Just watched this video having watched your one on the S400; your info on having to cock the rifle to fill is worth it’s weight in gold. I’ll find out tomorrow fingers-crossed and THANK YOU! Great video and great work too

@@leec8592 For an HFT comp that cylinder is more than enough. I can't quite make it round with a BSA Ultra but they have a much smaller cylinder. I use a 500cc pony bottle to top up half way round.
Hello, I would like to make a titanium air tank. Do you know what is the thread of the air tank on your model? This would be a huge help before dismantling mine. Thank you
I know your pain, FTPs and EV2s are a nightmare to pull apart if they haven't been serviced before. I did an FTP recently and I noticed that AA have taken to thread locking the reg adjuster screw. It's taking anti tamper a bit too far I reckon. Lol.
Jeeze didn't think it could get worse, I like Air Arms, but they just seem to go down the wrong path with the AT, the ones in the block are fine no problem, a determined and careful person can get them out without too much hassle with no more than a hand drill and it provides a little deterrent for unnecessary tampering's, but any further than that and you are just hindering people trying to service there own rifles, just seems like such a backward thing to do, you are more likely to damage something getting the AT out then servicing the rifle, silly really. Thanks for watching.
Hi, Really interested in this as planning similar on my S400 Carbine but swapping to a shortened CZ200 barrel - when machining the barrel for the breech end - did you machine an undercut for the oring, and would you recommend this or add the 2 brass parts that contain the oring?
I machined in the O ring groove to the barrel its self, because of the slightly different breech on the HFT500 compared to the S400, either way would work though, if you are confident in internal o ring grooves go for it, if not its going to be much easier just to buy the brass breach and machine the barrel to fit it, there its not going to be much benefit one way or the other, so just do what you are comfortable with. Thanks for watching.
I've been chewing this idea over for a while good work! But I would have loved to watch the machining work on the barrel buddy!! I really find it interesting and contemplating getting a lathe my self..ps I see you use good quality tools any chance you could put a link in the description and or a list of makers names and where to get hold of decent stuff please👍👍
Thanks, was going to video the barrel but I talked myself out of it, as for tools, EDS are the Hex drivers, link below, and most of the machine tool bits come from cutwel, more expensive than the import stuff but it lasts and works, in machine tools you 1000% get what you pay for, but there is no shame in the Chinese stuff when your starting out, your going to break bits and it hurts a lot less when you break an inexpensive tool. Thanks for watching. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/352606858023

Nice video, I'm currently shooting lsr with my hft500 and contemplating turning it into a carbine, out of interest do you know much much weight was taken out of the rifle (weight listed as 3.7kg)
Didn't think of that, too be honest its not so much the weight but the balance, shortening it should bring the weight back and make it more controllable. Thanks for watching.
I love mine only to long Iff you want to put a silencer is it possible only make tred on it for a silencer or not possible? Thanks a lot for your excellent video
Great vid....but why would you want to shorten this amazing rifle. On a 200 bar fill I'm getting 120 usable shorts from my HFT500, will very little fall off on trajectory. I could understand shortening a lesser PCP, but this is one of AA finest.....don't fix it if it ain't broke.
it's simple he wanted it shorter to go in a Aaron stock to compete in HFT he only needs 50 shots so didn't need the long cylinder or barrel getting in the way 👍
Hi, Really been enjoying your vids, great engineering work. Can this be done the other way round? I have a S510 US Reg and wanted to put the HFT Air Cylinder and barrel on it. TIA 🙂
So did that not just cut power and distance and you now get less shots . good video and good work!! But I don't understand why you would want to do it to a rifle ?
Will still make sub 12 power, will still shoot at the same distances, shot count will be lower (only 30 required for intended use + cease fires so 40 is plenty) done for a better balanced rifle
I got a kral puncher breaker at min but looking for a good break barrel but I don't like the stocks on ones I see there to blocky it would be good to see him shape some stocks for better balance and looks and grip and save weight . PCP rifkes always get good upgrades why don't break barrels get good stock upgrades
@@sub12airgunners i have a HFT500 breech block also, could i lift the whole breech/barrel assembly off the HFT500 and drop it onto the S500 action? Im trying to make a Hybrid 20ft/lb rifle for hunter class FT here in the US

Excellent video with a lot of clear and useful information. Thanks 🙏
well i cant find an update with performance but love the idea of taking some weight of the front of a solid rifle. what's the result like?
You really no your stuff, Fair play and a pleasure to watch,👌
thank you glad you liked it 😁
Again great upload guys👍 (ps you can never be to barrel heavy 😁) much appreciated my favourite UA-cam channel!
I would tend to agree, I do like a good barrel, but its nice to mix it up a little.
Nice video again, they should really give this as a standard offering from the factory. Will be interesting to see how it has effected the shot count.
I reckon the shot count will have gone down :-)

Nice timing, just sold my HFT and bought a S400 MPR FT cos the HFT was to long 🙄
Looking forward to accuracy testing on this 👍
Ill try and do a little update on it, I may end up having to reg it, but we will see. Thanks for watching.
Brilliant work as always.
Thanks glad you enjoyed. Thanks for watching.
Is removing the guage actually necessary as I'm working on an S400 currently and just to get the cylinder off it doesnt seem to be necessary.

not a 100% but i think the HFT 500 barrel is 14mm and the S500 is 12mm so it would need turning down
