Out of 12 rear camera install videos that I've watched, this one is by far the most informative and easiest to follow. Really good job.
This was incredibly helpful and thorough while also not being ridiculously long. Good work and great editing.
Yes good job. : ) You can however put wire from mirror, under the weather strip without taking car apart. When you get to fuse box
level, you can get a piggy-back connector to use on back of any fuse. This allows you to connect live and negative will fit under nearby nut.
Keeps it neat and tidy, takes less time as well.
*@**10:26* If you ever drop a *_metal_* fastener inside a dual-layered panel- you can usually drag it back with a strong magnet- held against the inside (or outside) panel. Use a thin cloth to protect paint!
+HUBBABUBBA DOOPYDOOP Unfortunately, I did drop a fastener in that panel once. It took 3 long hours and various magnets but after a lot of trial and error, I finally managed to catch it in a favorable spot where I could fish it out with my finger. Never again... ever since then, I'm always extremely cautious working around similar areas and always advise others of the potential headache. Thanks for watching!
+everythingdiy hi I Will like to Know where did you buy your dash cam

wow
Love how detailed you were! That's why you are succeeding, new sub here!
This was a *fantastic* video- of a fantastic device! I especially like the "clip over existing mirror" and the *TOP mounted* power and RVC connections! Thank you so much!
Crazy how easy you make it seem. Awesome job!! I love how you explained it step by step with detail.
You do a better job than most stereo shops I been too! Lol
Wow! I literally went downstairs and did the exact same thing to my 02 santa fe! Worked wonders! Thanks a ton everythingdiy!
This is SERIOUS Talk! - I just won a $2k lawsuit for a driver who hit me claiming that it was my fault! - The cam Told the true Story! - Case Closed! :-)
Only $2,000?
MrCapeCanaveral I agree my accident was $2000. Lol
Really easy to adapt this to the rear view install for my veloster. The rubber tube getting to the spoiler is as hard as you described. Thanks for the video. It was super informative.
Excellent video! Great job showing that with a little patience a person can do a professional install (with the help of youtube) successfully. You rock woman! The only thing I would have done differently would have been to eliminate the adapter. Though it might have complicated it for some of your viewers. No doubt in my mind you had the expertise. Again, well done and Thanks for sharing!
Super cool. I've not seen these yet. Also, I hope my daughter is as handy with a car when she is older. Kudos on your channel.
WOW!!! This is my kind of woman. Well done.
This video has made me a fan of your channel!!! Great video!! Thanks!!
by far the best video to DYI! thank you
Wow. I can't believe I couldn't figure out how to attach the front camera, lol. I probably should stay away from the back camera. Thank you so much for your video!
Awesome video. Honesty I did not know there was any such thing as HD Dash Cams...pretty ingenious idea!
She is cute and into working on cars. Awesome.
Hey wifey us back at it again, lol love her mannerism
Awesome tutorial! One thing I would add is that if the video feed is going to a head unit (unlike in this video) don't wire camera power to the reverse lights. The camera should be on whenever the car is on. The head unit should be wired to know when the car is in reverse and switch to the video feed. The advantage to doing it this way is that you can use the camera even when you aren't in reverse, for example to keep an eye on a trailer.
Great video! Been looking at getting a dash cam for my speed3. That one looks great, which is it?
Great work... Super passionate work is done by you...
Very helpful and easy to follow. Thank you!
Great step by step process! I'll let you know how it comes out.
I think she had some technical advice off cam but she did good hands on job i'm impressed well done
Great! Next time you are at a junk yard look for a car with an OEM electric type mirror, auto dim, compass, etc and grab the plastic channel that clips to the windshield mount, and that runs up to the headliner. Great way to conceal and tidy up the wires.
You have such a clear camera recording which one are you using is some one recording you and zooming in while you move or is it automatic while you move ?
Great technical info! Thanks for sharing.
Nice work! Not a bad idea at all. Love your tutorials on the ms3.
I recently installed a rearview dashcam in my car following your instructions. Your instruction was very helpful. Thank you. I have, however, one problem. The LCD screen is almost un-viewable in bright sunlight. Do you have any solution for that?
Hello. Excellent video. I have a question, was necessary to disconnect the battery of the car to do all the connections?
Thank you for your answer. Regards.
Nice work, I wanted to get a mirror like that one for my Mazda.Just to use it as a front camera display for the front bumper to avoid parking too close to those concrete bumps.
Coming from a mazda 3 owner, thank you!
