010 age 95..He was one of the funniest and brilliant actors ever .
Not to mention a good dancer, he played seemingly every instrument and was a top boxer in his weight class while in the army. He's was totally amazing and yet still one of the sweetest guy going.
you brought laughs and tears to our faces and kept our eyes glued to our screens he will be forever in our hearts and will go down in history with our charlie chaplin and laurel and hardy he will be forever known and loved through many generations sweet dreams lovely. aged 95 Sir Norman Wisdom RIP x
The man was a real gent, a hero and star way above the rest. He didnt have to swear or be violent to be funny and was the ultimate funnyman. A star as past that will burn in our memories forever :'-( R.I.P. Sir Norman and thank you for the fantastic memories, you are sorely missed.
It is so Sad Norman is no longer with us he brought so much joy to everyone his films were great (they don't make them like that any more) Norman was so talented Rest in Peace Dear Sir Norman.
The wonderful thing about Norman is the way he played characters who were very much underdogs in life, he gave hope that somewhere down the line even though you maybe seen as one of lifes 'losers', that one day you'd have the last laugh, as someone who had to endure a lot of bullying in school and always being told how useless I was, he was an important inspiration to me growing up, RIP Norman Wisdom.
Without Norman Wisdom my childhood would have been so, well he brought laughter into my world and made it richer. And, sometimes, he would make me cry.
A genuine man. I met him once in Kendal some 20 years ago. I told him he reminded me of Norman Wisdom. He said "Son I am Norman Wisdom" Oh dear! He brought lots of happiness RIP in Gods good grace.
I bumped into Norman on the Isle of Man about 10 years ago as I was going into a hotel. He put on an impromptu act by spinning around in the revolving door and collapsing in a heap outside. Just couldn't help himself performing. Had me in stiches. I gave him a peck on the cheek and wished him all the best. Love him x.
i grew up from an early age watching norman wisdom ..one hell of a funny guy... will always be remembered...R.I.P Norman..... keep them laughing in heaven ! xxxx goodnight godbless...xxx
I asked to sing this song in my musical theatre groups show, I sent a recording to Mr Wisdom, who wrote back to me and said it's the first time he'd heard a lady sing it. And what a lovely singing voice I had, and he was honoured I'd chosen this song to sing. Chuffed is not the word, my letter was proudly displayed front of house
what a beautiful story, I had a lump in my throat reading it, and what a lovely example of the magnificent man himself, I 've always loved his films and he will always be remembered as a comedic genius.
This must be one of his most beautiful recordings. Amazing all round eccentric performer who spanned generations. My children born in the 90s loved his old films.
RIP Norman. You will be greatly missed, a true original and imitated by so many. One of the last of the all time greats and a real star in the true sense of the word. You were and are an inspiration Norman, you will never be forgotten…….

RIP Norman
No matter how often I listen to this (I have his studio recording) or watch this video, it brings a tear to my eye. I feel just like Esma Cannon, the lady filling her cup with sugar cubes, it touches the heart, and makes you forget what you are doing.
