I have a 2009 one of these. Manual 5 door in black and I love it. I have it since early Feb 2013 now and it has 220,000kms on it but still going like a bastard. Those oil filter housings are always a bugger to open off. I used a plumbing wrench to get mine off last time. In my 11+ years, I have noticed that these engines seem to burn oil a bit. Mine had 72,000kms on it when I bought it and it never got any worse or better but I know of a few more people that had them and they had the same except 1 (weirdly enough). Does this car use up any oil between changes? Be interesting to know. Cheers for the videos. Going through them right now.
Thanks for watching! I'm really appreciative of it! Like all turbo cars they will burn some oil, and yes mine does to! I wouldn't let it worry you, as long as its not excessive and you stay on top of your maintenance and levels you should be great!
Yes! It was the pcv valve, mine actually just needed pushing further on, but they are very common to break as they become brittle, but fortunately they are a cheap and easy fix
Great progress. Nice
Thanks, I like to think so!
Another great video, pleased to see it's passed the MOT. I love a mk5 GTi ❤ 👍
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks mate. I think I love a mk5 too now!
Another great vid Mikey! Lets give it the Dachs treatment down at CGR HQ 👊🏽
With pleasure the GTI deserves the best!
So happy to see Penny again!! It's the only reason I watch nowadays 😂😂😂
Well she is the star! What about poor pablo?
Ha! Well, seeing him and Rosie eat the ice cream at the Flitwick show was just toooooo cute ❤❤
Great work as always! Gotta be happy with the bargain repair 😎
You got that right!
Great work. Couldn’t believe that spring didn’t do any damage

Great tip! 5w40 might make them a little less noisy too?

Mad to think you’ve got a road worthy Golf GTI for under £800!
Its crazy! I'm so chuffed with it!
Did you find out what the squealing/air escaping noise was? Mine makes the same noise…

PS71s are decent daily tyres IMO
To be fair I'm happy with them, just take a little while to warm up!
This is going very well so far! Those parts look like they were supplied by someone very experienced and helpful 😅😂
Don't forget handsome too!
That spring!
I know! Absolute state of it!
Glad you fixed it! Wonder what’s going to go wrong next? 🤔
Hopefully nothing! But who knows! What do you think will go wrong??
@@usuallybrokencars hmmm… well high mileage golfs are susceptible to oil pressure problems, so keep an eye out for that.
@user-gu6fg3ty4m ahhh good to know thank you!
The background music is annoying.......like being in an elevator in a posh Hotel.
Duly noted, any particular moment so I can look at what song I used??
Where’s the JOMs bro?
Haha what are joms????