Thank you for the very clear explanation video. I'd like to know where to find the cable splitter you used to join the cable to power? Is it sold in Home Depot?
great video, but your spoiler's a bit loose at the end! I would like your dash cam, but I have a gen 1 with the optional premium mirror. Any recommendation for those?
your pretty awesome at this. Much props. : - ) Understood everything. Awesome Tut video
Hi, I watch your videos whenever i need help. Jus have one question. Can i give power to my rearview monitor from the Fuse box with help of fuse adaptors?
you are the best...... thanks for your demonstration it's really helped
I have a very similar model. My question is, to which rear lamp should I connect the cable from the rear camera of the trunk? To the stop light, to the reverse light or to the rear driving light?
You go girl ,your a handy little thing
Your Amazing! I just bought one installed it ok but wondering how to go about the reversing cam I was scratching my head before I watched this, Well done.
MS3 with an AP mounted. I'm subscribed!
Great video i have a similar system & the manual was useless. Very helpful, but what did you do with the Black wire for rear cam??
I jus bought the same dashcam how do I change to language from I guess Chinese to English can you help thx carlos
Great video. Very good job. Thank you.
This is neat! Won't it easily drain the car battery since it's auto recording when the dashcam sensed something?
Awesome vid does the female connection need to be fused like 5amp thanks
One thing l have not mentioned,is that most times if you install where this is being installed, the aerial control
box is often at the hatch window. This can and does interfier with the dash cam.
Definitely one of your more challenging videos. How long did it take?
In your latest dash cam video you now have the thinkware type which seems far superior. So can you say what went wrong with this duel view one ? I ask because I was going to buy a cheap one. Thanks
Great, I'm just planning to do this as well. Thank you.
You are real technician master! ;-)
can you post some examples of the reverse cam at night in the driveway or parking lot? and show some examples of the motion detect. I purchased a Zedge that was showing the same specs and it's basically just useful during the day...motion detect and parking protection did not function at all. They took it back, however I don't recommend the Zedge.
Good work, this realy help to do fancy things to my Mazda 3
i didn't remember her mentioning where she hook the black wire from the camera to? I was wondering if it's possible that the black wire from the camera be hooked up to the reverse ground wire since there's two wires (positive and negative) running to the reverse light
Oh I am defiantly NOT opening up my car like that to put the wire in! I think I could screw up my car. Glad that you have the expertise to do such a thing. I'm leasing a car so it has to go back to the Dealer in the same condition as I got it. But Thanks for your video. It was very good.
my car already have back camera and sensors for reverse, if I ONLY want the back camera to record while driving do I still need the power supply conection?
I have exactly the same dash camera as you.
thank you.
Couldn't you use power from the fusebox instead of splicing a cable? Great video btw!
+Luca Car Mods You can yes, but it's not easy. There are no empty spaces in our fuse box with a power connection. We would have to pull the entire box out the car and create a new connection or tap into an existing connection. It's easier to just tap/splice straight into the lighter wire since we know it can supply a safe and reliable current without affecting any other system. Also, since a splice is a parallel circuit we know it won't adversely affected our existing lighter socket if we wanted to use it for an additional device. Thanks for watching!
Great video but I noticed a potential problem. Wouldn't splicing directly into the reverse wiring alter the resistance thus affect the canbus or bulb monitoring systems?
+Jim Wilson The reverse lights are not monitored, so there shouldn't be any affected systems. The only item that maybe affected is the bulb itself. If the draw on the spliced wire is too high it can negatively affect the output of the bulb or even render it inoperable. The wire that we spliced into will neither draw a significant amount of power nor create a large enough resistance to cause any problems. It's about as low of a draw as you can possible have; It merely connects to a simple switch that looks for a 12 volt current to change a parameter for the backup camera function. It's not a power supplying wire- If we were to splice into our power wire for the device, then it would be possible that our bulb may start flickering or producing dimmer light. Hopefully that made sense... Thanks for watching!
Damn that's some work girl!!
First time seeing your vid. Great one !! Thanks. I dunno if I can do it myself but I've been wanting the rearview camera. Currently have just front recording camera. And even I drive the same car. Love my speedy mazda 3 Manuel transmission. It just needs this new toy installed.
Thank you, your detail has meant I feel confident to attempt this and will save myself the 350 dollars professional instillation quote I got today!
Question, at 5:03 you said to hook it up to a wire that "only has power when the car is on", if that is so; how does the camera work to record a collision when your car is off? Especially since this camera has the motion senor feature you talked about at the beginning. Or was that a mistake in words? Doesn't the cigarette lighter wire always have power even when the vehicle is off? Im just curious so i know how to hook mine up.
does the backup camera covers a wider area when reverse gear is on than.the backup camera records normally when we are moving forward?
For the rear cam, you could have feed a wire from top to bottom, and use it to fish your connector UP.
Any update on how this camera system is working? Still satisfied with it? Would you do anything differently?
BTW, have a link to the product you used? I'm researching this for my Speed.
