- The iPhone 8 has shown like its previous models has shown not to be immune to accidental screen breakage and damage. Fortunately this is a relative easy fix with the right tools listed below.

A few points of note. Repairing your iPhone 8 will void any manufacture warranty you have and also render the phone not waterproof. However saying that - neither is an iPhone with a cracked screen. Also be careful when removing the home button as if you damage this it can not be replaced. So be patient and take your time.
The LCD assembly is one piece with the digitizer. Some people think they are repaired separately which is not a feasible solution that requires special equipment.

I'd recommend putting home button back in 1st, makes it way easier.
You have a lot more room with the metal plate going on afterwards

Golden Rule: Always disconnect the battery before popping screen connectors off. The iPhone is very easy to accidentally power on.....

Angel Emele the backlight gets fried meaning the phone works, but when you power it on the screen is black. It works in all, but you’d have to get it fixed by a professional micro solderer

Jack the wiring got fried. Without the wiring, the electricity source doesn’t have anywhere to go.
Hey was the phone turning on before the restoration
I put my phone on the window seal and the type of phone case I had slides off stuff really easily so it slid off and fell smack on the floor and shattered my phone jdjdjwjwjw
can you buy a screen with the camera and speaker etc already installed so its basically just a plug and play after removing and reinstalling the couple basic screen tabs?

I got my Iphone 8 screen repaired and apparently it is now frozen and the only way to get it to work is to wipe or factory reset my entire phone. The repairer did not warn me of this beforehand or of any of the consequences and I didn't back up any of my data. I am so frustrated.

Juan Sanchez it is possible but you’ll most likely need a new lcd aswell as a screen replacement, best take it to a local phone repair shop

You have to replace that metal backing to the screen too if the phone isn’t controllable when on? My phone opens random apps and scrolls plus a very shattered phone screen

check that the connectors haven't moved and come undone.

Fernando Hernandez I’m pretty sure it won’t be because you have to separate the screen from the adhesive or whatever that makes it water resistant
The one shown in this video will not be but the water resistant adhesive is extremely cheap and all you have to do is carefully line it up on the edges before you put the new screen on. Packs of 5 of the adhesive are like $3 so you get multiple tries.

Question! When a screen or battery is replaced, is the phone factory reset? I have an 8 and there’s a few worn down pixels, they are dim (not dead dw) and very ugly. :3 lucky for me it’s been 3 years and my battery capacity is at 90%!

Would have been helpful if you would have mentioned and identified which of the leads connects goes the battery. Your only mention of the battery throughout, is near the end when you say "make sure all your leads are secure - including the battery" If i had known which was the battery lead at the beginning, i may have avoided the power surge that 'killed my display'. Phone ruined now - thanks a bundle.

This is for your front camera and ear speaker. This is a cheap part to replace

Most screens come without camera, and no backplate but you can purchase some that come with camera. And the home button does not come with the screen you have to transfer the one from your old screen. Same with backplate. Correct me if I’m wrong.

If it’s ripped anything can be replaced but the main issue is if u damage the finger print u can replace it but the finger print sensor will not work

If you replace it yourself it will cost from $10.00 to $30.00 depending on what screen you get but if you take it to a stor it will cost from $90.00 to $150.00 so you should just replace it yourself 👌

Why'd you smash cut away from the home button removal, the most difficult part of the whole replacement? I think you f*cked up and ripped the ribbon cable and had to start over with a new button.
