Thanks so much for making this video, it was so helpful. I don't understand why my brain couldn't figure how to do this, but I'm so grateful for creators like you for sharing knowledge!

Thank you for this video, I was struggling with that inside seam!

There's no skipped stitches because the coverstitch machine is a Babylock. This can be much more challenging on other domestic coverstitch machines.

Hi, great video sarah! I wondered though, how would you topstitch the inside leg when you have a triangle gusset? With the gusset i can't topstitch before sewing both legs together and then would have to match my topstitch in the middle, and be a little less clean looking?

wow now I want a coverstitch machine! I'd love to see the triple straight stitch side. Why is it caller reverse coverstitch?

Because the seam is being stitched so that the reverse side of a one-sided coverstitch is on the right side. Some coverstitch machines can do a double sided coverstitch, but if yours can't, this is a way to get a similar look. On a double sided coverstitch the right side of the stitch is flat. The reverse side always has loops, so the side with loops ends up on top when you do a reverse coverstitch.

Sarah, Thanks so much for this video. I've tried your technique but did not do a very good job. Any tips on how to prevent the coverstitch from being wavy? I had a difficult time keeping the coverstitching straight over the seam toward the ankle area. Also, my coverstitch stitches were off because of all the stretching and pulling. Any additional tips? Thanks again for the video.

Thank you Sarah. I just bought the same machine and am having difficulty finding how-to videos! So happy to be a new subscriber. Question: can I use my coverstitch machine on home dec fabric?

Yes, you can, but you'll wan to reduce the differential feed to 1.0 since it won't stretch.

Thanks for the tutorial Sarah! I’ve been wanting to try coverstitching my leggings seams because they are bothering me. Couple of questions for you: are all three needles hitting in the seam allowance or is the third needle (farthest right) off of the seam? Do you have your differential feed in neutral? What stitch length do you use? I have the same cover stitch machine and knowing your settings would be super helpful. Thanks for your help!

Sorry- just now seeing this! My DF is set to 1.8 usually with stretch fabrics, and the right needle is usually just barely off the seam. There is a better close up in my Reverse Coverstitch tutorial here: www.sewingwithsarah.com/sewalong/super-g-sal-day-2/

Hi Sarah, is this the same look as flat lock stitch? I have a triumph baby lock, Should I do a flat lock stitch instead of doing the reverse coverstitch? Thanks
