Yes this is why im going with the fold 6 this year. I was looking at the pixel fold because it has a better camera but the trade in value of my fold 5 only 750. Way too low. Samsung spoils us sometimes 😂😂😂

That is truly your opinion, whereas there are those of us that truly do not like Samsung's overdone UI battery life sucks on Samsung's as well. But like I said. It's all about what you prefer and if Samsung's your thing then great. Not for me
I will go with the fold 6 over pixel 9 fold. Have both and software on the pixel is very limited and can stand Google for making the search bar permeant and also with the pixel glance. We should be to remove it. So I am returning it I know you can add a launcher but should not have to for the money you pay.
I've been rocking a Zfold 3 for about 2 or 3 years now and I've been looking for a change of pace. The problem I have with the pixel fold is it doesn't support a stylus use, didn't think it was a deal breaker but I realized I use it a lot on my zfold 3. Not to mention, the pixel fold's software isn't up to par with Samsung's as you mentioned in the video.
That is an important aspect I wasn't aware of. The stylus. Thank you for mentioning that. If the google doesn't do that? Ugh...I plan on utilizing a stylus big time. Maybe @markstech can go over that in an updated review? Gotta say I do like the AI aspect on the google for the pics, that was cool...but no stylus? that would be a deal breaker for me.
Having owned both devices, I would definitely say if you're looking for the future of devices, the Google pixel fold is definitely the device to go with or the Google pixel 9 pro fold rather. If you're looking for the PowerHouse of devices, the z fold 6 is the way to go. However, I found the Google pixel 9 pro fold does not shy away from gaming and other tasks. Having owned both devices, I have to give it to the Google pixel 9 pro fold
I traded my iphone 14 pro max for the blue unlocked version of the fold 6 1tb of storage. With the trade plus my first responder credit the fold 6 1tb came out $789 for 24 months

Hey. Just a correction for your video. The Z Fold6 is 12.1mm thin and 5.6mm thin while unfolded. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is 10.5mm thin and 5.1mm thin while unfolded.

My Z fold 6 1TB Navy has been amazing so far. There are a couple of issues that are not make or break to me: Wifi6E for a top end smartphone in 2024 is really not great. It gets1800mbps up and down connected to my home router: setup is 2 x Asus GT-BE98 Pro WiFi 7 in mesh with 10gbe backhaul connected to 3gbe up and down internet speed.
Second is the stock Samsung case with the pen stored on the outside is falling apart. The adhesive for the left that houses the outer screen is almost off and is useless now.
I also have a Pixel 9 Fold 512GB Obsidian on pre-order. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
I like both devices, the only reason why I went with the fold 6 is because is water and dust resistant. Since I work outdoors I like to have that peace of mind to have the cellphone with me all the time
Honor is superior on hardware and Samsung superior on software and ecosystem like Samsung TV and gaming. Google did well with the front screen but they lack stylus support which for me it's tough for me to omit
I'd note that the call filter feature is unique on the Pixels. It would automatically bounce spam calls before you even notice and you have the option to allow google assistant to answer the phone for you and speak while it transcribes what they're saying. It also shows the full name of everyone that calls. I had a Pixel 7 pro and thats something very useful that I miss on my Fold 6. Samsung doesn't have a call filter feature anything like that which is why I might switch to a Pixel Fold pro because i get loads of spam calls and the Pixel was perfect for that, other than that the Fold 6 has been great as my first foldable phone.

I have the Z Fold 6 and Oneplus Open. The Z Fold 6 is a good phone but needs to get bigger on the outside, better camera, and have faster charging speed. It does come with great deals. Don't sleep on the Oneplus Open. It gives both of these phones a run for the money and some cases better, and it's a year old. Compare both of these phones to the Oneplus One. The Oneplus 2 will beat both of them when it comes out.
So after further review the Samsung Fold has cameras that are way way lacking, compared to the outstanding cameras on the Ultra. So as much as I would love a Fold phone, Ill have to wait till Samsung does better on the camera side.
Sorry Google but, I just cannot deal with your interface OS... NTM cant use a stylus another deal breaker for me.

