You asked so I will tell you. I am a rider. New to it. Only been riding my KLR for a couple of years. I watch a lot of your videos to get inspiration. I'm also a mountain biker. So I divide my time between the two. Your content is great. I love how your wife drives the van and has her own adventures and then you meet up to share your stories! My wife LOVES that idea.
Been riding since 1964. This is my favorite breakdown story: Around 1978 I was touring eastern Canada on my '71 Triumph Bonny. Of course I had a minor electrical problem. While working on it by the side of the road, a nice couple stopped to help. They were in a pickup truck, on their way to dinner. I said I thought I could fix it, and they said "if you are still here when we are on our way back home, we'll load your bike in the truck and you can stay at our house tonight, then we'll get you to a bike shop in the morning". Well, I got it fixed and I was back on the road. Sadly, I never saw them again, but I've carried that short friendly interaction close to my heart for all these years. Still riding New England at age 70. Six bikes in the barn😊
Yeah always good to atleast keep a 20 put up at all times, 100 be better but 20 will get you out of most jams. Just cause card readers do go out especially in these small towns.
Your & Auny's dual journey is a great example how couples with different but very complementary ADV preferences can be accomplished together, with a celebration to unwind with, at the end of each day.

I saw a huge black bear on that Dillon town rd when I did the NEBDR a couple years ago. First time seeing a bear in the wild, I stopped, I looked at him, he looked at me, he was 10 yards away and decided I was too scary and wondered off. Really cool
I knew a guy many years ago that carried bear spray instead of a large caliber gun. As the bear charged him he grabbed the spray on his belt and sprayed. Problem was the wind was blowing towards him and the bear spray went in his face instead of the bears. But fortunately all his screaming and yelling scared the poor bear and it ran off. Yeah. I have been turned away because of my lack of cash a few times. It’s my fault. I gave my cash away to someone and didn’t have it that day. I don’t take this stuff very seriously. Just having fun

@@MotoMission.yep, there’s a lot of rural spots all over America that surprisingly aren’t connected to the internet, so you have to carry money just like in the olden days…you know, the eighties. Some places might actually refuse to serve you because you’re on a motorbike - they’ve heard of ‘The Wild Ones’…haha!
I usually keep cash. I travel 200 days a year. But sometimes I forget to top off my cash. Have learned to not stress about it. Just have fun and let the adventure take you. Let’s ride
Adventure riders are becoming a trespassing problem. The Polaris Ride app. directs people onto private property. I’ve seen it many of times on my property, friends and neighbors property also. You’re probably the 100th person he dealt with, and I’m sure he’s very annoyed. Plus, many of these riders litter! People pay a lot of money on the land, plus insurance and taxes, and adventure riders on motorcycles and Avt/Utvs act like it’s free land. It’s like buying a new vehicle, and allowing the public to drive it!
We double checked. It’s a public road. And it’s paved. He was just having a bad day. I find that adv riders are the best and most respectful. But all it takes is one to mess it up for everyone
I mean extremely weird on you not carrying a CC out on travels... Not everywhere accepts touch from the phone and what if your phone is dead? Risky bro,,,
Obviously a southerner heading north in mid fall and bringing worn out summer gloves, lol! You know they do sell gloves in the north, right??? You didnt need to send overnight from Georgia, Walmart has insulated work gloves for less than $20 that keep me warm riding in the 20's. Quick tip for chosing insulated gloves, squeeze the tips of every finger to make sure the insulation covers the entire tip. The insulation tends to creep back before they sew the materials together, leaving the tips uninsulated. I've found that most high end expensive gloves are the worst when it comes to this minor but very important detail.
Yeah. I needed someone to coach me thru this one. I made plenty of mistakes. I either over dressed or under dressed most days. But ya know what ? I had a blast. Next time you ride w me
You were not refused service. That is your headline to get views. Stating that "You failed to prepare and visited a cash only place" would not get you as many clicks. We get it son. And that place that was more than happy to serve you, but like the Eagles song says- Doctor say he coming, but you gotta pay in cash. That's.... Life in the Fast Lane. Blowin' and burnin', blinded by thirst They didn't see the stop sign, took a turn for the worst She said, "Listen, baby, you can hear the engine ring" "We've been up and down this highway, haven't seen a goddamn thing" He said, "Call the doctor, I think I'm gonna crash" *The doctor say he's comin', but you gotta pay in cash* They went rushin' down that freeway, messed around and got lost They didn't care, they were just dyin' to get off and it was surely make you lose your mind (Life in the fast lane) uh-huh (Life in the fast lane) everything all the time (Life in the fast lane) uh-huh
@@MotoMission. Hmmm. Refreshing honesty. Subscribed. I rode also- 20 years- no accidents (more lucky than good.) I have been to many off the beaten path joints like that. They are gems. Locals take pride in their pies and things! One is up in Lake George, NY. Since you were in NY you must know all about it- probably have been.... for the annual Americade event every June. Good times. I sold my bike but will still drive up. Be careful on the toad these days. I have seen a lot of stuff. Many good times but you have to grow eyes in the back of your head. If you like dual-sport riding, like my screenname suggests, nothing beats MOAB, UT. Check it out sometime.
