    It worked! Only cost me fifteen dollars for the replacement screen and a bit of patience! I had the issue that the iphone wouldnt turn on again, and when connected to a charger only blinked the apple logo. Turns out I disconnected the battery so after I fixed that now everything works 100% perfectly fine! Thank you!

    Thank you for your detailed explanation! I now have a fully working phone again with no cracks in the screen! Although I was pretty nervous while (dis)assembling the phone and got mad on you everytime you said something about what could potentially break and damage my phone :D

    Thanks for the video. After changing the disply step by step as you have described, everything went well but unfortunately wenn I am typing a message and I need special caracters on the left side of the screen like ä, á, à etc the screen is reacting very strange and showing my the other apps that are open or just jump to the left side of the screen. Are you able to tell me what can I do solve this Issue? Should I open again? I had difficulties on the last part but I think everything is connected well. Thanks for your help

    Great video, but as a tip you guys should make the videos with white-screened iPhones because it’s easier to differentiate between pieces that you need to remove, and the metal frame of the phone

    Cool video. Always very detailed. But you can totally tell you had already loosened the adhesive around the frame and the front camera assembly beforehand. Lol

    • @tuffbeard
      @tuffbeard 6 років тому +1

      sopadre77 No not really. I don’t heat the adhesive. I just use a flathead screwdriver to pry it up and then slide my fingernail around the edges until it opens. And I’ve fixed over 300 phones.

    • @sopadre77
      @sopadre77 6 років тому

      Devon Bunkley I'll try that

    • @sopadre77
      @sopadre77 5 років тому

      You can still tell he had already taken that flex cable off though. That's why he's holding it with his finger while he heats it up; so it won't fall out. Lol! Plus watch when the light and proximity sensors come out. The mic is already lifting off too. You can literally see where it's already been separated from the adhesive. That's what the white stuff is. I see it everyday as I'm sure you do to.

    I've just replaced the Display Assembly on my iPhone 8 and now my home button doesn't work. Is this just a result of using an aftermarket Display Assembly? Or did I damage the home button cable during the install? The result is I've enabled the digital home button icon, but now just can't use fingerprint ID. Everything else works.

    Noticed your screen came with the thermal plate.. Does it come off as simple as the iPhone 7?

    • @kylerebman5094
      @kylerebman5094 5 років тому +1

      Devon Bunkley the thermal plate is held with 6 Y000 screws on the sides of the iPhone 7 screen. The bottom portion is adhered with light adhessive on top of the ribbon cables (home and LCD digitizer cables). It came off much easier than the 6S, I know that for sure

    Anybody about to replace your screen with an aftermarket screen on your iP 8, Louis Rossman said Apple will disable the screen after you update to the next firmware update after doing so. I have not personally verified this but the guy does Apple product repairs for a living. Just a heads up.