Pixel 9 fold all the way, I don't even use my fold anymore! I just wished better battery, charging speeds and bigger storage 1tb 8n the future hopefully! I do love how samsung takes the proce of the trade off beforehand unlike google! Samsung do better and make your screens wider, you are letting the competition catch up now!
I'm a lefty and I like the extra bezel from the hinge on the left side of the pixel. I've been using Samsung phones for the last 8 years and I'm getting fed up with all the accidental inputs

I like them both never owned a fold phone and can’t decide. I like the Samsungs look but not the narrow screen on front. I like the Pixels front screen better but I also like some of the features on the ZFold like having two different home screens one on outer screen and one on inside screen. I’m going to be using this phone for atleast 2 years before upgrading again so don’t want to make the wrong choice.

Pixel fold. As much as you will use. The foldable screen 75% of your phone use will still be on the front display. 22:9 aspect ratio is an absolute No-No for me, it just has zero practical application for basically anything in my opinion.
No the Samsung isnt dust proofed. Gemini is not costfree already.

I really don't like the long, skinny aspect ratio of the Samsung.
Samsung foldables has been stagnant.. Pixel experience is just more fun and enjoyable with woofer front screen and software goodies

I bought it because it’s glorious to behold and I wanted a bigger, more usable screen on a lighter phone (upgrading from a pixel fold original).

Would love to see an in depth comparison of all 3 in terms of Hinge Quality, performance, battery life, camera, and multi-tasking. Am a power-user and I’ve been wanting to buy a foldable for some time now because of the multi-tasking features but I’m super skeptical of the previously mentioned categories because it just feels wiser to use something like the s24 Ultra without having to compromise on build quality (hinges), camera reliability, software bs, battery life or performance… Would be great to multitask more but that means nothing if am paying more $ for a compromise in any one of those areas.
Great review. However Android 15 and the new Pixel UI are likely to add to the Pixel multitasking capabilities, improvements to battery efficiency and Cameras. Be good to revisit this comparison when Pixel UI and One UI are updated.
I personally LOVE LOVE LOVE my S20 Utlra and I prefer the more rounded look. I am in the market for a fold phone since I do IT for healthcare and my phone is just not big enough for these old eyes LOL...I like the roundness of the Google from back but that front? Yeah I agree it looks way weird. I also despise the google OS, even tho at work we are all google workspace.... hubby has a pixel and just working it? blech....Samsung just kicks butt in the interface aspect.
I like the google fold but the refinement of the fold 6 is good especially software. I wish google kept their form factor from thr first fold but slimmed down...google will slim the bezels in time but i would stick with samsung fold due to them pioneering the fold space just my opinion. Btw love both phones
See everyone in the comments is so one sided to this when it's not that simple. The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is for people who want a premium compacted foldable phone, while the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is for people who want a foldable phone but don't care about the premium features and about being the most compacted. The Snapdragon may be far more powerful in raw performance but that doesn't tell the whole store, pound for pound the Tensor is far superior when it comes to AI compared to the Snapdragon. The Tensor was built for AI and optimized for it along with Google's software. When comes to multitasking and gaming the Snapdragon is going to kill the Tensor everytime. It's not about being the everything foldable phone, if you want almost everything go Samsung, if you want a foldable with light software and runs great for day to day use get the Pixel. I currently have a Z Fold 3 but am upgrading to the Pixel, I love the Galaxy but I want a bigger inner and outer display, which the Pixel has, and not only that I want to try Google's mostly stock light Android software. My Z Fold 3 hasn't slowed down on me once but I've seen the Z Fold 6 and honestly it's not worth upgrade, unless you want the 7 years of OS updates. I would go back to Galaxy if Samsung made a foldable with a bigger battery, bigger inner and outer display, and that's really it as the Z Fold 6 is basically the perfect foldable.
I had samsung fold 5 but ended change to oppo find n3 because of the cover screen and durability issues within 2 weeks of use. Used oppo for half a year but changed to s24 ultra due to durability and software issues. I guess Pixel 9 fold will have a balance of good software & hardware. Not to mention, you'll get updates the quickest.

