- I'm sharing my new grey hair transition haircut to mark 1-year dye-free (next week). I've been looking forward to this haircut to celebrate hitting the one year mark of my grey hair transition this month.

I remember watching this and other videos when I was first starting my "journey." It was so important at the time; you were already there, and could show us the results. Now it's a year later, I've grown the grey for a year, and I like the pattern I have. Quite proud of it. Sometimes it looks like really cool streaks. So I like it a lot, but also sometimes I don't like it so much. I finally felt like I wanted to break up some of the patches of grey I have with some lowlights, and so am planning now to do this in a couple of days. It was a hard decision to come to, because I really do like my grey, but as I said, sometimes I don't like it also. But I'm glad I grew it out, totally, because I couldn't have the look I want without the grey having grown out as well. Thanks.

You look wonderful! Great cut- does have neat ombre look. Awesome and inspiring, my transition timing is very similar to yours, but I am growing out blonde highlights. I plan to go shorter with some layers to try and get rid of most of it. Best of wishes to you!!

Your new Bob hair style really suits you, the grey and the brown blend really well. I will be at my 1 year mark the first week of April. I am white/grey and dark brown, I've also been bracing my curls for the last 18 months so 2 hair journeys lol. I trim my hair every 3 months it's getting shorter and shorter but still below my shoulders when wet but springs up when dry. I have been contemplating a bob but still not sure. Same for me 1 year, in fact I can't believe just how similar my hair grey and coloured part matches yours, not only in colour but length and length of grey growth 🙏 its getting harder for me to keep going I am wearing hats to cover the grey but I hope I don't give in to peer pressure 🇬🇧🙏

You look gorgeous. I’m at the same stage of growing out although I think your hair growth might be faster than mine 😞. But we’ve been in lockdown since December here in Ireland so no haircut for the past four months and no sign of hairdressers opening for another two months and my hair is a disaster. I can’t wait to get it cut and hope it looks even half as good as yours 😚

It looks AMAZING! I’ve been 17 months in the grey journey, cold turkey as well, I XL length, used to dye in black, so demarcation line is obvious, however I’m not ready to cut my hair yet, probably by the 24th month

Wow looks good I'm so fed up of dying my hair I keep trying to just grow it our but I look terrible I'm 53 so it doesn't help that my face is melting but I think I'm just gonna have to do it ...also for reasons I'm not sure of my hair goes through radical fall out( bald spot at the front and general thinning) then it grows back over the months this has been happening since I had my first baby 21 years ago .. I used to have wavey thick hair not anymore sadly ...but you are an inspiration so I'm going to try this just go for it ...I can wear a hat

It looks great and also much healthier. I reached one year dye free in February, and I'm getting it cut for the first time next week. Although it is tempting after seeing this, I won't be going as short.

Take how brass ie the dyed ends were. I walk by a female a barber frequently and stopped in 10 days after my $90 haircut and had her chop ALL the dyed ends. It's been 4" weeks and I'm getting used to it. Plus, I'm getting many complements, even from some young edgy chicks. I'm done, but still getting used to seeing me solve instead of brunette.

Going grey is so much healthier for your hair. I was doing henna for a while which was actually quite healthy for my hair, but I just said I was done with it and I am embracing my silver strands. Mine is less than 10% silver, so I am just going to go with it. My husband has a beautiful silver color on his head and beard. I hope mine eventually gets there. Mine reaches to my elbows, I long it long as does my husband, so I am not going to ask him to cut off anymore than the usual 1” trim he gives me every couple months.

It was with the encouragement of my husband, who was the one applying the henna for me. My best friend and a couple other people that I know are also going dye free. I do have one friend that is all silver, but she is still dying her hair jet black, and the skunk stripe is not attractive at all. They are my silvers, I earned them, and the great news is that if your hair goes silver, it will not be falling out. My husband got ribbings about his hair turning in his early 40’s, but he reminded the guys with the shiny look, that he would rather go silver than shiny.

I considered them, but ended up going cold turkey. I found the demarkation line didn't bother me (probably because it's salt & pepper and has some brown acting like lowlights naturally).

your haircut really suites you and looks good, did you manage to donate your hair to a chairty or was it thrown away? its a big change, have you got use to the breeze on your neck? you seam really happy to have got rid of your hair and looks like your haircut as made you happy and you can tell how much fun yuor having and enjoying your hair the way your moving about and just looking happy

thats a pitty your hairs had to be thrown away and couldnt be donated, was there much hair on the floor? it looks alot shorter its amazing what 4 inches cut off can do, will you be keeping it short or growing it back? its good you like your hair its got so much movment now

I experimented with bangs for a while in my 20s, and I think I'll keep away for now 😉 I was mixed on them.

I want to grow my grey hair out as well. I've been coloring it, but it's been several months since I have. Every time my greys show, my older sister tells me I need to dye it. I told her I'm growing it out and she looks at me in shock and her eyes and face are in disgust over my plan. It's very disheartening. I'm 52, my hair is long and brown, with silver coming through, which looks to be a bit less than yours. My sister, however, has white hair all over, so she dyes hers. It looks bad when she has it dyed and white comes through, making her look bald actually, with the dyed hair either black, red or purple. She had it blue as well. She's 55.
My husband doesn't really mind it with the grey. Since my sister lives with us, it's aggrivating hearing her comments telling me u need to dye my hair.
Maybe I'll do the grey/purple look in the future. For now, I'm just going to keep aggrivating my sister with my hair. Lol!
Today i promise myself that i will not dyed my hair again and will let my gray hair grow.
I don't understand why you ask people for their advice do what makes you feel good
