Great looking tree and tutorial Mike. Can't believe how many years I have been tagging along in your shop....and you still look as young as back then!! Take care my friend Cheers Harold
That is a great beginner tree Mike. Although a good tree for any skill level. Quick and easy. I will be making a few of these this season. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
Mike, have you and family recovered from the recent flooding? The shop looks great and you are handsome as ever. Thanks for all you have done for my turning hobby.
Mike This is a great wee video mate as there is always someone new coming along to turning, I hope. And Pete is correct, hope my Norma doesn't see this video as Im always saying I need this or that tool, lol.
Thank you for sharing . I've one question if you have the time , I'm just starting to turn , what size bowl gouge should I buy to start . I've been told 1/2 inch , 3/8 , 1/4 inch . What do you recommend ? BTW love your teaching very smooth and encouraging.
Thank you for watching. My suggestion would be a 3/8" bowl gouge as they will do large bowls, and can also be used on spindle wprk for stock removal. Later if you get into deeper bowls, the 1/2" would then be a good idea. Hope this helps. Cheers. Mike
Thanks Mike for the small project explained in simple way with 2 instruments. 😊 Which type of colouring pens were used? I will try to make the same and will gift it to my Christian friend as a Christmas 🎄 gift 🎁
Love it Mike and believe it or not something else I have never turned.

Great video. Could you explain why you should never turn treated wood please ?
