    The whole story about the actor who didn’t like the face mold because he was gassed in WW1 really shook me up a bit, it’s it nice to see that at least some of the men who suffered those horrors were able to live good lives in Hollywood and on the stage. “Lest we forget”

      @@animegod2517 It's a reference to a simpson's episode where a con man shows up to sell springfield a monorail to clear up traffic problems. He uses a really catchy tune to get the town singing where the chorus is "Monorail, monorail, monoraaaaail!" the rest of the song is people bringing up their objections as the con man gives reasons why they shouldn't worry and accept how great it would be.
      Long story short, (and spoilers) con man sells springfield a shotty monorail, almost destroys town.

      I actually was just thinking like, "I'm not that old." but I just looked it up, the episode is Marge vs. the Monorail and came out in 1993. I'm young enough to say I was only a year old and didn't catch the original airing of the episode but one of the many reruns over the years the simpsons was popularly watched.

    My grandfather was terrified of this movie. The line that always stuck out to him is the line where the invisible man describes how even having a speck of dirt under his nails, his entire ruse is up. It shows his insanity very well.

    I love it when you can tell James is just having a lot of legitimate fun without him needing to tell you how entertaining the movie is. Roasting the scenes with the best of respect and admiring the behind the scenes magic. It's amazing to me that green screen effects existed in the 30s in the form of black screen instead.

    Griffin in the book is terrifying. He's filled with hate, brilliant, tramatized, egotistical, and he's super strong. He's a great villain on his own, but being invisible on top of that is insane.

      Yeah in the film they give him a bit of sympathy by heavily implying that he wasn't bad at first, but was driven insane by the chemicals he used (and he didn't know it would happen).
      In the book, he's a monster from the get go. The new film is closer to the book in that regard.

      @@michaelsinger4638 he was also picked on for being albino. That's how he could turn invisible. He didn't have pigments so he filled it in with the chemical. When he tried it on a white cat, it's eyes were the only thing showing.

    This was always my favorite of the classic '30s horror films. It's amazing how well it still holds up today, thanks to Rains' performance, some still-impressive visuals, and its clever mix of horror and dark comedy.

Technically the top 50 oldest people at the moment range from 112 to 117, but I don't think any of them were in the movie, so I'd say anyone from this movie who was 25 years old or younger at the time MAY potentially still be alive.... course, I'm talking extras and stuff... all the older people and stars are definitely gone.