@@MotoMission. Cool. Do make it out to Chicken Corners and do a tour of Hells Revenge. Fun to rent a UTV. Moab Tour Co. is a great outfit. Element Moab is a good hotel and Gilibertos is a great Mexican spot- and they take CASH! The Kane Creek TRAIL, left on the way out to Hurrah Pass/Chk. Corners is a really nice trail. I would do at least the first 20 minutes. When it starts to get tricky, you can turn back unless you are up for a very challenging adventure. I completed the whole thing- once was enough. The first section is really cool and fun- deep in this lush valley. Long Canyon is another MUST DO. I would ride it UP to, and come DOWN The Shafer Trail...and swing out to The White Rim traiI, at least to the first cool arch called Muscleman.
Your title is very click bait. How do you NOT have cash on you considering your going out riding and doing BDR route. Clearly you also did not actually think about the weather in the fall. Especially being in the northeast.
you weren't refused service, you didn't have appropriate tender to conduct business in that particular establishment, big difference....especially when she pointed you to an atm across the street. you not having cash or an atm card is all on you pal. not a fan of hype titles that mislead.
You go into a store and have NO MEANS TO PAY ? No Cash , No Debit card ? How did you buy gas just after that ? What is wrong with you ?? Did you think she was giving away free pies ?? @@MotoMission.yep, there’s a lot of rural spots all over America that surprisingly aren’t connected to the internet, so you have to carry money just like in the olden days…you know, the eighties. Some places might actually refuse to serve you because you’re on a motorbike - they’ve heard of ‘The Wild Ones’…haha!
I usually keep cash. I travel 200 days a year. But sometimes I forget to top off my cash. Have learned to not stress about it. Just have fun and let the adventure take you.
Let’s ride
A driving video
?
Ain’t no way you only had $20 petty cash…don’t even watch the video yall 😩
I had none. Total fail
Never been on a dirt road? A city boy?
First time
Gee , no cash or atm card, must be a city bot
Amateur.
Why couldn't you use your debt card at the atm to get some cash? You said you didn't have an atm card what is that anyway? I have credit and debit
I don’t have a debit card. I probably had one but never knew the password. :)
Wow... Someone actually asked for a cash tip for helping you? I don't consider that as a "tip".... it's more of a service fee.
I was surprised someone wanted a 'tip' for helping...I'm sure they pay up whenever they need help.
Yeah. Gave away my cash that day.
The road life is certainly unpredictable
I mean extremely weird on you not carrying a CC out on travels... Not everywhere accepts touch from the phone and what if your phone is dead? Risky bro,,,
I brought it. But my cash was gone.
Things happen
Risky. I like risky. Haha
New gloves wont work , need WINTER HANDS inserts
I should try that. Will they keep fingers warm ?
No cash on the road??? WTF dude?..
Amateur
Someday I will figure this road thing out.
No too smart going on a BDR ride with no cash and no ATM card.
Amateur
Click bait Title.....
Misleading
My bad
Next time you ride w me
It sounds like a "You" problem. Learn to plan ahead and stop expecting everyone to kiss your ass.
Correct. It is as you say. I am broken at the core. We will not disagree on this one. I need redemption
Blowin' and burnin', blinded by thirst
They didn't see the stop sign, took a turn for the worst
She said, "Listen, baby, you can hear the engine ring"
"We've been up and down this highway, haven't seen a goddamn thing"
He said, "Call the doctor, I think I'm gonna crash"
*The doctor say he's comin', but you gotta pay in cash*
They went rushin' down that freeway, messed around and got lost
They didn't care, they were just dyin' to get off and it was
surely make you lose your mind
(Life in the fast lane) uh-huh
(Life in the fast lane) everything all the time
(Life in the fast lane) uh-huh
That’s very true. Thanks for watching.
Thanks. Moab is a favorite. We have some trips there that will be coming to the channel soon.
You are gonna like some upcoming videos.
Your title is very click bait. How do you NOT have cash on you considering your going out riding and doing BDR route. Clearly you also did not actually think about the weather in the fall. Especially being in the northeast.
Amateur. Hopeless amateur. :)
you weren't refused service, you didn't have appropriate tender to conduct business in that particular establishment, big difference....especially when she pointed you to an atm across the street. you not having cash or an atm card is all on you pal.
not a fan of hype titles that mislead.
That’s true.
You go into a store and have NO MEANS TO PAY ?
No Cash , No Debit card ?
How did you buy gas just after that ?
What is wrong with you ??
Did you think she was giving away free pies ??
That was ignorant to go into her store with no means to pay for goods/services.
I STOPPED watching right there due your level of Ignorance on how Society Functions. No wonder you've got into altercations with land owners. You seem to think your special I guess
Seriously.
That’s probably best.
Click bait.
Thanks for watching.
dude you are on a motorcycle trip with no cash how rude can you get? Get a hair cut and a shave by the way you will look better
I tried to get a haircut. But I didn’t have cash
@@MotoMission. I understand the self sacrafice in motorcycling they are prohibitively expensive
Why do you care so much what the dude looks like? What does that have to with motorcycles, riding, and the NEBdr? By the way, punctuate much? You know, commas, periods?
😂@@MotoMission.
@MotoMission. Don't listen to the haters man there jealous cause your growing your you tube channel and there jealous. Ignorance is bliss and you can't fix stupid
Years ago in calif, my buddy wanted to stop at pizza hut in Newark. I know, nothing good at pizza hut, but he was from mid west. They flat refused us service as soon as we walked in.
We left " Fu@k You" burned into their parking lot with back tires.
Never been to a pizza hut since
Whaaaa