Furthermore, I have a 13 Mazda 3 sedan, I am going to buy a rear view camera kit , can u tell me how to mount the camera above the license plate and how wiring between rear bumper through the trunk? Thank u so much!
What brand is that? Video on that looks much better than other generic dashcams.
Hi
I have the 2013 Altima that comes with an existing backup camera. However, I would like to add a front DVR and a continuously recording camera on the back that stays recording when I'm in the drive position. Is there a way to have that install and working?
does this work in night?will it be able to see in the dark when my car is park in the parking lot?does the dash cam keep recording when the car is off?yes my lights will be on while driving though.
You mentioned that there was a red and white wire connecting to the reverse lights, how will I know which wire to splice?
great video! whats the device mounted to the left of the dash (that looks like an mp3 player)?
also as a suggestion you should of placed in-line fuses for each power wire connection
+xcmskim4 That device is an Access Port V3, it tunes our car for better performance.
As for your suggestion, there is only one power wire and you don't need to add an inline fuse because the fuse is already inside the cigarette lighter adapter provided by the dash cam. The other wire that was spliced is a simple trigger for a switch in the dash cam so it does not require a fuse. Thanks for watching!
This aftermarket rear view mirror still have the manual dimming function?
i showed your vid to my dad \m/ coz i think your vid's the easiest to install this dual dash cam :D
Very good job 👍
The idea of a dash cam seems pretty good, nonetheless, may I ask whats the size of the display? In your opinion, is it big enough to see when you go in reverse? Thanks for the video btw.
+Omrtbsh Absolutely, it's big enough for me. I've grown very use to having this backup camera now, I can now park really close to objects without even glancing backwards or getting out of the car to check if I have more room. It's definitely my favorite part about having this device. Thanks for watching!
Great video! What brand did you buy? There aren't a whole lot of reliable looking brands out there that do everything that yours does. Thanks!
omg you're new thumbnail pic freaking gorgeous.
very intresting and good explanation
Is there any 2ch dash cam better than the f770 ? I am looking to use it for uber taxi driving and want to mount the rear camera inside at the front to record passengers inside as well as outside conditions. Please help?
good job! how good it is to see a young lady like yourself having the knowledge and no how to do this without depending on a guy. You are a good example for a lot of women to follow. Good Job!
Would you please create a video for how to install 2014 - 2016 Mazda 3 MZD connect screen on Baseline model
After you splice the wire, is the cigarette lighter still able to operate? I need it for my radar unit?
cheryls5636 as long as the radar detector doesn't run too much power you are fine. Being right there, I would have run the power cable to the ignition harness under the steering column and added a fuse.
does the rear camera records also or only when in reverse cause i see u only hooked it up to the reverse lights????????????
You think you could use the wiring to your ON STAR?
This would be great if I had the same car! Nothing about the camera recording process or night time or where to find it. Seeing it's 2015! Am sure there's 20 new kinds to buy.
@everythingdiy do you have a direct link to the exact mirror you're using in this video?
Very impressed! I am subscribing :)
I'm just wondering about, being outside, how quickly that rear view camera will get dirty.
Does the backup camera have a lights on it? How does it show in the dark?
Good job girl! You deserve to get a thousand like. I can see all the hard work you put out in this video, very informative. Wish I can do that. Can I pay you to help me install it? Jk. Do you know how much it cost to have some one install ?
It's been over a year since you posted this video, do you still use the this dual dash cam and if so can you provide any follow up info, likes/dislikes?
Kali Tube I’m drunk!!!!!!!!
What's the brand name and specs of the dash cam you used in the vid? I need one asap.
JF997 OUMAX Dual Lens Car Camera
Very good job
Thank you so much for a lot of the good tips! I was able to install my own back up camera after intense research and your video was one of the most helpful ones! I'm just wondering if I did something wrong when I connect my "red wire" to the 12V power because when I put my car on reverse, the back up guidance doesn't come on. My camera is currently on dual recording mode, which records the front and back at all times. I just don't get why when I put my car on reverse, the guidance thing doesn't kick in like yours would. :(
Michelle so glad the video was helpful! When you connected the red wire did you connect it to the wire that shows a positive 12 volt current when the reverse light is on?
No! I have trouble using the multimeter! T.T I will keep trying tho!!!
Hey there, i have a problem, the back camera is showing me the other way round... ( the thing from right on the display are in the left ) what can i do ???
What brand of dash cam/backup camera did you go with?
omg i need u to come n do that to my car! i just got mine today! :D
Hey, first off all great quality to watch! steady camera work and alot of fun because a girl that looks so pretty does install it like a everyday task for her, Awesome keep up the work!
i have a question. my car has a continous cigarette lighter so how could i install this since it will drain my battery i guess if i dont unplug it. Also i see when you go into reverse you see a backup camera, but how did u manage to use your rear view camera as a dashcam to in the example video?
