I also like the aspect ratio on the inner display a bit more. Can't say I'm a huge fan of the bezels though, but it's worth it so it fold up flat imo. Hopefully they'll be able to slim down those "external" bezels by half in the next versions, for more screen. If there ever will be a next version, I mean it's google were talking about lmao.
Don’t do it, I work at a phone repair company and we see more pixels for the dumbest reasons. Prepare for the glass over your cameras to shatter and the screen to randomly go black without you dropping it.
Get the fold 5 that comes out aug.11th bc it's way better I had iphone for 8 years. I'm so glad I switched to a company that innovates like it should. It van be difficult at first bc u have 2 apps for pics and what not but you'll get used to it and just use all the same apps.. like either all Google apps on the Samsung phone or all the Samsung photos or whatnot.. you'll get the hang

@@Fee.1 no, you either get 12MP binned photos where 4 pixels (on the sensor) get combined into one, or you get straight 48MP (mostly enabled via some Pro Mode or RAW). With the Pixels, the binning is happening in the ISP as far as I understood. And I think it's actually the only 48MP on the market doing that. Was really annoyed by this with my Pixel 7 Pro too, since pixel binning is unnecessary when you have good lighting conditions.
The Google fold is really nice but I'm going to wait until further Generations. I have the fold 2 and I like it I need the fold 5 to have a Spen already installed.

How much are they paying these guys to say the inside bezels arent that bad lol? They are absolutely horrible and have no place on a 2023 device especially one that costs $1800.
These bezels are a blessing. I have no idea why, but companies always decide to release edge-to-edge bullshit on their displays that really isnt worth the headache that happens when you (and this happens all the time) touch something on the edges accidentally. So infuriating! (And why I stayed with the good old pixel 7)
Pixel Phones need the "passcode to turn off device" feature. If the Pixel Phones get lost or stolen, people can simply just hold the power button and volume button then clip power off. Unlike Samsung, it requires your password to be able to turn off the device, making it harder to get lost or stolen.

What they are saying is you can't turn the phone off without a password. This makes it harder to steal becuase you can still use the find my android feature. If someone can turn your phone off you can't locate it.
Nah the main reason is there's more real estate on the board to spread everything out instead of consolidating all the hardware in a thicker smaller phone layout. The foldables are basically just phablets

Been using Samsung fold 2 for 2 yrs i had no issues but as the warranty period finished I got an update from Samsung and after that the outer display was blank. It would sometimes come back but finally stopped working altogether. So i was using the inner screen for few weeks and then another update came. I thought this might fix the previous bug but it instead took the sound. The speakers wont work. So I went to Samsung service station and they charged me 1000 usd. So i looked up online and found out that its very common issues with all the fold phones. I’m never buying anything from anyone now. I will buy those oldies nokia phone with buttons for calling. Fck this gimmick era of valueless smartphones. And for camera i am using sony mirrorless alpha 7. For gaming i have custom built pc and i am thinking of buying a nintendo or something. But no smartphones for me

Correct ratio. But not suitable for daily use. Why? I've been using Fold 3 and Fold 4 in daily business and leisure. Current vertical ratio just right for our hands n fingers. Rotate it to landscape mode when you plan for video viewing.
I take issue with you saying it doesn't feel like a first gen product, In fact, I take issue with this entire video. The proportions of the pixel are not like a normal phone when it is folded closed unlike all of the Samsung fold models so the Samsung folds feel more like a normal candy bar phone than the pixel.

It's nice that it's slim and folds with no gap, but other than that it's a bit ugly. Short and stubby with enormous bezzles on the main screen that make it look dated.

@@Fee.1the 48MP can't be used directly, they are binned down to 12MP hardware-side. It's like that on all Pixel phones.
