@@JackIsNotInTheBox - No puppet strings. Mostly photographic effects, and very inventive ones for the 30's. Here is an excellent video: ua-cam.com/video/-xk-PvvnC2s/v-deo.html, which includes simplified explanations of the invisibility effects from all of Universal's Invisible Man movies. This video is also very interesting: ua-cam.com/video/4ysmepAjLIs/v-deo.html.
This film wove it's spell on me in the early 1950s when I saw it on Shock Theatre from a New York station. I've lost count of how many time I've seen it but it's always like the first time for me every time I watch it. Thank you for this wonderful tribute.
Bravo! I’ve LITERALLY seen this film at least a hundred times, and you couldn’t have put a finer trailer together for it. Thanks for an outstanding job, and for sharing it with us!
This is my favorite classic horror picture, Due in part to Claude Rains remarkable performance ,his voice captures all the eerieness of the story ,his maniacal laugh as he sends the poor guy over the edge to his death is bone chilling , and i love Una O Conner ,she is quite a character ,her screams are priceless ,this movie is a mainstay in my film collection .
Of all of the Universal horror films from that period, The Invisable Man, is my favorite. The line in the movie that sticks in my mind is the line about him walking down the stairs and not being able to watch his feet.
This idea is absolutely terrifying. Just imagine if there was an invisible psychopathic scientist around and you had no idea where he is or what he might do.
Dude, The Invisible Man would be the coolest friend a person could have. That and when he drinks you can see the booze go down his throat. Totally awesome movie. Did you know that Walter Brennan (My Darling Clementine (1946), John Carradine (Grapes of Wrath (1940) & Dwight Frye (Dracula (1931) all make cameos in this movie? R.I.P. Claude Rains (1889-1967)
I am a screenwriter (30+ years) and director in Colorado. I acquired the rights to H G Wells story The Invisible Man in 2006. Although there have been a few films called the Invisible Man, none of them has ever followed the terrifying tale the way Wells wrote it. As a true fan of the book and H.G., my film is an almost direct adaptation from the book. However, since we are indies with very little money we set the location as 1890's Colorado.
James Whale truly outdid himself here. And as a then recent British expat, what fun he had with the almost Hogarthian depictions of droll English types.
I'm going to dress up for the Invisible Man tomorrow for Halloween for when I help pass out treats at my house. I wanted to dress up today as it's my last year in high school and I wanted to have at least one big Halloween costume day, but it would have taken to long to apply and I was in a rush. Pity. The original idea was to go as The Wolfman but I could never do Pierce's make-up and there aren't many good masks currently. Still it should be fun although it takes wrap my face up right.
Lol, so the vibe I'm getting... if he's totally invisible, doesn't tht mean he's got to take off ALL his clothes? So he's rlly killing ppl in the nude?
God this movie is so EPIC... awesome that it's been on Cinemax lately :P Love the part where he jus goes nuts and throws money around outside the bank... straight up Classic flick! A+
In the UK it is PG certificate when shown at the cinema and 12 certificate for DVD release. Probably would have been higher rated when originally released.
well thats cuz you're used to movies like spiderman and twilight:) This movie is a masterpiece in my opinion and i enjoy it way more then most of the movies these days
i recently played the universal horror casino game, and the.invisible man came out and said ""A presesnt from the invisible man" i dont remember this line/quote in the movie, can anyone help?
It wasn't it was an accident that backfired at first he didn't want to be invisible. He tried to go back but once he saw what he could do since he was invisible, he went crazy with it. I mean, what would you do if you were invisible?
You were only able to produce such a good trailer because of the powerful score composed for this movie. Other movies of this era strongly lacked a good theme such as Frankenstein 1931 and WereWolf of London. They really lacked a good musical score. But not The Invisible Man!
For a 30s film they've really nailed the special effects to make him invisible.
Dom Russo how did they even pull it off
@@captain_starducks5048 ya so true
@@captain_starducks5048 Probably with thin puppet strings.

The most underrated Universal Monster movie.
It blew my mind. It's a must see for everyone
You know someone has gone completely insane when that person taunts the Moon.
Excellent trailer! Put together so well and enhances interest in this classic movie. I love Claude Rains' maniacal laugh!
I am 11 and I finished this book today the day after my birthday! This is my Favorite classic science fiction book.
When they remake this movie they have to keep that line: "Even the moon is frightened of me, the whole world is frightened of me"
I totally agree with you.

Claude Rains played the perfect scientist/invisible madman. H.G. Wells was still alive when this movie premiered. I wonder what he thought of it?
Bravo! I’ve LITERALLY seen this film at least a hundred times, and you couldn’t have put a finer trailer together for it. Thanks for an outstanding job, and for sharing it with us!
One of my favorite movies of all time.
We LOVE the classic monsters!

All Wells books were awesome.
HG Wells.
this has such great special effects!!! its hard to believe it was made in the 1930's!
That evil laugh...
Just finished reading the novel I'm watching the trailer before watching the movie. Yup I'm a book nerd especially on literature classics.
That is possibly one of the greatest laughs i've ever heard. I wish I could have that kind of maniacal cackle!

Love this Movie & Claude Raines😎 timeless classic
i still cant believe that my great auncle made this
This idea is absolutely terrifying. Just imagine if there was an invisible psychopathic scientist around and you had no idea where he is or what he might do.
The Invisible Man from 1933 with great special effects for a 77 year old movie which still stand up today! Well edited thanks for posting!
It would have been funny if the last shot wasn’t a pair of dancing pants but just a dancing shirt.

Hebert George wells is an extraordinary author.
Also member of the Illuminati.
James Whale truly outdid himself here. And as a then recent British expat, what fun he had with the almost Hogarthian depictions of droll English types.

Classic horror film
The invisible man. Is he bad or not?
Love this movie, the Music is fantastic and Claude Balls even though you cant see him his voice is frightning
Classic! Thanks for letting us see this. Found another film with the invisible man. Red Riding Hood Meets Frankenstein. Very funny!
OMG! For a very old movie, it has very good animation or stunt.
Just wish they could rely on more practical effects like that newer films than just CG-I stuff.
love this movie got it on DVD.
How to get it on DVD ?????
+Isaac Newton I got it on Blu Ray, it was in an Universal Studios Monster Box.
Excellent job sir! And that goes for your Raven trailer too! Thank you very, very much!

That was awesome!!! Great Job!

How did they made the last scene with the dancing trouser back in these days o.O
does anyone know what year this movie was made in?
+Callan Flanagan 1933.
The script has changed from the book. The book by wells was more interesting.
Have you noticed the Invisible Mans laughter sounds a little like Jim Careys
i recently played the universal horror casino game, and the.invisible man came out and said ""A presesnt from the invisible man" i dont remember this line/quote in the movie, can anyone help?
RobJigga Not sure if you are still alive, but the line is from the scene where he goes in the bank and leaves with stolen money and starts throwing it
A remake according to the book with Ralph Fiennes or Garry Oldman as invisible Man.
Best comedy I have ever seen, even though it's supposed to be a horror (love the part where he's skipping)
It wasn't it was an accident that backfired at first he didn't want to be invisible. He tried to go back but once he saw what he could do since he was invisible, he went crazy with it. I mean, what would you do if you were invisible?
What if...
The Invisible Man and the Creature from the Black Lagoon crossover
i love it.. bravo...
I wish you'd do one for the Black Cat...that would be awesome!
my best guess is just an overlay. with some "masking" thats pretty simple.
@GamingandMetal6 they are old welding glasses believe it or not
