My daughter Naomi died from a chemical in a hair product called PPD. She went into anaphylactic shock 3 days after having her hair highlighted. She had this done many times before. You made an excellent choice to go natural. You also look beautiful.
Yay! Such a beautiful color love the dark underneath it really gives definition around your face and connects the color of your eyebrows. Great look! I'm at 18 months too. just cut the last inch of red/blonde dye off a couple weeks ago. I have silver blend mostly on top with dark mid to low scalp as well. I just fee like my natural color compliments my skin so much I look health and confident as it does for you! Congratulations and thank you for your series, it has been a support to me in this journey.
I totally get you. I’m also really happy for you. I’m in month 19. I can remember second guessing myself when I started. I’m also glad I’ve stuck it out. There were times I realized I was thinking about my hair more than I did in high school! 🤣 Finally, now it no longer consumes me…I’m just me again. Growing out coloured hair is liberating, and definitely something to be proud of. It’s not for wimps. Congratulations, you look beautiful and so happy!
You look like you just spent $200 at the salon for this beautiful look and color! I’m on month 5 and am so excited to finally be at a place - at 51 hrs old - to be ready to go natural. Thank you for this supportive video.
I’m so happy you came across my feed! I had 18 months in and my mom and a friend kept telling me for months I was to young to go gray, so in November I colored my hair and 2 more times and regretted it right away. Now I’m 28 days since my last color and growing it back out
I was skeptical as I watched your check-in vids. After 6 mo I thought you would be disappointed transitioning to natural grey but at 18 mo I think your hair looks flattering, lovely & healthy!! Congratulations.
Thank you so much for sharing your inspiring journey. Your natural hair is beautiful. I am only two months dye free. You have inspired me to press on. Thank you!
Beautiful cut and beautiful skin. I always thought I’d color my hair but as my white strands come in I think I just might let it be. Please share your makeup tips!
I started my grey journey over 2 years ago...I only cut my hair about 1 to 2 inches at a time because I like it long. I was lucky, I had been very light blonde for 30 years so not so bad on the demarcation line. I have a couple of inches to go and I'm so excited. I love my new hair...mostly salt with a couple of dark streaks and light brown in the back. Your hair looks awesome. Thanks for sharing this video❤
Hair looks excellent. Well I'm on the beginning of the journey, guess I'll try to enjoy the trip. I did notice a piece of white in a certain light yesterday that freaked me out, on the side. Thought for a moment of dying that one piece back. But have forgotten about it since, and seen some more videos like yours with very good looking hair.
I kind of like the little bit of dark hair at the bottom. So cute. So that depth of the color of your underneath showing through bottom and even bit on temples etc. is really nice looking; I didn't expect that or think about that. Hope I get that.
Absolutely beautiful!! I love when you show your progress! It’s very motivating! I am almost three years dye free! I wish I had more silver sparkle! I’m actually posting a video today with my journey!! Stay beautiful naturally! 🍑🙌🏻🧡Lisa
I love it! I went grey 4 years ago. I get more compliments on my gray hair than I ever did on my $100 dye jobs. Mine is a nice salt and pepper. I like it a lot. I'm 57. Mostly I'm excited about all the money I'm saving by not going to the salon, and the dye started to irritate my scalp also.
Wow I love your hair! I'm currently getting through my month 7. I measured my outgrowth and its only 6cm 😭 my hair seems to grow so slowly. I had a lot of highlights put into my dyed hair when I started so you can't really see the demarcation line but my hair has suffered a lot of damage and so much of the highlighted hair snapped off and still keeps braking despite of the top notch care I give it. I just want it to grow all out just do I have healthy hair again. I'm starting to see the pattern I have most greys on the top of my head, nothing around my face at the moment
Absolutely beautiful 😍 I went from long hair to a pixie cut August 2021 to get rid of blonde box colour that I'd been using for 5 yrs 🙄 my now colour is similar to your's & growing nicely, I'm booked in for a trim march 2022 & can just tuck it behind my ear's, can I ask what product's you use to maintain this beautiful natural look x
I realized you haven't posted for a year. Life/priority changes happen, I get it. But, my gray, I think, will be similar to yours when it grows in, plus, I now wear the same length. My profile pic are highlights from when I thought I had more gray. Alas, a darker salt and pepper, still. Thank you for your posts, I find them helpful during this transition.
Hi your hair looks amazing, shiny and healthy and so lovely to hear how happy you are with it. I'm at a similar stage, the journey for me has been a real challenge at times, however now at peace with my hair. Look forward to your next update. Xx
You have inspired me not to dye my hair. I found my first grey hairs this past winter and I'm going own them. Thank you for sharing your journey. You look beautiful.
I am looking forward to being gray 100%. I have a lot more gray on my side and under then top so I will see. I FEEL I need patience with this transition LOL
Hi Kat…last update Sept 2021. Thank you. Anymore? I’ve been growing out grey since COVID I’m almost where you were 9/21. Would love to see current update for more inspiration. Where are you?
Salt and pepper, makes you look very classy. Also makes you look younger. I’m sure you stand out in a crowd. Please keep your natural color, don’t go back to dying your hair. You look Gorgeous the way you are now😘
Maybe in daylight it looks more gray/silver (like when you tipped into camera light)? If I didn't know, I'd think you had ashy brown hair still! I let mine grow 3 months (years of box blonde) and lightened hair; used box silver and just did whole head. The grow out? Piece of cake. Im can, if i look close, see the demarcation. Purple shampoo keeps yellow out and I love the new freedom.
Wondering if being young 30 or older 60 when you decided to stop dying makes a difference. Being many more years of processed hair, and I am whew fed up with dying getting dark hair dye all over the place, and really not wanting to do process to hide the grow out, might be a shock, being dying my hair since 16 blue black now dark brown and sort of long how to start how to start
Have you found you have to adjust the colors in your wardrobe ? Your coloring is very similar to mine, and as my grey is growing in, I find myself thinking “oh great, I have to figure out what colors look good all over again.”
How old are you? I'm using color remover on my hair tomorrow to get rid of as much of the brown dye as it will take off. I have no idea what I will be left with. I decided it was sick of root touch-ups every 3 weeks and was going to get as close to my natural grey as I can. My hair is shoulder length, like yours. I've been dyeing my hair for years so I have no idea how much grey is under the dye or what color it is.

The color looks good when you do the entire turn around. I'm just at about 13-14 weeks now, kind of slow.
You look spectacular.