What I love the most about my new 9 pro fold is how its pure android. One thing I couldn't stand about galaxy phones is all the crap they put on them. bixby is the worst. Also getting updates weeks after pixel phones always bothered me. Phone is so amazing to hold in your hand when its open. Like a high quality nice tablet you put in your pocket. And its amazing how fast it is. Scrolling web pages loading photos from google photos just instant. I got it from the google store, 350 in store credit plus 121 in store credit and then 699 trade in for my 8 pro plus. Now I can get the pixel 3 watch for free and the new pixel buds pro 2.
I got a fold 9 pro I got it for $900 that's the 500gb got 10% a credit and phone trade.. fold is good but to narrow... But Samsung got more customization

Easy one, still nothing can beat the Samsung on Folds. Some like larger front display and that is matter of taste but their Ui is just damn solid for folds. :) Solid update on pixel tho for last year so they are getting there.:)

Are apps more optimized for this model compared to last years? Also how are the speakers? I tried the first google fold but it had too many problems. The speakers were terrible. I’m interested in knowing if those issues have been resolved in this model. This one seems much better.

Who cares about 1hz? Battery on the Pixel is far better than the Galaxy by far. I have both and the Samsung just isnt better. Literally NO ONE likes the narrow phone more. Also the narrow phone is BROKEN. Dont think I'll pick up the Z Fold again.

I prefer the narrow screen and the fact that z fold is significantly lighter and doesn't have all the bezel around it like pixel 9 pro fold has.

Really can't disagree with this more. If you don't care about software then other foldables might be better. It's just a simple fact. If you're a power user, Samsung software is far superior. Pixel is literally just the slab software on the big phone. No optimizations for multi-window. Very poor use of the larger screen space. Very few productivity features. If all you care about is watching Netflix on a folding phone, then it's fine. If you're trying to get work done, it's Samsung and nobody else. OnePlus is close and perhaps next year with the OnePlus Open 2 they can catch up to Samsung. I had the OnePlus for a while but very strange bugs throughout the OS.

having no cut out camera is not a flex when the under display camera is only 4mp 😏. It's pretty much useless. I use my inner display camera all the time on my pixel fold
Pixel is by far the best, the cover screen is amazing, dnt care about the ltpo cos the battery is amazing. Had the zfold 5 and i could not use the cover screen as it was too thin. Not the same on the pixel fold, the cover screen is 6.3 phone with a proper aspect ratio. The execution for the pixel fold for me is perfect,google just needs to build on that, and for someone whose used Androids before, the experience this time is smooth and has never felt better.

Apple would go broke if they made one. This is why they haven’t made one. Their AppleCare would be extremely expensive and extremely risky. The genius bar would be so congested with people bringing in their phones for screen replacements and repairs.
its about the cutting edge of a foldable full sized screen. the screen real estate is great when multi tasking and all. s pen is cool because of note taking or photo editing. the issue is reliability. you have people who have the same fold for 4 years and it works great, you have others who make it to one month before the phone starts killing itself. Its a coin toss. plus, foldables are phones more for techy people. people who want the different phone. niche people. that's why the phone just cant sell as well as a mainstream phone. everybody likes them when out in the wild, but nobody buys them - except for us.

So you get a regular phone and a tablet and it's rubbish? No screen dies after a year meanwhile people are still using the first fold and Z Fold 2.
You can't judge a product because you had a bad one. If that was the case there would be no products in the world as there are lemons in every product.
As far as foldables go I've had numerous over the years without a single problem
