same here. I kept hearing the name 'Paul Feig' come up in various shows and movies, but, never knew who it was. All along it was Tim from Heavyweights!
His dancing at the beginning is just to laugh and love. I’m TERRIBLE at dancing but this is just cute! I love it when Pat runs in and joins that just is my favorite part! I’ve contemplated doing that at my work’s school dance (although I’m a teacher) but I get self conscious easily.
I went to a summer camp in middle school that had this same scenario play out, everyone standing off to the sides and afraid to dance. I knew this was possible from this scene and also seeing my brother do it once on a cruise. I got up in front of the dj and just started grooving, first 2 or 3 girls ran up and started dancing with me and it wasn't long before nearly everyone there was out on the dancefloor. That was 2 decades ago and I'm still proud of myself for that one.
This is how the reception party started at my wedding! My fiancé and I made a plan with our DJ to change the song of our official first dance from a slow one our parents chose to what we really wanted, which was an upbeat dance song that had personal connections to how we met. Feeling spontaneous, I (the bride) went to our audience and coxed random guests to join us. My in-laws were the first to take the hint and they encouraged everyone else to join in on the fun. It was a blast! (On a personal note, whenever I feel true happiness, I cannot keep it to myself and must share it with others to keep it in control. That’s why I impulsively reached out to my guests, bc I wanted them to feel as happy as I did.)
I was born in '88 with older siblings so naturally the earliest memories I had was on recording live radio sets onto a cassette or taping a blank VHS tape off live tv.....very soon dial-up internet and Napster were how you discovered music (mostly current music circa '99-'00). As the years went by, technology made it easier to discover music. Then in the late 00's vinyl came back and that's when most of the really important artists I know today became a staple.
@timkluntz8362 92' here I remember Napster, my intro into classic rock and more. My dad was pure country so those were my childhood years listening to Alan Jackson, Shania Twain, King George Straight, etc... and of course this movie was filmed in my home state too
Andrew Toone I think the point was to do the dance to embarrass the fat kids. I think they may have said that in the movie but it’s been a while since I’ve seen it so I may be wrong.
Because people are self conscious which is hard enough but nobody wants to be outgoing and just enjoy themselves for fear of being ridiculed. It can be an ugly society sometimes.
This scene actually does a good job showing how adults will look dumb to help the kids have a great time
me when I have children
What you mean? Paul was cooking 😅
What makes you think the adults looked dumb?
Everyone else looks dumb standing around at a dance, he crushed it
I can't believe I only just realized that this was Paul Feig. After so many years of watching Heavyweights
do you remember the mane of this movie?
@@rightshadowbrain heavyweights most legendary movie of all time

It's called booooogie feva!
The best part when lars & the teenage kid were both dancing in the dj booth
You skipped the best part though where Lars starts dancing with 🤣
river_city 2a Lars and the young boy both dancing in the DJ booth. 😂😂😂
But then he'd easily steal the scene. Gotta let others have a chance lol.
Lars is hilarious
@@charlieedmonds7479 He's the best
That is a great dance 😂
I randomly looked up this scene to see Lars dance, that was the best part.🤣
"What's your name?" .............LAAAZ!!! 🤣
Greatest moment of Paul Feig's career. (and Freaks and Geeks, obviously.)
He also directed Unaccompanied Minors in 2006.
It's crazy how far he fell....
@@bracksampson1 he is a sellout making woke shit now. sad
Да-да, это он снял Охотниц. А эту сцену помню с детства на СТС.

She was also in D2: the Mighty Ducks and Little Nicky.
Paul Feig.....comedic genius

so specific, but incredibly accurate

I love when Salami Sam starts making out with the his dance partner!
Perkis was doing a good job at making sure no one had any fun
Right Ben Stiller played the best villain
0:23 "Tim's blown a microchip!"
Luis Ferri look I didn’t even notice that!!!!!! 🤦♂️😂😂😂😂
I thought he said he swallowed a microchip
How this man became a Hollywood director is beyond me.
Linking up with Stiller and Apatow was a good move! Paul Feig had a very cringeworthy upringing which translates perfectly on film!
He’s a natural leader
He Ruined Ghostbusters but Saved the Dance.
🤣😂😂😂
Facts
Nostalgia from the 90s
I was done when he hit the "ohhhh"
he saved the dance but he totally ruined ghostbusters
shitttalkin allday LMFAO he sure did
He directed another kids comedy. Unaccompanied Minors.
Pat looked great dancing from 0:52-0:56, so did Roy(Kenan)later with the hat & shades
Pat was really good at the dance lol and so was Roy!!
the nurse chick is so hot
She's 90s hot which is the best kind of hot. Because it's normal
This pleases me
She kind of reminded me of Brittany Murphy
It’s called “Boogie Fever” hahahaha lol my childhood!!! #90sBabies
Came here after discovering Paul Feig’s Instagram reels. He might’ve actually blown a micro chip in 2020. 😂❤️
This is Feig’s shining moment. Too bad it’s tarnished by his Ghostbusters movie.
They was having fun until Tony Ruined it for Everybody
“Put the fruit trays away. The insects will be out soon.
“Alright, the dance is over! Everybody go home!”
My man Salami Sam still got some sugar though.
Inf Know hells yeah
Darren Allen ikrrrr
I love lars dancing, hes cute.
Save some flowers for yourself dear. You are beautiful 😊
Woah.
What’s this? A counselor who actually CARES for the well-being of the campers? Why didn’t Tony think about that?
Anyone else notice sam kissing the girl at the end of sence as everyone was leaving?
Yeah. Sam had moves

The end of the dance was the best part and you cut it, why?!
Anybody else recognize Keanon Thompson as a child?
It's the man who single-handedly ruined Ghostbusters making an ass out of himself!
Did other summer camps have a dance? It sounds pretty unusual but pretty interesting.

I liked the I Believe in Miracles song better........... too bad he didn't dance to that.....
I'm more mad NOBODY danced to Saturday Night in the beginning of the dance.
Am I the only one who thinks the nurse looks a lot like Samantha from Bewitched?
I'm feeling skinny Tony!
Back when he was cool and not an SJW.
Did they really have to bring thin girls to the dance?
Tony thought humiliation would help motivate them to lose weight
Save the dance? More like he ruined the fat shaming that would have motivated weight loss goals....
White people dancing is a horror movie
You're a mean head 😢
