- Frank Sinatra and Lawrence Tibbett stop the FRANK SINATRA IN PERSON radio show with this parody duet performance broadcast on the CBS radio network on March 28, 1945. Tibbett had just replaced Sinatra on the Saturday night THE HIT PARADE radio show, and a friendly rivalry is embellished in this duet as Tibbett guest stars on Sinatra's new radio show. Not heard since it was first broadcast in 1945, the audio has been recorded directly from the original CBS transcription disc from the Ric Ross Frank Sinatra Collection.
Love both Sinatra and Tibbett.
I think it’s amazing and incredible you have these old broadcast and audios of frank Sinatra during his peak and prime and early days mostly. I mean this hasn’t been heard since it was first broadcasted in 1945 and Ik I wasn’t around then and to hear it now Just makes me feel like a young teen during that era. I hope you never stop uploading this is gold Thanks
Thank you. Glad you enjoy these vintage radio broadcasts featuring "The Voice". I do too.
What a great duet
Both very distinctive, expressive and with a beautiful voice
Frank had great pipes in the those early years!
1944 Old Man River is a home run hit out of the park.
Such a wonderful performance!
Thank you 👍🎶
Awesome Medley, thanks for uploading.
🤍SO GOOD UNUSUAL
THANK YOU JAMES..
Very fun...
Frank had some voice in the 40s.
Thanks. Dear Mr Mahoney, Ive been looking for a Carnegie Hall concert with an introductory dialogue between Sinatra and Duke Ellington (hilarious because Sinatra talks jive talk and Ellington sounds like the Duke of Windsor)… It would have been about this time! Cant find it again on UA-cam. Did you perhaps post it?
Hello David -- sorry for the long delay in replying. I have uploaded a 1943 radio clip with FS and Duke Ellington that may be the one you were looking for. It was broadcast live from the Broadway Theater in NYC:

Can somebody tell the songs please. I could only identify La Donne Mobile.
Habanera, Sunday, Monday Or Always, Saturday Night (Is The Loneliest Night of the Week), Vesti La Giubba , Sold American (Chant), La Donna È Mobile, & Ac-cen-tchu-ate The Positive.
The very first one sinatra sings is bella figlia del’lamore
